Books I Read This Month! | November

Greetings Earthlings! Today I’m talking about the books I read in the month of November of 2017! I have one from the month of October which you can read here. Aka the wrap up that I don’t call a wrap up because I don’t want to call it that. I only read six months this month and that really disappoints me. I had NaNoWrimo this month which I won so I didn’t get around to reading a lot but I still tried so. Let’s began!

The Rose & The Dagger by Renee Ahdieh

the-rose-the-dagger.jpg

-B: Could has better and was too slow and only got good at the end

I read the first book in September and I started this in October but I wasn’t able to finish in the month because stuff is happening in my life. I’m finished now. I really enjoyed this book. I enjoyed it more then the first book. It was so good. I thought it was a step up from the first book and I really it liked it. it’s not my favorite book ever but I still I really liked it. I read this on the car ride to State and it kept me entrained. I would recommend this book if you want to read it or you enjoy intense romance books.

Want by Cindy Pon

want.jpg

D: Nothing seem to happen. The characters had a bad attitude or were boring until the end. Story didn’t know what it wanted.

I went into this book with high expectations because I’ve heard great things about Cindy Pon and the cover of the book looks so cool! But again I read this on the ride to State and I wasn’t really entrained. I’m thinking maybe I should give this book another chance but I just didn’t like this book. The timeline was kind of confusing and the characters were really dull. I wish I had liked this book.

The Savage Song by Victoria Schwab

savage song

-A: Good story with characters that got better and a slow plot line

I’ve been wanting to read this book for awhile and I was hoping to read it around Halloween but I didn’t get to it until this month and after reading this book I can say that I wish I had read this book sooner because it was so amazing. I loved the character and I loved the story. It was so good and I understand why people love it. I can’t wait to read Our Dark Duet which is the sequel to this book. There were so parts were I would drift away but then I would be pulled back into it. Hopefully I can get to that before the end of the year.

Furthermore and Whichwood by Tahereh Mafi

+B: Had a weird pace and took me a while to like the characters.

I’ve read some of Tahereh Mafi books before I read Shatter Me and that was a little over hyped for me so I couldn’t get through it. I found an arc of Furthermore and Whichwood in my house and I heard everyone talking about Whichwood so I started that one first before getting like a 100 pages into and realizing that maybe I should read Furthermore first. You probably don’t have to read them first because Whichwood is a companion book but I felt like I had too. Because I felt like I could get to know the characters before and understand the world more. I liked both books the same amount. Furthermore took me a little longer to like but because I expected it to be like Whichwood which was kind of dark and mysterious and I liked that. Once I got into Furthermore I did really enjoy it. Both worlds are really interesting and creative to reading about. I liked the writing Whichwood more because it was so creative and weird creepy and I loved it.

Dating You / Hating You by Christina Lauren

71b4yv3BLzL

+C: A work in progress. Okay writing, not so great characters and story line but pulled through and was readable.

I’ve been wanting to read a Christina Lauren book for awhile and I finally got to this book. Usually I don’t read romance books with Enemies to Lovers stuff because I get really get into them and I usually find the relationships not the best. Also a lot of time the guys are real jerks. I really enjoyed this book the characters with entraining at some points. I mean it wasn’t my favorite book like it was cliche at some points but it did ask about real things like working in the office when you are woman as Evie has a boss who isn’t the best and there are lines that talk about how he isn’t the best when it comes to women. I did enjoy parts of this book but I did think that the prank seemed like something out of a middle school book. It was good like I said I don’t like romance but if you do then I think you should read this book.

I know! This is an all time low for books I’ve read this month. Like I said I had NaNoWrimo which I won! I know I already said that but I’m so happy that I won because I’ve never won before. I’ll make a post about that later but a way this month wasn’t a good month for me as I also moved. So yeah. Things are really crazy right now. Grace’s Reaction to Love, Simon Trailer!

Greetings Earthlings! Today I’m talking about my thoughts and feelings about the Love, Simon trailer!

*warning! I talk about both the trailer and the book so spoilers

So it’s out in the world and I have a lot of things on it! I have never done one of these before and I probably won’t do it again as I don’t really watch trailers anymore. Trailers give me anxiety about movies I’m really excited for and I get really scared and I like about them until I get really bad aches. There have been a lot of Books to Movie Adaptation in the works this year and I’m excited for a lot of them including this one but I watched the trailer because I wanted to even though I knew I shouldn’t and now I have a lot of anxiety!

Let’s just start with the whole trailer in general. Well it’s a good first trailer, it gives you a feel for the characters and the story without giving you a lot of information on them. Literally the only thing that you really learn about anyone is that Simon is gay and he is in high school that it’s! Which is good. You can’t give away the plot in the whole trailer or then no one is going to go see it and it’s also trailer #1 so when more trailers come out we will probably get more and I need more! I thought the straight people coming out scene was funny with their parent’s reaction. I’m guessing that’s like a fantasy scene in Simon’s mind. There is also like a clip of Simon almost kissing someone under the mistletoe and is that a fantasy thing too? Or is that something that is happening? I’m confused! And that’s thing with this trailer, it has confused me!

I mean I did like it and I’m excited about the movie but it has confused me to the point where I had to write a blog post about it! We see Simon looking at Bram and then Bram is kissing someone and he seems upset about it. What was that? I’ve checked like five times on IMBD and it says that it is Bram so like what the fuck is happening!! I know it’s just a trailer and it’s hasn’t given us a lot to go on but if we are following the plot of the movie then you might what to be a little better at keeping secrets!

I probably just need to calm down and wait for the next trailer. Becky Albertalli if you are reading can you tweet me everything is going to be okay. In fact can everyone just tweet me everything is going to be okay. This is a short post but it was never going to be long in the first so. I hope you enjoyed this really random post and make sure to look out for different and a little more sane posts coming your way soon. You should follow my book club here and other social media links. I posted rants like this once a week every week. Look out for more reviews and other random posts. Well that was emotional and I’m so super sad | Final Fall by Heather W. Petty review

Greetings Earthlings! Today I’m review the third and final book in Lock and Mori series, which is Final Fall by Heather W. Petty!

WARNING SPOILERS

18883196._UY2114_SS2114_

-A: Good story with characters that got better and a slow plot line

Before we get into much into the book, I would just like to thank Heather who sent me an arc of this book which was signed and I also got a cool little book mark to go with it. I always like it when authors give out bookmarks. It’s nice! So I couldn’t wait for the release date of this book for me to read like I planned. I was going to be start and wait for November to read but it came in the mail today I got so excited and I had to read! In case you are confused because this will be published the day after the books release, I’m writing this in past! I have a review for Lock & Mori and than I have a review for the sequel Mind Games so check those out if you haven’t. If you don’t know Lock & Mori is a take on the Sherlock Holmes Story where it shows the relationship of Sherlock and James Moriarty before they became enemies and Moriarty is a girl.

I loved book one and book two so I was really excited but scared for book three. IF you’ve been here before then you know that I love books that explain how villains turn bad but I also don’t because it’s so sad watching them go from having people they love to becoming such a terrible person. That’s what this trilogy is though like you watch Lock and Mori fall in love in the first book and then you watch their relationship slowly falling apart through book two and book three and it’s so sad because they love each other and they still do after this book! It just makes me so sad!! Like this book let me tell you I was worried that I wasn’t going to like it because it is a very small book. I don’t know if it’s just my arc or if it’s just like that in general. I kind of like that it was short though because we have a main focus on the story and we didn’t waste any time with other things. I was upset at first that there was a time jump but now that I think about that I’m glad that it was there because I hate Alice and I just wanted her and her brothers to get the hell out of there.

I hate Alice. She sucks and she is the reason that Lock and Mori have this really messed up relationship. ITS ALL YOUR FAULT!!! Not to repeat myself but she sucks. Literally that first couple chapters with Alice and the guard I was like maybe this book isn’t so great but then we jump into the future and Mori has been trained and she has revenge on her mind and she isn’t backing it out. Her escaping and trying to save her brothers was so insane. The whole scene that involved her getting out was so intense. I’m debating if  I would have wanted to see Mori get trained because I want to see her descent into madness. I know that sounds weird but Heather W. Petty is so good at writing Mori get darker with each book. I also think it would have been a little dragging for the story and I probably would have been like ‘Ugh where Lock? Why is this happening?’.

Lock though I wanted to cry whenever he and Mori had a scene together!! When she goes into his house and into his room. When he comes in and she’s hiding in his room and Sherlock is just ‘Either you touched this once or you just walked by and that’s your perfume I smell.’ It was something like that and when I read it I got so sad! Also John and Sherlock were hanging out at Sherlock’s house. I can not describe to you how happy I was to read that part like I was smiling just writing this. If you didn’t know this because I’ve talked about it in both of my reviews if you don’t know the lack of John Watson in these books has been really upsetting for me. It’s still a small scene but it’s John and Sherlock talking and it makes me happy! When Mori is talking to Mycroft and he is like I need to pretend to be his enemy and she was like I can make him hate me for feel. It was too much! She still loves him! With that finally line about how she would never love another boy like she loved Sherlock Holmes and my heart just shattered.

Sherlock just wants to talk to Mori and pull her out of this mess and get her out of the killing spree she is on *she kills a lot of people in this book. He just wants to help to her!!! This book guys it’s just so amazing and wonderful and heartbreaking!!! Guys just go read this series because it’s wonderful and heartbreaking. I do kind of wish that we had gotten some sort of epilogue but then we don’t really need one because we know what happens next. Well that’s it for this review! You guys need to read this series because it’s so good and I can’t wait to see what else Heather has to write about. I hope you enjoyed this post and make sure to look out for more coming your way soon. Surprising I really liked this book! | Tower of Dawn by Sarah J. Maas

Greetings earthlings! Today I’m review Tower of Dawn by Sarah J. Maas, the sixth book in the Throne of Glass series!

WARNING SPOILERS

tower of dawn

-A: Good story with characters that got better and a slow plot line

“Don’t you waste one heartbeat now being afraid of a coward who hunts women in the darkness.”

I wasn’t sure if I was going to review this book but I’ve review all the other books in Throne of Glass so I was like why not? I case you’re new here I have reviews for all the Throne of Glass books. I have a review Throne of Glass, Crown of Midnight, Heir of Fire, Queen of Shadows, and Empire of Storms so if you would like to read one then click on the names of the books or just go look at the Throne of Glass category on the side. For some reason I want to call this book seven and I did the same thing with Empire of Storms like I was always being like ‘reading book six’ and then realizing that it’s book five and what the hell am i talking about.

This book is basically what Chaol was doing during the events of Empire of Storms because if you don’t remember he was only mentioned in Empire of Storms and it was great! If you don’t know I hate Chaol. Ever since book one I was hated him and in every book since then he has just gotten worse and worse. He is just so winy, and kinda of boring, and he is a real jerk to Aelin in the beginning and I hate him! But so many people love him it turns out which is weird. I like Dorian and my best friend likes Dorian but everyone else like ‘CHAOL OH MY GOD I LOVE HIM’. They talk about Chaol the way I talk about Tom Holland and Harrison Osterfield. I got my mom to read Throne of Glass and I was like ‘what do you think of Dorian?’ and she’s just like ‘Oh he’s nice but I like Chaol’ and I was just in shock. I had low expectations for this book because I didn’t even really want to read it. Even when it was going to be a novella I was like no. But because it’s book six and I love Throne of Glass so I read it and to my surprise I really enjoyed it.

*gasps for effects! I know! Crazy right? But it was a lot of fun, Chaol was enjoyable to read about, I love Yrene, and I loved the story and I just love Sarah J. Maas books!! They are so good! I liked Chaol in this book like I enjoyed reading his point of view. I mean at first I enjoyed Yrene’s point of view but then I soon enjoyed them both. Yrene and Chaol oh my god I really enjoyed reading about them and their story. They went from hating each other to loving each other and they got married! So I guess now that Chaol is married we can finally claim that Chaol and Aelin is a die ship. Yay. I’m glad that he is happy though this book was good! Nesyrn though reading about her and Chaol and that she was still sort of holding on to. When she saw him and Yrene together and run away, I was so sad. I’m sad that this series is ending and that I have to wait like a whole another year for the next book to come out which sucks. This book was really good and I think that if you enjoy Throne of Glass then you should read this book. Did anyone else read this book because I saw anyone haul it but then no one did a review on it. What happen? Was it not worth reviewing?

Nesyrn was so great in this book and I just wanted to protect her. And weirdly a part of me was still hoping that maybe her and Chaol would patch things up but they didn’t and I was okay with that because he and Yrene seem to just go with each other. Nesyrn though when she sees Yrene and Chaol and they are like having a moment and she gets upset and she just leaves with that guy. The note she left for Chaol and it took him like forever to get it, I knew that he was going to get upset and like yell at Yrene because Chaol is a whiny little child and because that’s what normally happens in this types of situation. That happened and I just wanted to like hug everyone and at the same time just talk them in a room and have them talk about everything. I’m excited for what happens next and I’m very happy that I enjoyed this book. Guys just read this book because even if you don’t like Chaol then you’ll stay enjoy this book. It’s not my favorite book in the series that title is currently being held by Heir of Fire and Empire of Storms but this book still is amazing and beautiful written. Sarah was done another great job with writing this book.

And that’s it for my Tower of Dawn book review! I’m so sad that we only have one more book left but I hope it goes off with a bang! And it probably will. Well I hope because if I’m being honest I was disappointed by ACOWAR and I’m hoping that whatever book seven is going to be better and I’m interested into seeing whatever Sarah is going to be doing next. I have no clue whatever posts are coming soon because I’m writing this in the past. I hope you enjoyed this post and make sure to look out for more coming your way soon. Books I Read This Month! | October

Greetings Earthlings! Today I’m talking about the books I read in the month of September of 2017! I made a post for the month of September which you can read here and please do because I had fun doing this. If you are wondering what this is, it’s basically a wrap up that I didn’t want to call a wrap up. I read eleven books this month and I enjoyed them….. Some of them! Let’s begin!

Final Fall by Heather W. Petty

18883196._UY2114_SS2114_

-A: Good story with characters that got better and a slow plot line

I have a whole review coming soon once the book comes out so I’m not going to talk about all of my feelings right now. Also I would like to thank Heather for sending me the copy of this book. I won it a giveaway and she sent me an arc that was signed and had a super cool bookmark. I was so happy to read this book before it came out because I could not wait for November. This book broke my heart. It was sad and emotional and I can’t believe that this series is over. I finished thinking that there was going to be a book four but then I remembered that this is end. Well I’m guessing it’s the end. I’m not going to be mad if Heather was just like here’s book four I would love but I’m looking on the more realistic side which is that this is Lock and Mori’s final story together. This book was amazing again I would 100% recommend this series to Sherlock lovers and book lovers all around because it’s amazing!

Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo

14061955.jpg

+B: Had a weird pace and took me a while to like the characters.

I’ve made to book two ladies and gentlemen! Is everyone proud of me? You should be because this series is hitting the over hype scale. The first book was good and I talked about it in my last post and I really enjoyed it. This one however was not as great as the first one I’m not saying that I hated it but it’s not the best thing in the whole world. It was kind of a let down. I mean it was still a good book but we were kind of just drifting along through the story and I’m really had hard time enjoy this book. I like Mal a little more than I did in this first book but he and Alina’s relationships was so annoying. It’s the hero move were they clearly want to be together but they aren’t and they get kept getting jealous and upset like it’s so annoying. Also the Darkling felt more like a footnote in this book which I didn’t like. So good book but the first one was better.

Ruin and Rising by Leigh Bardugo

14061957.jpg

+C: A work in progress. Okay writing, not so great characters and story line but pulled through and was readable.

Again this book was a let down. I didn’t really enjoy this book as much as I enjoyed the first book because with this book I kind of realized that this book doesn’t really seemed to have a plot. Like the first book was setting everything up and leading up to this epic sequels but then with this and book two we honestly just feel like we are just floating around in this world and not really doing anything. And Darkling didn’t really have a path that made him good which made me mad because what the hell? You made me like him and then have him be a bad guy that feels more like a footnote to me. I was just so upset with this book and honestly guys maybe it’s just because this overhyped because everyone talks about it. Maybe her other series will be better like Wonder Woman or maybe I just don’t like the Grishaverse because I read Six of Crows *that’s on this list and again I find myself struggling to read it and like it. Leigh Bardugo needs to stop writing good books so that everyone will stop overhyping them for me.

I hate everyone but you by Gaby Dunn and Allison Raskin

51qiSnm2q1L._SX329_BO1,204,203,200_

+ A: Perfect story with get characters and fantastic plot line.

This is my second time reading this book this year. I got this book in July as an Arc and I read it and I loved it and then I started watching Just Between Us and I’ve been spending the last couple of months watching all of their videos *i’m almost done watching them. This book was on my Top Five Youtuber Books and if you go back and read that then you’ll see that I gave it an -A but now I gave it an +A because it took a whole second read to realize that this might just be my favorite book of 2017. Thing is I really need this book this year because it deals with a lot of things that I’ve been struggling with and this book just deals with all of it so well with taking away from the humor and not romanticizing anything which is a hard book to find now a days. One day I was feeling sick and my head was filled with a lot of thoughts because I was super stressed and I was trying to calm down so that I wouldn’t cry and have like a panic attack. I was watching some JBU videos and they were talking about the book so I just picked up my copy and started re reading the book and I just loved it soo much!! Guys go read this book and go watch their  channel. I feel like I should review this book. Maybe I will who knows but I like I have all posts planed out until December so it won’t be out for a while.

Flame in the Mist by Renee Ahdieh

23308087.jpg

+C: A work in progress. Okay writing, not so great characters and story line but pulled through and was readable.

I might re read this book because I feel like I didn’t appreciate the normal amount. I like Renee’s other books the Wrath and the Dawn and I’m currently reading The Rose and The Dagger so I went into this book thinking it was going to be The Wrath and The Dawn which it is not. There is definitely a difference between this and her other books. This book is okay like I said I need to re read it. I don’t really have a lot to say about it right now…. I’m sorry.

Turtles All the Way Down by John Green

turtles-all-the-way-down-hd-cover-john-green

+ A: Perfect story with get characters and fantastic plot line.

I’m doing a full review for this book because I loved this book! The review won’t be out for awhile because like I said earlier I have the month of November and December planned out so it probably won’t be out for a while. I have posts out for November so that’s all filled out and then I have more reviews in December and then after that I have my favorites post things are so stressful right now. So safe to say I loved this book because damn was this relatable as hell! I got so sad at so many parts and it was just so good. I would recommend going to into this book not knowing anything because that’s what I did and I’m glad that I did that because I avoided me probably overhyping the book for me. I also got this the same week it came out so I also avoid all the reviews that also would have taken part in me overhyping this book. When I finished this book, I wasn’t sure about who I felt about it and then like five minutes later I was like ‘Whoa that book was amazing’. This might be my favorite John Green Book I’m not sure yet but I  really loved it.

Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo

23437156

-C: Was expecting more than I got. Characters didn’t get any development until halfway.

I’m sorry!! I really want to like this book. Everyone likes it but I can’t get into it. It’s just so boring and I’m not at all entertained. I tried to read Crooked Kingdom too and the same thing happened. I just can’t with this. I’m sorry.

The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue

32319702

+ A: Perfect story with get characters and fantastic plot line.

This. Book. Was. Insane. Like I thought it was going to be an LGBT+ contemporary that took place in the different time but then suddenly there are pirates and kidnappings and they are running away. It wasn’t what I expected but it was amazing and I’m really glad that I didn’t expect any of it because that’s why this book was so amazing. I love Monty and I love Percy their relationship was just so great but here’s the thing for a lot of this book I was just like ‘Will you two just get your acts together and kiss already?’ I would recommend this book to people who love LGBT books.

Dumplin’ by Julie Murphy

9780062327185.jpg

+ A: Perfect story with get characters and fantastic plot line

So I started this book like last month. I got the audiobook and I was listening to it and it give me so much anxiety that I couldn’t finish the book. I stopped at 100 pages and then decided that I had to go and read the actual book to see if it would stress me out less. Nope! This book isn’t supposed to stress you out, it’s suppose to be a nice book with a good message with some hard hitting moments. I was just so scared about everything and I just wanted Willowdean to be happy and I didn’t want anything to bad to help to her. This book though was really great though and I’m so excited for the film that is coming out soon and it’s going to be amazing. I love the message this book has and it’s just so great! I cried at some points which I’m not going to talk about because spoilers but this book is amazing and if you haven’t read then you are missing out. Also there making a movie and I hope it’s amazing.

Wires and Nerve by Marissa Meyer

wires-and-nerve-cover.jpg

-A: Good story with characters that got better and a slow plot line

It’s the return to the Lunar Chronicles Universe. This is a graphic novel which I was excited to read because I love the Lunar Chronicles. I did enjoy this book but there was just something about it that just kept me from totally loving it. It’s super cute though in some scenes with Wolf and Scarlet and Cress and Thorne and I enjoyed seeing things again. I wasn’t super happy that things weren’t working out in some ways which I guess is a different take but still I just want everyone to be happy.

Remember when I said I wanted to read something scary this month? Well I failed. Sorry not sorry it’s been a hard month for me. We’re sealing my house and then I had regions and school stuff. Also I didn’t read any F’s so hooray!!! But I still I only read a couple books that I truly loved this month that I didn’t re read. Look at for writing post coming next week and then my GamePlay for Life is Strange Episode two. I hope you enjoyed this review *many reviews and make sure to look out for more coming your way. The Handmaid’s Tale TV Show Review| Epic Adaptations

Greetings Earthlings! Today I’m talking about the tv show, The Handmaid’s Tale, based off the book by Margaret Atwood which is my October book of the month!

WARNING SPOILERS

MV5BMjAzNTEwOTA3NV5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTgwODYyOTUxMjI@._V1_SY1000_CR0,0,666,1000_AL_

If you don’t know I have a book club called Epic Adaptations where every month I pick a book that has been adapted into a book or movie and then I’ll review both and then I compare it. For October I picked The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood which was adapted into a show by Hulu. You may have heard of it because it would so many emmys and I’m glad it did because it was amazing, I have a whole review for the book so check that out right here.

This show was amazing. The acting was amazing, the filming was amazing, the aesthetic of the whole shows was wonderful, and the feel of the book is in the show which I loved! They did such a great job just capturing everything and putting it together. I have to give out a warning if you want to watch this show there are some graphic scenes so I won’t let like a youngen watch this show because some scenes are hard to watch. If you old enough though and have Hulu I would 100% recommend this show and the book too because it was so amazing! I love watching this show that sounds wrong because this show deals with a lot of hard stuffs but it’s just so amazing and great.

The girl who played Offred is great and she won an Emmy so that should show. All the other actors are great because they make you either love or hate their characters which is great when you hate them because you known you are suppose to hate them. The show is amazing and it’s very close to the book but then in some ways they changed a lot to add on to the story because they were things that either weren’t answered in the book or they were in the book but they were put in a different order. Like her real name being June, that’s not a thing that was talked about in the book. You never learn her real name but one scene the name June is mentioned and fans of the book labeled her as June and they wrote it into the show. Scenes are out go of order like the Doctor’s appointment was earlier in the book but that was in like episode four.

I’m not complaining about that though because I enjoyed that they did it that way. It’s different from other book to movie adaptations because they change things to the story for some reason and it doesn’t add anything to the story but when they change the story in this it stills adds onto the story. Another thing that I think was good was the fact they give more information on some of the characters like her husband, Moira, and Ofglen. Alexis was fucking fantastic as Ofglen that scene with her watching the girl getting hanged was so sad. All the actors and actress were so good!!! Just watch this show it’s great! And we are getting a season two which I’m excited about because the book just ends and the season one ends the same way so we are getting more and hopefully it will be good.

Accuracy: 75%

Like I said it’s basically the same story but they did change a couple of things. It’s not something I would complain about though because it’s still a fantastic show. The show and the book are both wonderful stories that play out so well. I can not stresses this enough guys just please watch this show. It’s so great!

Rating: +A for being amazing and scary just like the book

I enjoyed this show and I would recommend that everyone who likes the book to go and watch it because you will enjoy it. Have you guys watched this show? What did you think of it? Bookclub: Epic Adaptations

This book scared the sh*t out of me! | The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood review

Greetings Earthling! Today I’m reviewing The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood which Epic Adaptations October book of the month!

handmaid's tale

-A: Good story with characters that got better and a slow plot line

“Better never means better for everyone… It always means worse, for some.”

This book was going to be my September book of the month but then I like this book scared me and I figured that it would make an even better pick of October. I’m not joking when I say that this book scared me. Being a woman in this day in age and reading a book about how woman have lost power was really scary for me. This book is so well written and told that you get scared reading it. If you didn’t know this book is about a dystopian where a religious group takes over the United States and it becomes Gilead. Woman have lost all power and a lot of them aren’t fertile but the ones who are become Handmaids who are sent to the houses of others and they have to get pregnant for that couple.

This book we follow Offred who is a handmaid and we follow go through all this stuff. Like being the Handmaid for the Commander and his wife Serena Joy. I’m currently watching the show which is great and a wonderful adaptation of this book but there will be a whole review coming soon. We watch her go through all these things and it’s soo good!!! When I finished this book I had to like take a second and think about everything. If I’m being honest reading this during the period we are at right now probably wasn’t the best because now I’m super scared for the future of the country. Every time I read a dystopian novel I like to rank the society by how terrible it is like the Selection is not that bad, Divergent is okay I’m mean I’m not that scared of it, Hunger Games is just terrible like that’s the worse. But this one takes the top of the list because damn.

This book is amazing. It’s so well and beautifully told. If you like Dystopians then read this book! It doesn’t matter in reality if you enjoy books at all then read this book because it is so amazing! The show also just won a lot of emmys so that’s also a good reason to watch the show and read the books. That’s it for my review of the book! My review for the show is next week so look out for that. I really want to go back to writing only once a week because so how I ended up posting twice a week which I’m not really into.

It’s a lot of pressure and a lot of work and I’m currently going through a lot right now so I need to go back to posting once a week. Sorry not Sorry. This review wasn’t my best I’m just under a lot pressure and I’ve been really pretty sick lately so this was rushed. I hope you enjoyed this post and make sure to look out for more coming your way soon. You should follow my book club here and other social media links. Marvel Avengers Book Tag!

Greetings Earthlings! Today I’m doing the Marvel Avengers Book Tag!

Avengers-panel1a-137434.jpg

I didn’t create this tag and I don’t know who did but I love Marvel and Superheroes and books so I wanted to do this.

Iron Man

2cbb04e7ef9266e1e57a9b0e75bc555f.jpg

Your Favorite First Book

I love Iron Man but I watched the movies in the wrong order. My parents showed the first movie to my sisters and then they showed all three of us the second one and then we all went in saw the third one and I’d saw all the other Avengers movies. I finally watched it pretty recently and I did like it. First books in series aren’t always going to be the first because they are opening up the universe and the new world we are about to explore so they take time but their are some good ones. I’m going to pick Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare.

546b72c81f28be9e4a4565b890ccc4b2

This book is just great!! I loved this book so much more than City of Bones and Clockwork Angel. I have a review on how I feel about it here. Lord of Shadow is about to come out as I’m writing and it’s probably already out when this post comes into the world! I’m so excited!! Another good first book is Alice in Zombieland. Damn that was the best one in the series.

Captain America

tumblr_n0oxpj88rS1raoayro1_1280.jpg

A Book that takes place in a different time

Captain America is my favorite. I love him so much! Chris Evans is just so gorgeous and I love him as the role of Steve Rogers. I don’t read a lot of books that take place in a different time period. I don’t know why, I don’t know why I just don’t find a lot of them or know of any of them so it’s not something that I read a lot of right next to science fiction. I have read Outlander, the Infernal Devices, and technically Harry Potter takes place in a different time. I think I’m going to pick Fever 1793 by Laurie Halse Anderson.

51zqk1y72TL

This book if you couldn’t guess is about the yellow fever and it follows a girl named Mattie and her life during the time of this and how she deals with it. It’s a really great book and I love it and I love Laurie Halse Anderson, her books are like damn! I would recommend this book to everyone because it’s so good.

Thor

avengers_2_affiche_08-640x933.jpg

A book character that you like more after they were casted

I love Thor and I love Chris Hemsworth. I didn’t really want to see this movie at first but then my family was like it’s so good and I’ve come to adore Thor and all the characters and Loki and these movies! Whose excited about Thor: Ragnarok? I AM!!! It took me awhile for me to decide what to pick for this question but I finally realized that my answer is Tom Felton as Draco Malfoy.

malfoy.jpg

Draco Malfoy is terrible character well the choices he makes are terrible. He is a good boy that was forced into a life that he didn’t want. Now if I had read the books first then he would have just thought he was a spoiled brat but watching Tom Felton bring this character to the screen helped me understand what he was going through this and he made me love him more.

Hawkeye

hawkeye.jpg

A book that you love but isn’t really a popular read for others

I love Hawkeye. I was so scared that he was going to die in Age of Ultron because they introduce as to his family and when his wife was like be safe and I was shit he is going to die but he didn’t! I’m going to pick to Sherlock inspire stories that I love and I couldn’t decide which one I should do so I’m going Lock & Mori by Heather W. Petty and the Clockwork Scarab by Colleen Gleason!

They are so amazing and so wonderful and I love them so much. I have review for both Lock and Mori books here and here and I have reviews for Stoker and Holmes here and here. If you haven’t read these books yet then go read them because they are so amazing and wonderful and I need the final books right now because I need to know what happens!!

Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch

A Book with a Sibling Duo

Okay so is Quicksilver coming back for Infinity Wars because I kept seeing stuff saying that he still is alive and is returning? Can someone just clear this up for me? Thanks. I don’t know who else there is to pick besides Fred and George from Harry Potter.

fred and george.jpg

I love them so much and they are just so amazing and the death in Deathly Hallows breaks my heart and AHHHHHHHHH!

Loki

Loki_textless.jpg

A villain that you love and you can’t help but be attracted to

I love Loki. I love him so much. I’m so excited Thor 3 because I know what the title means and the trailers look great. I’m having a hard time picking this one because I can’t be a attracted to a lot of villains because they do such horrible things. I’m gonna go with Hideo from Warcross by Marie Lu.

warcross

I don’t know if he counts as villain but his motivation at the end of Warcross can be called villainy. I don’t know. I don’t feel attracted to any book villains right now. Because like I said before so many villains do terrible things and I stop loving them after that. Like Tate from American Horror Story, everyone loves him but he’s done such terrible things that I don’t like him.

Antman

Ant-Man_Poster_Cropped.png

A Book I’ve been meaning to read

Like every book in the world I feel like. I do have answer for this and it’s pretty shameful and the books I’ve been meaning to read are Six of Crows and Shadows and Bone! I’m sorry! I’ve been meaning to read them and every time I get them I just start reading them and then I give up on them. I plan on reading them soon but I’ve been saying that for awhile now.

The Hulk

avengers___age_of_ultron___hulk_poster_by_zedkate-d7c79b4.jpg

A Book you can’t talk about without getting angry

*COUGHS LOUDLY

983940_orig

DISHONORABLE MENTION: 13 REASONS WHY! I hate these books so much and I get so mad every time I talk about them. Same for 13 Reasons Why.

Black Widow

black widow.jpg

A Side Character that You wished had their own Book

I mean I wish I got a whole series about Harry Potter’s parent when they were at Hogwarts but everyone wants that so. How about Dorian? Because Chaol got a whole book about him so why I get he get one? I love Dorian he’s my favorite! I guess so many people wouldn’t like that because I feel like everyone loves Chaol and I don’t really like him that much.

And that was the Avengers book tag! I tag you guys to do this if you want to! More reviews and other fun things are coming out soon so look out for that! Books I Read This Month! | September

Greetings Earthlings! Today I’m talking about the books I read in the month of September of 2017! I made a post for the month of August which you can read here and please do because I had fun doing this. If you are wondering what this is, it’s basically a wrap up that I didn’t want to call a wrap up. I read 12 books this month which was one more than I read last month! I only read one F this month so there’s not as much ranting, ENJOY!

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince by J.K. Rowling

cover-hp-6.jpg

-A: Good story with characters that got better and a slow plot line

I’m currently re reading the Harry Potter books because it’s something I do like once a year and I started off September by finishing the Half Blood Prince for like the fourth time and I loved it. I love this book and I love Harry and Ginny and I hate that the thing happens at the end. You know what thing I’m talking about. Every time I read this book, I always get upset that the movie changes some many things. I mean I love the movie but you took some great moments out. Come now! I don’t really have a lot to say about this as it’s like my fourth time, reading it so yeah.

The Copper Gauntlet by Cassandra Clare and Holly Black

The_Copper_Gauntlet_cover,_UK

+B: Had a weird pace and took me a while to like the characters.

I read book one like a couple months ago and I really enjoyed the first book and I also really enjoyed this one. It’s very crazy though and I meant have to re read it though because I had to re read the first book. It’s a good book and I love all the characters like I love Aaron and Callum and Tamara and I love that he has a giant chaos wolf as a pet and it’s so great! If you like Harry Potter and you like Cassandra Clare then you will enjoy this book because it’s great. I ship Aaron and Callum which is something that has been happening a lot lately. I’ll read Cassandra Clare books and they’ll have two males in the story that have this great friendship and I’m just shipping them and reading into everything! I read Shadowhunter Academy and there’s that story with James Herondale and Matthew Fairchild and the whole time I was just like ‘get together! get together!’. They didn’t get together, they became parabatai and a part of me was like ‘Maybe their the parabatai that messed everything up’ but no I know that’s not true.

A Study in Charlotte by Brittany Cavallaro

a study in charlotte.jpg

D: Nothing seem to happen. The characters had a bad attitude or were boring until the end. Story didn’t know what it wanted.

Can you say disappointed? I was really disappointed with this book. I was takes on Sherlock and I was excited to read this book and I was really letdown by it. This book follows Charlotte Holmes and Jamie Watson and their great parents were Sherlock Holmes and John Watson and they don’t really find like each other but when a murder happens at their school they come to together to find out who did it. I liked the beginning of the book where it sets somethings up but after that I didn’t like it anymore as I didn’t like any of the characters. Jamie and Charlotte were so annoying and so was every other character that appeared. I was also kind of confused about the ending and I don’t even know if we find out who killed the guy like what? This book also has a lot of tropes about teenagers in it like most of time the guys were just objectifying the girls and the kids were all drinking and partying. I’m just so upset that I didn’t like this book! I so wanted to like it. I read the whole thing and I still didn’t like it. If you like this book than I’m glad that you found some enjoyment in it but as for me I didn’t and I wished I hadn’t wasted my time with it and I don’t like I’m going to continue on with this series. Sorry not sorry!

Big Little Lies by Liane Moriaty

big littles lies.jpg

+ A: Perfect story with get characters and fantastic plot line.

THIS. BOOK. OH. MY. GOD! If you read my last Books I read this Month then you know  I was upset that I got Once and For All by Sarah Dessen and not this book and I didn’t go out and buy it. It finally became available at the library! I only wanted to read this book because I would sit in the room with my mom and I wanted to know who died and she wouldn’t tell me. My mom loves Liane Moriarty’s books and she has been telling me to read some of her books for a while now and I’ve finally read it and it was so amazing! I love how you saw the mystery just unfold in front of you and every detail affected what was happening. I was not accepting half of the stuff that happened at the party to happen  like I started screaming and my mom was just like ‘Yeah can you believe that?’ NO I CAN’T MOM! I wasn’t excepting that to happen. I had a thought in my mind that it would that person to die and I was still surprised when it happened and I can’t believe that person did that another thing! I was even more surprised with who killed that person I thought it was going to be someone else but I was wrong and I was so surprised! I’m currently watching this show with my mom. I’m debating if I should make it my November book for Epic Adaptations. If you don’t know Epic Adaptations is a book club that I do where I pick a book and I review it along with the book’s adaptations and then I compare them. Tell me if you think I should make it my book of the month for November because I have October (Handmaid’s Tale) and I think I’m narrowing in on my December book of the month.

The Dreadful Tale of Prosper Redding by Alexandra Bracken

prosper redding.jpg

+B: Had a weird pace and took me a while to like the characters.

This was a book I got at ALA in June or July wow it’s sad that I don’t remember that. I’ve been wanting to read it for awhile but for some I didn’t read it until this month. I read it because it was the Booksplosion book of the month and I never read the book of the month for them because I never have it but last and this month I was lucky enough to have both arcs of those books. I didn’t not like Little Monsters but luckily they picked an Alexandra Bracken book which I was so excited about. If you don’t know Alexandra Bracken has written the Darkest Minds trilogy which I’ve only read the first two books I’m planning on getting to book three soon and she has also written the Passengers duology which I haven’t read yet DON’T JUDGE ME!!!! This book follows a boy named Prosper Redding who discovers that great something grandfather made a deal with a demon and then he broke it and now the demon Alastor is living inside him. I had a lot of  fun with this book and I’m super interested to see where this story is going. Sometimes the characters got on my nerves but it never really lasted long and I went back to loving them and this book was a lot of fun. If you enjoy all of Alexandra Bracken’s books than I recommend this book because you’ll have a good time.

The Bronze Key by Cassandra Clare and Holly Black

bronze key.jpg

+B: Had a weird pace and took me a while to like the characters.

This book….. um.. something happened in this book and I don’t like that it happened. Why did Holly and Cassie do this? WHY? He was my favorite and I loved him but now AHAHAHAHAH!!! If you haven’t guessed it yet my favorite died. They killed him. I’m not saying who because spoilers and I’m pulling for him to come back to life because I love him and I want him back. This book was also very good and I really enjoyed this book. I wasn’t not excepting that to happen. I’m really upset. The characters were still great and entraining and it had some great moments besides that other one. I’m going to read book four but if my favorite does not come back then I will be super upset and just cry and cry and cry. Luckily I like all the other characters so I’m still going to read and finish series when the two books come out because I do enjoy this books and there are super fun. This  really seems like I don’t like the book I liked this book! I’m excited for book four because you know other things happened in this book and I do have to know what the hell happens next.

Fairest by Marissa Meyer

fairest.jpg

+ A: Perfect story with get characters and fantastic plot line.

I really regret the fact that I didn’t read this book until now! Why did I not pick this up when I was waiting for Winter? Why? Past Grace! What’s up with that girl being a weird when it comes to doing things? Fun fact about me I’m homeschool and I like listening to things while I work and I’ve been trying to get into audiobooks so I’ve been listening to them while I’ll do some work. Listening to audio books though for some reason makes things more intense for me so maybe if I read the book it wouldn’t be as intense. Like I was listening to the audiobook of Dumplin’ which for some reason got really intense like I had trouble going forwards at some points because I couldn’t take it and Dumplin’ is contemporary novel! Anyway I regret just waiting around for Winter and not reading this because this was amazing. In case your new here I love books about the origins of villains and this was so great! It reminded me of Lock & Mori and how you watch them slowly become the villains they are known for. Watching Levana slip into darkness and become a power crazy bitch was just so great! I really want to re read the Lunar Chronicles now because I miss this universe! It’s just so great! Marissa Meyer books are so good!

Tower of Dawn by Sarah J. Maas

tower of dawn

-A: Good story with characters that got better and a slow plot line

I’m doing a review of this book which is coming in like a month so like out for that. I have no clue what’s in it as I’ve only written like a paragraph right now so yeah really interesting. I went into this book with low expectations because if you been here for awhile then you know I hate Chaol. He just gets on my nerves and he was so whiny and mean and I have like six reviews for each book and for each review that I have for this series I talk about how much I don’t like him. Luckily my mom read this before me and she said it was really good and that’s always comforting when it comes to books. Sometimes.  I really enjoyed this book, it’s not my favorite. Like Empire of Storms is currently holding that title but this one was really good. If you don’t know in Empire of Storms, Chaol wasn’t in it and this book is what was happening to Chaol during those events of book five. This was going to be a Novella but instead it turned into book six which is nice because I got one more book before the final which I’m not ready for. This book was pretty good and if you are worry about this book because a lot of people are than don’t worry I really think you’ll enjoy this book. I’m excited but I’m so scared to continue on! *thumbs up with a worried smile

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling

deathly-hallows

+ A: Perfect story with get characters and fantastic plot line.

I love this book so much! I didn’t cry this time when reading it because it seems with every time that I read or watch Deathly Hallows I cry but this time I didn’t. I just got really sad because I love this series so much! Deathly Hallows is just such an amazing book and it’s like one of my favorites. It’s so good! I don’t know if you guys know this but I love Harry Potter.

Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo

shadow and bone.jpg

-A: Good story with characters that got better and a slow plot line

I finally read this book and I’m so happy! I feel like I’m in on everything now because if you didn’t know this series an the spin off series Six of Crows which I plan on starting soon are very popular and like everyone has read them. I have read this book before but it was the middle of exam week so I couldn’t come completely get into which made me sad but now that I’ve read it I feel so good and I can’t wait to start book two! I’m really excited to get more into the Grishaverse because this book was good! I might do a whole review for this book or I just might do a review of the whole series depends on how I’m feeling. It’s probably going to a series review. I really enjoy this book and the characters and the Darkling! I love him! He is just so great! I didn’t really like Mal he was kind of like the Jacob of this story. He was just there the whole time and got upset about the things she did and I was like please just shut okay! I’m planning on starting book two soon that should be in next month’s list.

The Thousandth Floor by Katherine McGee

41pq4mRU8wL._SX329_BO1,204,203,200_.jpg

F: Wasn’t a good read and a was a waste of time. Characters were dulled and annoying and so was the plot line.

I think my goodreads review should say how I felt about this book, What’s this new trend of having sibling characters get together? I’m not liking it. Um… this was one of those books where the characters just party, drink, and do drugs and someone dies and two characters who are siblings sort of have a thing. It’s literally a different version of Little Monsters with rich kids in a hotel! The only thing that I kinda of liked was that a different girl who died like I thought it was going to be someone else but it wasn’t.

The Wrath & the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh

the wrath and the dawn.jpg

+B: Had a weird pace and took me a while to like the characters.

The Wrath & the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh is a book that I had heard things about but I never got started on. I only picked this book up because I watched a video with Renee in it and she was so funny and when she talked about her books they sounded so interesting. Then I watched Natasha’s videos and she said that she loved the Wrath & the Dawn books and I was like I have to give her book a try. So I did and I really enjoyed it this book. I liked the characters. The main character wasn’t as badass as I thought she was going to be but I liked the route they took with her because unlike most characters were they set out for revenge they have no fear and are dead set on what they have to do but this girl as fear and they let you know that she has fear and she wants to survive which is a route that I loved that Renee took for this character. The male character if I’m being honest I wasn’t sure if I was going to like because before I started this book I was told that he was a giant dick but he wasn’t. I really liked him and their relationship was so interesting to watch form and I was sad with how it ended. I have book two ready for me to read so hopefully I get that done next month.

And that’s it for September! I’m ready for October like October is going to be great. I’m being Wynona Rider’s character from Stranger Things who are you guys going to be? My goal for October is to read more scary books. But that’s my goal very year and I always fail because I can get scared pretty easily but I’m at least just going to try and read one Stephen King novel. I do want to re read the Alice and Zombieland trilogy….. yes I said trilogy….. I’m pretending like book four isn’t real (all you need to know was that I was lied too). This wasn’t as long as the last one. Maybe because I didn’t read two F’s and I didn’t have a lot to rant about. I hope you enjoyed this review *many reviews and make sure to look out for more coming your way.
