Marvel Avengers Book Tag!

Greetings Earthlings! Today I’m doing the Marvel Avengers Book Tag!

I didn’t create this tag and I don’t know who did but I love Marvel and Superheroes and books so I wanted to do this.

Iron Man

Your Favorite First Book

I love Iron Man but I watched the movies in the wrong order. My parents showed the first movie to my sisters and then they showed all three of us the second one and then we all went in saw the third one and I’d saw all the other Avengers movies. I finally watched it pretty recently and I did like it. First books in series aren’t always going to be the first because they are opening up the universe and the new world we are about to explore so they take time but their are some good ones. I’m going to pick Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare.

This book is just great!! I loved this book so much more than City of Bones and Clockwork Angel. I have a review on how I feel about it here. Lord of Shadow is about to come out as I’m writing and it’s probably already out when this post comes into the world! I’m so excited!! Another good first book is Alice in Zombieland. Damn that was the best one in the series.

Captain America

A Book that takes place in a different time

Captain America is my favorite. I love him so much! Chris Evans is just so gorgeous and I love him as the role of Steve Rogers. I don’t read a lot of books that take place in a different time period. I don’t know why, I don’t know why I just don’t find a lot of them or know of any of them so it’s not something that I read a lot of right next to science fiction. I have read Outlander, the Infernal Devices, and technically Harry Potter takes place in a different time. I think I’m going to pick Fever 1793 by Laurie Halse Anderson.

This book if you couldn’t guess is about the yellow fever and it follows a girl named Mattie and her life during the time of this and how she deals with it. It’s a really great book and I love it and I love Laurie Halse Anderson, her books are like damn! I would recommend this book to everyone because it’s so good.

A book character that you like more after they were casted

I love Thor and I love Chris Hemsworth. I didn’t really want to see this movie at first but then my family was like it’s so good and I’ve come to adore Thor and all the characters and Loki and these movies! Whose excited about Thor: Ragnarok? I AM!!! It took me awhile for me to decide what to pick for this question but I finally realized that my answer is Tom Felton as Draco Malfoy.

Draco Malfoy is terrible character well the choices he makes are terrible. He is a good boy that was forced into a life that he didn’t want. Now if I had read the books first then he would have just thought he was a spoiled brat but watching Tom Felton bring this character to the screen helped me understand what he was going through this and he made me love him more.

A book that you love but isn’t really a popular read for others

I love Hawkeye. I was so scared that he was going to die in Age of Ultron because they introduce as to his family and when his wife was like be safe and I was shit he is going to die but he didn’t! I’m going to pick to Sherlock inspire stories that I love and I couldn’t decide which one I should do so I’m going Lock & Mori by Heather W. Petty and the Clockwork Scarab by Colleen Gleason!

They are so amazing and so wonderful and I love them so much. I have review for both Lock and Mori books here and here and I have reviews for Stoker and Holmes here and here. If you haven’t read these books yet then go read them because they are so amazing and wonderful and I need the final books right now because I need to know what happens!!

Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch

A Book with a Sibling Duo

Okay so is Quicksilver coming back for Infinity Wars because I kept seeing stuff saying that he still is alive and is returning? Can someone just clear this up for me? Thanks. I don’t know who else there is to pick besides Fred and George from Harry Potter.

fred and george.jpg

I love them so much and they are just so amazing and the death in Deathly Hallows breaks my heart and AHHHHHHHHH!

A villain that you love and you can’t help but be attracted to

I love Loki. I love him so much. I’m so excited Thor 3 because I know what the title means and the trailers look great. I’m having a hard time picking this one because I can’t be a attracted to a lot of villains because they do such horrible things. I’m gonna go with Hideo from Warcross by Marie Lu.

I don’t know if he counts as villain but his motivation at the end of Warcross can be called villainy. I don’t know. I don’t feel attracted to any book villains right now. Because like I said before so many villains do terrible things and I stop loving them after that. Like Tate from American Horror Story, everyone loves him but he’s done such terrible things that I don’t like him.

A Book I’ve been meaning to read

Like every book in the world I feel like. I do have answer for this and it’s pretty shameful and the books I’ve been meaning to read are Six of Crows and Shadows and Bone! I’m sorry! I’ve been meaning to read them and every time I get them I just start reading them and then I give up on them. I plan on reading them soon but I’ve been saying that for awhile now.

The Hulk

A Book you can’t talk about without getting angry

DISHONORABLE MENTION: 13 REASONS WHY! I hate these books so much and I get so mad every time I talk about them. Same for 13 Reasons Why.

Black Widow

black widow.jpg

A Side Character that You wished had their own Book

I mean I wish I got a whole series about Harry Potter’s parent when they were at Hogwarts but everyone wants that so. How about Dorian? Because Chaol got a whole book about him so why I get he get one? I love Dorian he’s my favorite! I guess so many people wouldn’t like that because I feel like everyone loves Chaol and I don’t really like him that much.

And that was the Avengers book tag! I tag you guys to do this if you want to! More reviews and other fun things are coming out soon so look out for that! Books I Read This Month! | September

Greetings Earthlings! Today I’m talking about the books I read in the month of September of 2017! I made a post for the month of August which you can read here and please do because I had fun doing this. If you are wondering what this is, it’s basically a wrap up that I didn’t want to call a wrap up. I read 12 books this month which was one more than I read last month! I only read one F this month so there’s not as much ranting, ENJOY!

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince by J.K. Rowling

-A: Good story with characters that got better and a slow plot line

I’m currently re reading the Harry Potter books because it’s something I do like once a year and I started off September by finishing the Half Blood Prince for like the fourth time and I loved it. I love this book and I love Harry and Ginny and I hate that the thing happens at the end. You know what thing I’m talking about. Every time I read this book, I always get upset that the movie changes some many things. I mean I love the movie but you took some great moments out. Come now! I don’t really have a lot to say about this as it’s like my fourth time, reading it so yeah.

The Copper Gauntlet by Cassandra Clare and Holly Black

+B: Had a weird pace and took me a while to like the characters.

I read book one like a couple months ago and I really enjoyed the first book and I also really enjoyed this one. It’s very crazy though and I meant have to re read it though because I had to re read the first book. It’s a good book and I love all the characters like I love Aaron and Callum and Tamara and I love that he has a giant chaos wolf as a pet and it’s so great! If you like Harry Potter and you like Cassandra Clare then you will enjoy this book because it’s great. I ship Aaron and Callum which is something that has been happening a lot lately. I’ll read Cassandra Clare books and they’ll have two males in the story that have this great friendship and I’m just shipping them and reading into everything! I read Shadowhunter Academy and there’s that story with James Herondale and Matthew Fairchild and the whole time I was just like ‘get together! get together!’. They didn’t get together, they became parabatai and a part of me was like ‘Maybe their the parabatai that messed everything up’ but no I know that’s not true.

A Study in Charlotte by Brittany Cavallaro

a study in charlotte.jpg

D: Nothing seem to happen. The characters had a bad attitude or were boring until the end. Story didn’t know what it wanted.

Can you say disappointed? I was really disappointed with this book. I was takes on Sherlock and I was excited to read this book and I was really letdown by it. This book follows Charlotte Holmes and Jamie Watson and their great parents were Sherlock Holmes and John Watson and they don’t really find like each other but when a murder happens at their school they come to together to find out who did it. I liked the beginning of the book where it sets somethings up but after that I didn’t like it anymore as I didn’t like any of the characters. Jamie and Charlotte were so annoying and so was every other character that appeared. I was also kind of confused about the ending and I don’t even know if we find out who killed the guy like what? This book also has a lot of tropes about teenagers in it like most of time the guys were just objectifying the girls and the kids were all drinking and partying. I’m just so upset that I didn’t like this book! I so wanted to like it. I read the whole thing and I still didn’t like it. If you like this book than I’m glad that you found some enjoyment in it but as for me I didn’t and I wished I hadn’t wasted my time with it and I don’t like I’m going to continue on with this series. Sorry not sorry!

Big Little Lies by Liane Moriaty

big littles lies.jpg

+ A: Perfect story with get characters and fantastic plot line.

THIS. BOOK. OH. MY. GOD! If you read my last Books I read this Month then you know  I was upset that I got Once and For All by Sarah Dessen and not this book and I didn’t go out and buy it. It finally became available at the library! I only wanted to read this book because I would sit in the room with my mom and I wanted to know who died and she wouldn’t tell me. My mom loves Liane Moriarty’s books and she has been telling me to read some of her books for a while now and I’ve finally read it and it was so amazing! I love how you saw the mystery just unfold in front of you and every detail affected what was happening. I was not accepting half of the stuff that happened at the party to happen  like I started screaming and my mom was just like ‘Yeah can you believe that?’ NO I CAN’T MOM! I wasn’t excepting that to happen. I had a thought in my mind that it would that person to die and I was still surprised when it happened and I can’t believe that person did that another thing! I was even more surprised with who killed that person I thought it was going to be someone else but I was wrong and I was so surprised! I’m currently watching this show with my mom. I’m debating if I should make it my November book for Epic Adaptations. If you don’t know Epic Adaptations is a book club that I do where I pick a book and I review it along with the book’s adaptations and then I compare them. Tell me if you think I should make it my book of the month for November because I have October (Handmaid’s Tale) and I think I’m narrowing in on my December book of the month.

The Dreadful Tale of Prosper Redding by Alexandra Bracken

prosper redding.jpg

+B: Had a weird pace and took me a while to like the characters.

This was a book I got at ALA in June or July wow it’s sad that I don’t remember that. I’ve been wanting to read it for awhile but for some I didn’t read it until this month. I read it because it was the Booksplosion book of the month and I never read the book of the month for them because I never have it but last and this month I was lucky enough to have both arcs of those books. I didn’t not like Little Monsters but luckily they picked an Alexandra Bracken book which I was so excited about. If you don’t know Alexandra Bracken has written the Darkest Minds trilogy which I’ve only read the first two books I’m planning on getting to book three soon and she has also written the Passengers duology which I haven’t read yet DON’T JUDGE ME!!!! This book follows a boy named Prosper Redding who discovers that great something grandfather made a deal with a demon and then he broke it and now the demon Alastor is living inside him. I had a lot of  fun with this book and I’m super interested to see where this story is going. Sometimes the characters got on my nerves but it never really lasted long and I went back to loving them and this book was a lot of fun. If you enjoy all of Alexandra Bracken’s books than I recommend this book because you’ll have a good time.

The Bronze Key by Cassandra Clare and Holly Black

bronze key.jpg

+B: Had a weird pace and took me a while to like the characters.

This book….. um.. something happened in this book and I don’t like that it happened. Why did Holly and Cassie do this? WHY? He was my favorite and I loved him but now AHAHAHAHAH!!! If you haven’t guessed it yet my favorite died. They killed him. I’m not saying who because spoilers and I’m pulling for him to come back to life because I love him and I want him back. This book was also very good and I really enjoyed this book. I wasn’t not excepting that to happen. I’m really upset. The characters were still great and entraining and it had some great moments besides that other one. I’m going to read book four but if my favorite does not come back then I will be super upset and just cry and cry and cry. Luckily I like all the other characters so I’m still going to read and finish series when the two books come out because I do enjoy this books and there are super fun. This  really seems like I don’t like the book I liked this book! I’m excited for book four because you know other things happened in this book and I do have to know what the hell happens next.

Fairest by Marissa Meyer

+ A: Perfect story with get characters and fantastic plot line.

I really regret the fact that I didn’t read this book until now! Why did I not pick this up when I was waiting for Winter? Why? Past Grace! What’s up with that girl being a weird when it comes to doing things? Fun fact about me I’m homeschool and I like listening to things while I work and I’ve been trying to get into audiobooks so I’ve been listening to them while I’ll do some work. Listening to audio books though for some reason makes things more intense for me so maybe if I read the book it wouldn’t be as intense. Like I was listening to the audiobook of Dumplin’ which for some reason got really intense like I had trouble going forwards at some points because I couldn’t take it and Dumplin’ is contemporary novel! Anyway I regret just waiting around for Winter and not reading this because this was amazing. In case your new here I love books about the origins of villains and this was so great! It reminded me of Lock & Mori and how you watch them slowly become the villains they are known for. Watching Levana slip into darkness and become a power crazy bitch was just so great! I really want to re read the Lunar Chronicles now because I miss this universe! It’s just so great! Marissa Meyer books are so good!

Tower of Dawn by Sarah J. Maas

tower of dawn

-A: Good story with characters that got better and a slow plot line

I’m doing a review of this book which is coming in like a month so like out for that. I have no clue what’s in it as I’ve only written like a paragraph right now so yeah really interesting. I went into this book with low expectations because if you been here for awhile then you know I hate Chaol. He just gets on my nerves and he was so whiny and mean and I have like six reviews for each book and for each review that I have for this series I talk about how much I don’t like him. Luckily my mom read this before me and she said it was really good and that’s always comforting when it comes to books. Sometimes.  I really enjoyed this book, it’s not my favorite. Like Empire of Storms is currently holding that title but this one was really good. If you don’t know in Empire of Storms, Chaol wasn’t in it and this book is what was happening to Chaol during those events of book five. This was going to be a Novella but instead it turned into book six which is nice because I got one more book before the final which I’m not ready for. This book was pretty good and if you are worry about this book because a lot of people are than don’t worry I really think you’ll enjoy this book. I’m excited but I’m so scared to continue on! *thumbs up with a worried smile

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling

+ A: Perfect story with get characters and fantastic plot line.

I love this book so much! I didn’t cry this time when reading it because it seems with every time that I read or watch Deathly Hallows I cry but this time I didn’t. I just got really sad because I love this series so much! Deathly Hallows is just such an amazing book and it’s like one of my favorites. It’s so good! I don’t know if you guys know this but I love Harry Potter.

Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo

shadow and bone.jpg

-A: Good story with characters that got better and a slow plot line

I finally read this book and I’m so happy! I feel like I’m in on everything now because if you didn’t know this series an the spin off series Six of Crows which I plan on starting soon are very popular and like everyone has read them. I have read this book before but it was the middle of exam week so I couldn’t come completely get into which made me sad but now that I’ve read it I feel so good and I can’t wait to start book two! I’m really excited to get more into the Grishaverse because this book was good! I might do a whole review for this book or I just might do a review of the whole series depends on how I’m feeling. It’s probably going to a series review. I really enjoy this book and the characters and the Darkling! I love him! He is just so great! I didn’t really like Mal he was kind of like the Jacob of this story. He was just there the whole time and got upset about the things she did and I was like please just shut okay! I’m planning on starting book two soon that should be in next month’s list.

The Thousandth Floor by Katherine McGee

F: Wasn’t a good read and a was a waste of time. Characters were dulled and annoying and so was the plot line.

I think my goodreads review should say how I felt about this book, What’s this new trend of having sibling characters get together? I’m not liking it. Um… this was one of those books where the characters just party, drink, and do drugs and someone dies and two characters who are siblings sort of have a thing. It’s literally a different version of Little Monsters with rich kids in a hotel! The only thing that I kinda of liked was that a different girl who died like I thought it was going to be someone else but it wasn’t.

The Wrath & the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh

the wrath and the dawn.jpg

+B: Had a weird pace and took me a while to like the characters.

The Wrath & the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh is a book that I had heard things about but I never got started on. I only picked this book up because I watched a video with Renee in it and she was so funny and when she talked about her books they sounded so interesting. Then I watched Natasha’s videos and she said that she loved the Wrath & the Dawn books and I was like I have to give her book a try. So I did and I really enjoyed it this book. I liked the characters. The main character wasn’t as badass as I thought she was going to be but I liked the route they took with her because unlike most characters were they set out for revenge they have no fear and are dead set on what they have to do but this girl as fear and they let you know that she has fear and she wants to survive which is a route that I loved that Renee took for this character. The male character if I’m being honest I wasn’t sure if I was going to like because before I started this book I was told that he was a giant dick but he wasn’t. I really liked him and their relationship was so interesting to watch form and I was sad with how it ended. I have book two ready for me to read so hopefully I get that done next month.

And that’s it for September! I’m ready for October like October is going to be great. I’m being Wynona Rider’s character from Stranger Things who are you guys going to be? My goal for October is to read more scary books. But that’s my goal very year and I always fail because I can get scared pretty easily but I’m at least just going to try and read one Stephen King novel. I do want to re read the Alice and Zombieland trilogy….. yes I said trilogy….. I’m pretending like book four isn’t real (all you need to know was that I was lied too). This wasn’t as long as the last one. Maybe because I didn’t read two F’s and I didn’t have a lot to rant about. I hope you enjoyed this review *many reviews and make sure to look out for more coming your way. You should follow my book club here and other social media links. I posted rants like this once a week every week. Look out for more reviews and other random posts. Confess TV Show Review | Epic Adaptations

Greetings Earthlings! Today I’m talking about the tv show, Confess, based off the book by Colleen Hoover which is my September book of the month!

confess tv shows

I did a review for the book which you can read here because it should be out by now. Let’s just hope that future Grace remembers to add the link. If you don’t know I have a book club called Epic Adaptations where every month I pick a book that has been turned into a TV or movie. Last month I reviewed Still Star-Crossed which I loved so much, you can read both reviews here and here. I was going to do the Handmaid’s Tale but I haven’t finished the show and I thought that it would work better in the month of October because the society in that book scares me so much!

This show follows Auburn, who works at an old folks home, and Owen, who is an artist and runs this art studio, and they have this whole romance thing going on and other dramatic stuff happens. If you read my review for the book then you should know that I liked the book but I didn’t think it was the best thing ever and that’s how I feel about this show. I mean it has some great moments and some emotional moments but I wasn’t that affected by everything that happened. It’s a good show don’t get me wrong but it wasn’t the best thing ever. The episodes were only like thirty minutes long which surprised me because I thought it was going to be an hour long thing but it wasn’t. There are only seven episodes as while which makes me wonder if it should have just been a movie instead of tv. I think that’s all I have for my non spoiler section so if you haven’t watched this show and you want to watch it then leave and then come back after you’ve watched it.

Okay so let’s just talk about Owen’s cat for a second because it looks like a stuff animal and I had to pause and laugh because what the hell? And they keep talking about him like he’s really a thing and I thought it was so funny! The show begins like the book begins and I was so emotional for that first scene I did not think I was going to do. In the book I wasn’t that emotional watching her and her old boyfriend whose name I don’t remember saying goodbye because he was really sick and she had to leave but I was crying for some reason. The rest of the episode after that didn’t you do it for me like it was cute like a romantic comedy but it wasn’t that enjoyable.

The acting for this show isn’t great. It’s fine. With every other word that they said I was like no no no. It’s very cheesy. We met AJ really early into the show and like we didn’t even know what was going on in her life until like half way through the book. In the first episode we learn that she is getting a lawyer because she wants full custody of her son and we see that Auburn doesn’t always say what she wants to say. Like with every texts she is like typing something and then deletes it and types something else. I think I like book Auburn more than tv shows Auburn because just she was better and funnier and more confident then this chick. Also the look they gave to Owen on this show to make him look like the guy from Fifty Shades whose name I don’t remember. He was on Once Upon A Time for like that first season. You know who I’m talking about.

I liked the guy who plays Owen, I mean he’s not the best actor like I said but I like him. Lydia was the chick from Gilmore Girls whose April’s mom and I didn’t realize that until I watched Natasha’s video. I couldn’t figure out where she was from and it was driving me crazy and then I watched her video and I felt like an idiot for not recognizing her. That’s all I have to say. I’m sorry I don’t have more but I’m not as opinionated on this as much as I have been for the other shows but I hated 13 Reasons Why and I was upset that Still Star Crossed was canceled.

Accuracy: 50%

There are things that are correct about this show like the characters, their relationships and then there are these details that are changed for no real reason like her relationship with her roommate, the place of the city, where she works. They are other things like the story is changed a little to add onto the plot lined and changed to go in a different order. I did enjoy this show even though at some moments I wasn’t all that entertained, some moments were really great and emotional. I’m going to give this show for B like the book for being good but not keeping really interested in the story all the way.

Rating: B for being great but not keeping me on my toes the whole time

I enjoyed this show and I would recommend that everyone who likes the book to go and watch it because you will enjoy it. Have you guys watched this show? What did you think of it? Did you like or did you hate it? Let me know! I hope you enjoyed this review and make sure to look out for more coming your way. You should follow my book club here and other social media links. Confess by Colleen Hoover Book Review!

Greetings Earthlings! Today I’m reviewing my September book of the month Confess by Colleen Hoover!

+B: Had a weird pace and took me a while to like the characters.

“Selflessness. It should be the basis of every relationship. If a person truly cares about you, they’ll get more pleasure from the way they make you feel, rather than the way you make them feel.”

I love Colleen Hoover books even though sometimes I don’t agree with some of the things that happen in them. I love them though and I’m trying to read all of them. My favorite one used to November 9th but I recently read It Ends With Us and it was so real and beautifully written and I loved. It’s super sad though and November 9th has sad moments but none of those compare to the moments in It Ends With Us. I need to stop talking It Ends With Us because I’m supposed to be talking Confess.

I’ve wanted to read Confess for awhile and I’ve had it on my list for so long. I was on hold for it for SO LONG! It finally became available in at the end of July so I checked it out and I read it and it’s a good book. It’s a Colleen Hoover so I’m gonna love it because I always love her books and I wanna say I loved this one but compared to my love for her other books I was like it’s good. I wasn’t like blow away or anything but it’s still a good book and I would recommend it and yes it has some sad moments which if you didn’t know I love sad things.

This book follows Auburn who lives in Texas I think. Like I thought it was Texas and then I watched the show and it’s like I’ve only been to LA once and I had to pause because I was shook. I couldn’t remember if the book took place in Dallas or LA. If you’ve read this book can you tell which one because I’m confused. Also this will come up again in my TV review if no one tells *let’s be real it’s still gonna be in there. (Update: I just watched Natasha’s review of the show and IT’S TEXAS PEOPLE) She does not like where ever she lives and wants to go back home to Portland. When she was younger, she moved because  she was in love and he was really sick and he did died. She mets Owen who runs this art studio called Confess and they start a relationship and it’s dramatic and it’s fun and it’s so good!

The whole time I’m wondering why the hell she didn’t just leave, I mean I know money problems and stuff but still. You then learn that she had a kid with her old boyfriend and she was so young that she gave his mom custody of him and kinda of figure that she would get him back but Lydia keeps him and has Auburn on like a schedule for when she can see him. There is also Trey who is a creepy little shit let me tell. I didn’t like him from the moment we met him. I was like you are shady as hell. He is just such a dick and I hate him. Like the things he says and the things he does like oh my god. Like when he relieves himself to be a complete asshole and hurts Auburn, I was surprised of what was happening but yet I was like I saw this coming.

I did like Owen, he was so good and so nice. Like his dad has some serious problems and he takes care of him and even goes to jail for him. He treats Auburn so great. That middle part with the time jump. I wasn’t too sure about but I liked that it was there. I didn’t like that she got with Trey because he is a creep. I loved the all the paintings that are in this book and I love the cover for this book. There are just so many good things about this book and if you are a Colleen Hoover fan then I would recommend it.

Is this my favorite book by her? No I mean it’s good and it’s enjoyable but it didn’t keep me on toes and have me losing my shit over what was happening. It’s still go through. Have you guys read these book? if you have what did you think of it? The GeekyGalaxy instagram is currently going under the works as I hate so I’m change it and making it like an business instagram and will have like little side posts on it. Also I have big news coming soon and I’m so excited to share it with you guys. My review for the show is next week so look out for that. I hope you enjoyed this post and make sure to look out for more coming your way soon. You should follow my book club here and other social media links. The Christine Riccio Book Tag!

Greetings Earthlings! Today I’m doing the Christine Riccio Book Tag!

I feel like I should start with the fact that I have never felt more like a stalker then I do right now. So I went on instagram this morning and found an account called @bookplosionandco who made this tag and I was like this sounds fun why don’t I do it. But then I started looking for a picture of Christine to make that banner and I felt like a stalker just trying to find a picture of her and man I don’t know it felt so weird. If you didn’t know Christine Riccio is a booktuber also known as Polandbananasbooks and I love her videos, she’s one of my many inspirations. She’s super funny and I love her. See that sounds weird well I’m writing this. Hopefully it doesn’t read as weird as it sounds right now. I really hope that this doesn’t lead to another person reading the wrong thing and blocking me on twitter. Okay I’m just gonna stop and get started on this and hope that I stop feeling weird.

Let’s began!

The First Book You ever Talked about on Your Social Media

(what was your username then)

I feel like I should mention that this was created for instagram but I like tags and I’m not that great of friends with my instagram so I wanted to do it on this blog. The first book I’ve talked about on this blog was Girl Online by Zoe Sugg which it’s an okay book but I’ve talked about that book so much that I’m not going to talk about as much anymore because I don’t like it! I do have a fan account and I’ll just use that for this question. I can’t be sure about this but I think the post I ever made on the geekygalaxy instagram was a fanart of Percy, Katniss, and Harry.

I think this because I remembering loving that fanart and I made it my icon so I’m thinking maybe that I made it my first post. And my username was feels fromthefandom.

Your Favorite book You’ve read this month So Far

I haven’t read that many books right now in the month of September but I read a lot in August and I made a whole post talking about all the books I read in August which you can read here *Look at that self promo. I’m going to pick a book from August because I can and my favorite book that I read during that month had to be Warcross by Marie Lu!

I have a whole review for this and it might be out by now. I have no clue when this is going to be posted so it may have or haven’t been posted. I really enjoyed this book. It was so much fun and had all these twists and turns and that ending! I really need to know what happens next okay! Like I need book two! *and now a message from Future Grace after reading like five books in September Hey guys it’s me two days before this is supposed to be posted and I have a favorite book that I’ve read in September which is Big  Little Lies and it was AMAZING!!! I’m going to watch the show soon hopefully.

If you write, what book really made you want to write stories youself

I love her writing videos they are just so great and so much fun. If you haven’t watched one of her writing videos then I recommend watching them because they are so great. If you haven’t watched Christine’s videos in general then you should because they are so much fun. I didn’t watch her writing videos at first but then I watched one and I was like I have to watch all of them. I wrote to these videos for awhile but then I finished watching them. I sound like a stalker again goddamn it! I have two books for this which are Harry Potter by JK Rowling and City of Bones by Cassandra Clare!

I mean a lot of stories give me ideas but I had some of my strongest ideas after reading these two books which are both amazing and everyone should read these books. If you haven’t already read Harry Potter. It drives me crazy when people are just like I hate Harry Potter and they haven’t even read the books. Like how can you hate it when you haven’t read it????? A lot of people don’t like Mortal Instruments but the main thing you have to know about the Mortal Instruments is that you have to push through City of Bones to get to the good stuff.

A book that was spoiled for you

I get spoiled all the times, it’s just something that happens to me. I hate that. I do get over it when I get spoiled but one I haven’t gotten over is the thing that happens in Dance with  Dragons.

Can you guess on what I got spoiled on for this book? It’s really easy. I was doing so good with avoiding spoilers for Game of Thrones like I had gotten through book one and no one had said anything but I started Clash of Kings and this was right after the season five finale had aired. I went to school with Clash of Kings and I was still doing a good job when my friend comes up to me is like ‘Can you believe that thing happened?’ but she didn’t say that she told me what happened and I was so upset! I haven’t gotten over it.

A book that caused you longest mourning period

No shocker here. I’m going with A Memory of Light by Robert Jordan and Brandon Anderson!

This book fucked me so bad and it was good and I cried so hard and I love every second of it. This book was so long and I loved it and it was the perfect ending well sort of. I wished that our group of best friends reunited. If you haven’t read Wheel of Time I would recommend it because it’s so good and there is news about a TV show so get reading. Just a little warning the books are giant and there are 13 books in this series.

A book that got you out of a reading slump

I recently got in a book slump and it was terrible I hated it. But luckily I found a book that Christine mentioned in one of her videos and I was like I’ll give it a try and it got me out of my book slump. Let me tell, getting out of book slump the feeling you get is amazing. It’s like a mix of pride and joy! Okay the book that got me out of my book slump was To Kill the Boy Band by Goldy Moldavsky!

kill the boy band

I didn’t think I would like this book. I would always see it at the bookstore and be like no I’m not going to get that but then I read this book and holy crap! It was so GOOD! It’s weirdly amazing and I enjoyed this so much. I would highly recommend this book because it’s so good! It just gets crazier and crazier with each page and it’s such a good book!

A book you could talk about FOREVER

Um.. it should be pretty obvious.

I love them all so much. They are just so amazing and wonderful and I love them and they WILL LIVE ON FOREVER AND EVER AND EVER!

Did you read any of the books and did you read them along with the Booksplosion?

OKAY so here’s the thing I have read the book for Booksplosion but I always read them after the book is no longer the book of the month. It’s not like I mean to do it but I never have the book until like a year or a couple months have pasted. I do have the book they did for August which was Little Monsters by Kara Thomas.

little monsters

If you read my Books I read in August post then you know that I read this only because it was a booksplosion book and you would also know that I hated it. I had so many issues with like underage drinking, the ending was unclear for me, and the friendships were just terrible. LIKE OH MY GOD these characters are just awful. I’m not going to spoil the book for you if you want to read but I really want to because it’s makes me so mad. They all loved unlike me. I think that they are doing Alexandra Brackens new book which I do own so I will be reading that in September. Even if it’s not their book of the month I’m still going to read it because I want too. *update they are doing it for their book of the month

Which book do people associate with you/think of when they think of you?

I suck at eyeliner let’s just talk about that. I would be better if I wore make up more but I’m too lazy to put make up on and I don’t like how make up feels on my face. When I first got eyeliner, I had such a hard time putting on my top eye lid that I stopped doing it and I only did it under my eyes like some me kid for the early 2000s. My mother was like you can’t just wear like that you look like a goth! I mean I can do it now but i still don’t wear a lot of make up. Any way a book that I think people associate me with is Eye of the World by Robert Jordan.

I need to pick a different book but honestly whenever people I’ve met or known hear something about Wheel of Time, they always call me up or talk to me and tell about it and always recommend books that have been recommend if you love Wheel of Time. I’ve convinced people to start reading this series because I talk about it so much.

Which fictional character would you name your pet after?

If we want to get real, one of my dogs is already named after a character. We didn’t mean to do because out of the characters we love we probably won’t have picked her. I mean if you are one of those people who give their dogs their last names then my dog’s name matches this characters name. But that’s not talk about that. If I got another dog, my dad and I have said that we would name our next dogs if we got another one either Ripley or Groot which I do love. I also what to named something Sebastian I don’t know why. I mean I call my computer Sebastian so that should be enough……. OKAY next questions!

Paul and Olivia

Your favorite fictional siblings

I really want to say the Weasley Siblings from Harry Potter but I’ve picked Harry Potter too many times. It was hard coming up with an answer that wasn’t Harry Potter because a lot of main characters don’t have siblings because most of the time they are an only child or their siblings are dead. I think I’m gonna go with the Blackthorn family from the Dark Artifices!

Raise your hand if your still emotional hurt by Lord of Shadows! *raises hand so high that you can’t even see it! like it’s in space! I like all these kids, they are all great and fun to read about and I’m super worried for Queen of Air and Darkness.

And that was the Christine Riccio book Tag! I hope you guys enjoyed reading. I wasn’t my best tag but I had a lot of fun doing this. I tag you guys to do this if you want to! More reviews and other fun things are coming out soon so look out for that! You should follow my book club here and other social media links. I posted rants like this once a week every week. Top Five Favorite Youtuber Books (because some of them are actually good)

Greetings Earthlings! Now I don’t really know why I’m making this as I feel like everyone should understand my feelings on youtubers books but I’m making it because I do like some books by Youtubers, I just never review them. The only one that I’ve reviewed and liked was Binge by Tyler Oakley. Surprisingly though some of these books are great and well written! I thought it would be nice to talk about the ones I like. ALSO BEFORE I GET STARTED I WOULD JUST LIKE TO SAY THAT I HAVE NOTHING AGAINST THESE YOUTUBERS OR THEM WRITING BOOKS. It’s the books I have problems with, not the people who wrote it or the fact that they wrote a book. Okay okay. Let’s began!

But first some dishonorable mentions.

*this should literally come as no surprise and they both have sequels that i meant read some day when i feel like spending money on nothing. read my reviews for both here and hereI shouldn’t be too mean to Children of Eden, I mean it started out fine and I was enjoying and it’s different from most dystopians but like I said before it wanted to do too many and it could have done all those things but this book is too short for all that. The writing is also not the best thing. Now Girl Online: On Tour is just terrible. It’s the worst thing ever. It makes Children of Eden look like a classic. It’s cheesy, it’s badly written, all the character go through storylines that underdeveloped them instead of making them grow as characters, and I didn’t enjoy it.

And some honorable mentions:

connor franta

I would put this book on my list because I remember readings and liking it but it’s been so long and I don’t really remember this book. According to my review from two years ago, I loved this book. Here’s that review: I don’t know why I thought this was being to be bad! Maybe it was because I didn’t really like Zoe and Grace’s books. This book was beautiful written and it had gorgeous pictures to go with the beautiful writing. Probably the best book I’ve read by a youtuber yet. I’m wondering if I should re read this but I haven’t watched a Connor Franta video in soooo long and I don’t really like him anymore but that’s because I haven’t watched him in like fifty years. Also I hate that this is called memoir because if I remember correctly he talks about more then one part of his life making it more autobiography then memoir.

*i got this book as an arc at ALA This would be on my list because I did enjoy this book but I was going through a book slump when I read it and I feel like I didn’t appreciate to the fullest level. I want to appreciate this book because it is good book and I love Sasha Alsberg, she is so sweet and was the first booktuber that I ever watched. I will reread this book and appreciate more to the level that it should be appreciated at, and then I will do a full review on it. I’m planing on doing that closer to the release date but I’m not of my slump and I’m like I NEED TO RE READ NOW!!! I’m getting ready to move in a couple months and I had to pack up some of my books which was really hard for me and I left Zenith out just in case I decided to re read early. Besides all that though, I enjoyed this book. I loved the characters, I loved the writing, and it was so good. This book is available for preorder and I know that because it’s not coming out until January of 2018. Go Preorder now!!!

Okay Rant over. Let’s began for reals!!!!

#5 Girl Online by Zoe Sugg

zoe sugg.jpg

+C: A work in progress. Okay writing, not so great characters and story line but pulled through and was readable.

This book mainly has a special place in my heart as it was the first thing I ever reviewed on this blog and you can read that review here. But just because it’s one of the first books I reviewed does not mean I like it. This book is cheesy but like cheesy in a good way sort. It’s like a bad tv-movie romantic comedy in book form which makes it both good and bad. The different from why the second book is worse is because this has new and different elements and the characters were likable. But with book two nothing really new was added and the characters were underdeveloped and I knew what would happen in that book before I even read it. One of things I don’t think about this book, and it still carries on in the second book, is that there is nothing real in this book. Nothing to make the characters relatable or for you to feel something from them. Penny has anxiety but it’s only mentioned like we don’t get a scene if I remember were she deals with it which I would have liked as a person with anxiety. There is also a lot surrounding this book as it was ghostwritten by someone else which is an interesting thing but we aren’t going to talk about that.

#4 I Hate Everyone but You by Gaby Dunn and Alison Raskin

-A: Good story with characters that got better and a slow plot line

This book is not out yet, well it’s not out as I’m writing this, but it is available for preorder. I got this book as an arc, well I didn’t really get it I went to ALA and when I was waiting in line for Lemony Snicket and I found this in a book in a box and the cover of the arc is so funny that I had to get it. SO if you left your arc in a box at ALA then I took it and I’m sorry…… not really I’m so glad I took this book from the book. I’m clearly the better book owner here so it as destiny that we found each other okay. DEAL! This book is pretty great and it is so funny. After I read this book, I was like I have to go and watch their videos and hopefully they are as funny as this and their videos are so funny and amazing and I love them. This book also feels real which was something that I liked and some writers need to learn from when writing books *COUGH! i need to stop throwing shade at Zoe’s books…… haha never! Go read this book guys. Well go preorder this book if it’s not out yet. I have no clue when this is coming out.

#3 Dan and Phil Go Outside by Dan Howell and Phil Lester

dan and phil.jpg

-A: Good story with characters that got better and a slow plot line

I love Dan and Phil. They are my favorite youtubers and I ship them and I’m like marathoning all of their gaming videos but that’s not important right now. When they announced the first book, I was liked YES THIS IS THE ONLY THING I CARE ABOUT! When they announced they were going on tour in america I was so excited but I didn’t get to go as one i don’t think they went anywhere near me and two I was in school during that time so I wouldn’t be able to go. Then they came out with those movies about the tour and I was excited but then disappointed again as it was only available on Youtube Red which is 12.99 PER MONTH!! that’s dumb. I mean I did watch it I bootlegged it on the internet *don’t judge me but still I was sad. So when a book came out that had their journey on tour, I was like yes! That’s all this book was, just them talking about the tour with all their pictures from tour which was still fun and I very much enjoyed. The only problem is that this book was hard to read on kindle.

#2 Binge by Tyler Oakley

+ A: Perfect story with get characters and fantastic plot line.

*just a weird thing that I just learn you can change the sizes of pictures in wordpress…. HOW AM I JUST FIGURING THIS OUT NOW? I don’t know why 2015 Grace thought A Work in Progress was her favorite book by a youtuber book because that same year this book and The Amazing Book is Not on Fire come out that year and I was so excited that I preordered them and I don’t preorder a lot of books. Maybe I read that and then read this book. I loved this book it was so amazing. It made my favorites list for 2015 if you remember or seen that post. I love Tyler Oakley so when he announced that he was writing a book, it was the first time I ever cared about a youtuber writing a book. I have a whole review talking about  how much I loved this book which you can read here. It just so great. Honestly concerned this tied with the number one book but I wanted an odd number for this list. This book is funny, it’s heartwarming, it makes you laugh and it will make you cry. Go read this book.

#1 The Amazing Book is Not on Fire by Dan Howell and Phil Lester

+ A: Perfect story with get characters and fantastic plot line.

The book that I own to copies of which breaks my number one of books that I will only own one copy of a book. I first got this book on kindle and I preordered it but because I live in the US I didn’t get the book until five after the book came out in the UK and I was so mad because I was so looking forward for this book and the date that was supposed to be world wide wasn’t world wide. I still got it and I was happy that I got it and my anger disappeared but like with DAPGO it’s a very hard book it read on kindle. BUT THEN for Christmas, my friend was getting rid of her copy and I was like no give to me as a present   because I want a hard copy and she did and it’s so beautiful and I love it so much. I’ve read it like four times because i love it so much. It’s like their channels in book form and they are my favorite youtubers and I like rewatch their videos so many times. I’ve always wanted to review this book but it would be such a hard book to review. Maybe one day, I’ll review it but I don’t know what right now.

Well that’s it for this post. It wasn’t even a top 10 and it’s the same word count as a top 10. There are more youtuber books out there but either they aren’t out or I don’ remember reading them. I thought about putting some John Green books on here but I didn’t. Did you agree with what I had to said? If not then tell me. What are some of your favorite books by youtubers? Tell if you think I should read. I hope you enjoyed this post and make sure to look out for more coming your way soon. You should follow my book club here and other social media links. I posted rants like this once a week every week. Look out for more reviews and other random posts. Like, Comment, and follow for more rants like these! Books I Read This Month! | August

Greetings Earthlings! Today I’m talking about all the books I read this month! So if you didn’t know, I was going to do my Summer Reads again like I did last year but I read so many books this summer that I just give up and I decided not to post it this year. Hopefully I’ll continue doing this and not give up on it like I did with the Summer Reads thing. This is basically I wrap up which a lot of people do but I’ve never done one because a lot people do them and I like to be away from the crowd and two because I read really fast and I don’t have a life so I read a lot of books very month. But I’m doing this because I have lots of opinions and I don’t review a lot of the books I read which makes me sad. So I’m doing this and I’m not calling it a wrap up because I like pretending that I’m like I have a different idea! *it’s basically a wrap up but i’m in denial. this is a really long intro

Let’s begin!

Windfall by Jennifer E. Smith

+B: Had a weird pace and took me a while to like the characters.

I enjoyed this book which was surprising as it was a lot happier then I thought it was going to be. I mean it’s not the happiest book in the world like a lot of the characters have real issues that they go through and it’s sad but it’s a book about a lottery and a girl in love with her best friend and the lottery has an effect on their relationship. Like by that small summary which I was given by watching book tubers, I was just like this book will probably be sad and emotional and angsty and I love me so angsty books. Like everyone hates New Moon but that’s my favorite one the whole series because ANGSTY central. But this wasn’t as angsty as I had hope as I had thought that the lottery would have a negative on their relationship but it didn’t. I did enjoy this book and I would recommend this book to people who are interested in it and like books like this.

Dying to Return by Trish Marie Dawson

dying to return.jpg

F: Wasn’t a good read and a was a waste of time. Characters were dulled and annoying and so was the plot line.

Wow this was really and epically disappointing. You know when you read a series and the first book was AMAZING and the second was ALSO AMAZING! And I was looking forward to reading this book and I started it and um this book was terrible. Okay so the main problem I had with this book was that it completely changes from what the other two books had. The first two books in the Station series is about a girl who commits suicide and she wakes up in this place called the Station where people who committed go after they die and they are given the job to stop others from committing suicide. But then book two ends with our main lead being taking away and I thought maybe they’ll bring her back to life or send her to hell but instead she’s taken to another planet in space……. where they communicate through their minds…… YEAH YOU READ THAT RIGHT! It’s probably explained better in the book but I was too busy being in what the hell mood to try and understand. I couldn’t even finish it like I was so mad and disappointed cause I spent my birthday amazon gift car on this. Turns out there is a book four which I will only read when it’s on sale or free at the library.

Warcross by Marie Lu

-A: Good story with characters that got better and a slow plot line

So I’m doing a full review which might be out by the time this is out. Probably not. But the point is I’m not going to give my whole opinion on the book right now so that you all will have to read that review. I got this book at ALA as an arc so it’s probably not out yet. It comes out September 12, 2017 so if you are interested in it then you can get then. I have a story with this book. So I went to ALA and I was looking at who was going be there and I saw that Marie Lu had a signing the first day at 10:00 and I was like no way am I missing this. So the next morning I’m ready to go and get my signed book but my family isn’t ready. A couple minutes later we ready to go but then my cousin is like wait I’m not ready give me a couple more minutes. A couple minutes turned out to be 15 minutes and suddenly it’s ten clock and I’m still at the hotel! We finally leave the hotel and i get to center and it’s 10:45 and then there is the sign that says the line is closed. On day three of ALA I’m still a little sad but then my sister and I see a sign that says Marie Lu WARCROSS signing and I’M LIKE YES! Almost missed her again because the Alexandra Bracken signing was long but my mom held my spot in line and I got to met Marie Lu! I very much enjoyed this book which didn’t surprise me as I love Marie Lu her books are so amazing. I honestly thought though this was going to be more emotional then it was. I guess I’m still hurt from the impact that the Legend books had on me *if you’ve read those books then you understand. I did enjoy this book and I would say more but I want you to read my review so look out for that.

A Whole New World by Liz Braswell

a whole new world.jpg

+B: Had a weird pace and took me a while to like the characters.

I love fairytale retellings! They are really great! When I say fairytale retellings I mean new things are added and the story line is changed so that you can still feel the original story but it’s not the same. Which is great if you don’t like some of the elements of the original. I don’t mean the whole let’s copy and paste the original story, change the names and the setting, and instead of losing her shoe she loses something like  her phone, her iPod, her virginity or her fish whatever it’s gone. I read As Old as Time which is also apart of A Twisted Tale series and I really enjoyed that book so I figure I should read another one. The whole point of this series is that Liz Braswell takes a fairytale and adds or changes something from the story and it creates something a interested fairytale. I liked this a little more then I liked AS Old as Time because As Old as Time the half of that book is Beauty and the Beast the movie in book form before it’s changes things up but with this book it changes into a different story faster and even though there are still somethings from the movie but the dialogue is different so yeah. I did think that As Old as Time was a little more interesting then this as sometimes I was enjoying it and sometimes I would be like okay can we just move forward. Oh yeah this is an Aladdin retelling by the way because I didn’t say before.

Heartless by Marissa Meyer

-A: Good story with characters that got better and a slow plot line

Again I love retellings and I also love retellings of villains or villain back stories because a lot of time you get to look at them a different way and that’s what you with this book. I feel like I should start with the fact that this was heartbreaking! I always forget when I start books about what villains are like before they become villains that the books aren’t going happy ending. I started reading and I got Lock and Mori flashes backs because I know this isn’t going to be happy in the end because we all know about the Queen of Hearts and how she is crazy for chopping off heads. I love / hate origin stories of villains because it makes you care about them and you watch their lives go down hill and suddenly they become bad people and it’s sad! I enjoyed this book even though I had a hard time getting into it as I remembered what was probably waiting for me. One thing I do like about reading about villains before they were villains is see that final push that shoves them over that psychotic edge and how Catherine it broke my heart. The boy she loved was killed and the guy was going to be freed and married someone she didn’t want to marry after all that her parents are just like ‘are you sure this what you want? because if it’s not then you don’t have to do’ and if I’m being honest I wanted to scream when I read that scene like she told what she wanted in the beginning and you were like NO and now after everything your finally asking that question! I liked this book Marissa Meyer as done it again and I would recommend this book to others.

The Upside of Unrequited by Becky Albertalli

upside of unrequited.jpg

+B: Had a weird pace and took me a while to like the characters.

This was written by the author of Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda which is a very popular book and is being turned into a movie soon so that’s cool and has nothing to do with this book. This book is about unrequited love if you couldn’t tell and it follows a girl who has had twenty six crushes in her life and has never had a boyfriend. Her twin sister on the other has hooked up with people and had girlfriends. The two sisters have a good friendship but once her sister begins a new relationship that has an effect on their friendship. I related so hard to this book as a person who has had a lot of crushes but never a boyfriend. Like I read this while I was backstage at my show and I had to stop because I was going to cry and I had blue and purple paint on my face and if I cried it would have ruined my makeup and people would yell at me for messing it. The one day I wear make up is the one day I need to book cry.  But yeah I really enjoyed this book because what the main character was describing was how I feel whenever I have a crush a someone and they are into someone us or have a girlfriend or just aren’t interested in me.

November 9th by Colleen Hoover

+ A: Perfect story with get characters and fantastic plot line.

This is like my fourth time re reading this book. It’s the second time I’ve read it this year. I usually only allow myself to re read a book once a year but for some reason I decide I need to re read this book. If I’m being honest it’s because I finally read Confess which is my September book of the month and once I read a Colleen Hoover book I have to read all of them because her books are like crack and I’ll read them over and over again then I’ll stop and then she’ll release another one and I’m back in the same boat that I was in before. This used to be one of my favorite ones by her but I recently read It Ends With Us and that makes was sad and real so you know I love it. I just like this book because it’s a fun romance with lots of drama. The only thing I have to complain about is Colleen Hoover gives her male characters a giant flaw that you makes me wonder if I should still like them or not. *spoilers because i need to talk about this See in this book we learn that the male character, Ben, sets fire to Fallon’s house before they started dating when Fallon was a teenager and she is injure from it. He didn’t mean to hurt her, he was mad at her dad and didn’t even know about Fallon but every time I read this book I still don’t know what to do with this relationship. Tell me what you think.

Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover

-B: Could has better and was too slow and only got good at the end

This was the first book I read by Colleen Hoover and it’s not even my favorite but for some reasons I keep re reading it and I have no idea why. Again I’ve read this twice this year for some reason! The thing about this book is that it’s very cheesy and I knew that they were going to get a happy ending and compared to all of her other books I just don’t love it as much as her other books. I’m being so negative right. I’m not saying I hate this book, it’s a good book with again another male character with a giant flaw and I don’t know if I’m supposed to still like him and feel bad or grossed out. But it’s a good book!

Little Monsters by Kara Thomas

little monsters.jpg

F: Wasn’t a good read and a was a waste of time. Characters were dulled and annoying and so was the plot line.

*sighs I got this book at ALA and I got it because Kara Thomas wrote the Darkest Corners a book that I have not read or planing on reading after reading this book but it was a book that everyone talked about. I picked up this book because it was the Bookplosion book of the month and I never have the book that they pick out and I was like I HAVE A BOOKPLOSION BOOK FOR THIS MONTH I mean I got weirdly happy that I finally had their book of the month. My excited so died when I read the summary and I’m like this sounds like Riverdale and my brain was no put the fucking book down but I was like let’s not judge it just by that. It’s just summary. I’ll give it a try, I mean I did give Riverdale a try and I ended but hating it but this could be different. I could like it. HAHAHAHAHAHA! Yeah I didn’t like this book. Well let’s just start with the fact that it has underage drinking, step siblings hooking up, an ending that I’m not to sure about how really killed that chick, some very questionable friendships. So yeah I guess this could be Riverdale in book form. Like the point is I don’t support the things in this book and I didn’t find the main lead interesting and I wasn’t able to connect with her.

Here’s my goodreads review: Well I was pretty bored reading this and then the ending came and we learn things about then main character that I didn’t like. I didn’t sign up for Riverdale in book form

The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald

+C: A work in progress. Okay writing, not so great characters and story line but pulled through and was readable.

I went into this book with really low expectations for this book which is what I think made me like more then I thought I would. I had to read this for my english class and I read it like two hours because it’s so short. I honestly I didn’t hate this book, I mean is it the best book in the whole Universe? No I mean the character in this book aren’t that likable and are flawed and Gatsby and Daisy aren’t even that great of couple. Daisy annoyed me so much like every other sentence she’s asking who someone is like even at one point she asks who Tom is and I’m like girl that’s your husband! I found this book okay, I didn’t find any reasons to love but I didn’t find any reason to hate it either so. It’s an okay book.

Once and For All by Sarah Dessen

once and for all.jpg

-C: Was expecting more than I got. Characters didn’t get any development until halfway.

I don’t know why but for some reasons I can’t get into Sarah Dessen books. This is the third book I’ve read by her and again I can’t connect with any of this book. Every time I pick her books, I read the summary and the book sounds great but then I read it and I’m disappointed. The same thing happened with this book it sounded so cute but I didn’t really like it. I couldn’t connect with the story or the characters and did Ambrose and Louana even get together because I feel like they didn’t even have any romantic scenes together. I didn’t really enjoy this book I enjoyed the idea of this book and I wish I had went and gotten Big Little Lies instead of getting this book because I wanted Big Little Lies more but I thought I enjoy this book more so I didn’t get Big Little Lies.

Well that was fun. I enjoyed ranting about the books I’ve read this month. I can’t wait to do another one of these again. Hopefully you agreed with everything I had to say, you probably didn’t let’s be honest. I read two books this month that were Fs. I’ve never so many Fs in one month. Hopefully it’s just a one time thing. Please let it be a one time thing. This was surprising long. I mean 3000 words. Guess I had too much fun ranting. I enjoyed this more then I enjoyed Romeo and Juliet! | Still Star-Crossed by Melinda Taub review

Greetings Earthlings! Today I’m reviewing my August book of the month Still Star-Crossed by Melinda Taub!

still star crossed

+B: Had a weird pace and took me a while to like the characters.

In fair Verona, enemies still walk the streets. Two news hearts. Same two families.”

So I feel like I should start with the fact that I started watching the show before I read this book. I’m sorry. DON’T JUDGE ME! I didn’t know that this was based off a book until like episode four and I couldn’t get the book for awhile and then I finally found it the library and then I read it and then I finished the show and it’s now my book of the month so here we are. I also feel like I should say that I don’t like Romeo and Juliet or Shakespeare that much ….. again with the judgment. I’m sorry but Romeo and Juliet is so instalovey and they knew each other for three days and they got married and died. That’s not the best relationship ever. Why do all the weirdest relationships get praised as the best things ever and relationship goals. Like Catherine and Heathcliff, Edward and Bella, Tate and Violet, that Grey guy and his girlfriend *i don’t know their names, and of course Romeo and Juliet. They aren’t healthy! I don’t like Shakespeare because his characters also make the wrong decision instead of DOING THE REASONABLE THINGS AND JUST TALKING!!! Okay I’m done talking about that let’s get on with the review.

This book takes place after Romeo and Juliet have died but instead of the families coming to peace like they did in the book, they start fighting again and it’s even worse this time around. Juliet’s statue is destroy and chaos is going through the streets and the prince Escalus decides that he needs these people to stop. He decides that two of these people need to get married from the families and the two picked are our leads for this story, Rosaline and Benvoli. I enjoyed this story, it’s very fun, it’s filled with romance and action, the relationships are great. This is so much fun and I loved it.

I loved Benvolio and Rosaline’s relationship. It wasn’t instalovely like Romeo and Juliet’s relationship. At first they don’t really get a long but then they do and they start trusting each other and they fall in love and I love it. It’s better then Romeo and Juliet in my opinion. I love when they reunite and she tells him that Ecalus proposed to her and he is like what did you say and she just keeps talking and making him wait and he’s like ‘just tell me what you said’ and she tells that him that she can’t marry Ecalus because she loves him. It’s just so cute! Unfortunately the book ends like the next page after this scene and I’m like I wanted more.

Ecalus is an okay character, he is kind of a dick in this book. I like TV Ecalus better, I mean he has his issues but he was nicer in the beginning. I also like TV shows Isabelle more then book Isabelle but that’s because we don’t see a lot of her in this book. Can we talk about that she is marry to Don Pedro who is a character in Much Ado about Nothing and she mentions Benedick and I’m like I UNDERSTOOD THAT REFERENCE!! I even if  I didn’t like Much Ado About Nothing… again his characters need to talk shit out before completing actions.

I enjoyed this book so much and I would recommend this book to romance lovers and people who like happy making books. Have you guys read this book? If you have did you love it or did you hate it? I hope you guys liked. My review for the tv is coming soon, like it’s scheduled to come out next week. I have so many new post schedule. Like I have the rest August and the first two weeks of September. I’m excited for the next couple weeks. I like that I will do Confess by Colleen Hoover or The Handmaid’s Tale. I might save the Handmaid’s Tale for October as I’m not that done with the show and the society scares the shit out of me.
