YOU HAVE TO WATCH THE BOLD TYPE!

Greetings Earthlings! Today I’m talking about one of my new favorite shows The Bold Type!

the bold type.jpg

+ A: Perfect story with get characters and fantastic plot line.

I feel like I should start with the fact that I did not want to watch this show. When I was at ALA and my sister and I were taking a break at the hotel watching Harry Potter weekend *i cried again watching deathly hallows don’t judge me which is always on the channel Freeform and they kept playing commercials for the Bold Type. My sister and I were just like oh it could be a good show but it’s on Freeform so it won’t be good because Freeform shows are really dramatic and cheesy. Like I’ve watched to shows ever on Freeform which was Jane by Design *that was when it was abc family and Shadowhunters. I liked Jane by Design but it got canceled and Shadowhunters is just so bad like I can’t watch it.

But then suddenly it’s trending on Tumblr and then I’m in Cincinnati and my sister just texts and says she’s watching the Bold Type and she’s loving it. Then Christine uploads her Top 10 shows of 2017 and the Bold Type is on it. I did stay up one night with my sister and even though I was doing more work than watching it looked so cute. I decided to watch it and I loved it. OMG guys it’s such a good show. I mean it’s only been done for a couple of days now and I miss it so much! I loved this show so much! I can’t believe it’s on Freeform because it’s soooooo good! I love all the girls so much and I love Alex and I love Jacqueline! It’s just so great!

If you didn’t know this show follows best friends Jane, Sutton, and Kat. They all work at a magazine called Scarlet and the show follows them working there. Jane is a newly promoted writer, Sutton is an assistant but wants something more, and Kat who is head of Social Media. The show deals with a lot of real issues and has a lot storylines that follow real things and it’s so good! All the episodes are on Hulu so if you want to watch them then go do it right now! I have to go and do my non spoilery section because I really want to get deeper into the show and why it’s so good and everything that has happened in it. if you haven’t watched the Bold Type then go watch it then come right back and read the rest of this review and just watch it because the show is so good!

WARNING SPOILERS

IF YOU DON’T WANT TO GET SPOILED LEAVE

I’M NOT KIDDING

Okay so let’s just start with that finale because wow that was such an amazing episode and I enjoyed so much and I wanted to cry. So I’m very happy with how that finale went because we don’t know the show is being picked up for a second season and instead of ending on a cliffhanger like most shows *COUGH CLASS AND STILL STAR CROSSED COUGH. It ends solving a lot of different things that have been left opened but there are still something hanging around so that we can still get a season two which I loved that they did that. I want a season two because I love this show and I love the characters.

The season finale was so good and normally shows can’t do storylines with sexual abuse but this show did. The episode has Jane trying to do a piece on a girl who holds these weights in the park and when other girls have gone through the same thing they go and hold the weights too. She wants to do this as her finale piece at Scarlet because she’s going to work somewhere else. I didn’t like that Jane was already leaving Scarlet when she just got this writing job. Like come on girl! It was just such a good final episode of the season. I kind of figure that Jacqueline had been raped like half way and then the scene where she takes the weights and she’s standing looking so strong. I loved this so much. IT was so good!!

Also were we hinting at Sutton and Richard getting back together? I’m not complaining, I just wanted her and Alex to get together because they were so cute. Alex is such a great guy and I love him. I love how he understood why Sutton didn’t what to date because she hadn’t moved on from Richard. In most movies and shows, the guys just act like complete jerks and are rude and jerks but he was so nice about the whole thing even though he clearly likes her. That scene though where she had to go to a meeting after she and Alex had been found kissing and Richard was there and you could see that he was upset over the fact that she was with someone else and I thought it was really sad.

Kat and Adena I love them so much! They are so cute and people and I love them. I love the airport scene where she’s goes to the airport because Adena isn’t allowed into the country and they go on their first date and it was so beautiful and I loved it so much. And that scene where they are both shirtless and we got some side boob going on there. Gosh I made that so weird, what I mean is that you don’t normally see on a cable show with a lesbian couple. They are so cute and I love them. I also love Jane because I can relate to Jane like in some ways. Like quick to judge and loves writing. I enjoyed her character so much. I loved all these characters so much. They’re my favorites and I miss them so much!

I honestly really just want a season because I just want to see more them. I love this show and I love the storyline. It’s the perfect mix of real life issues, humor, and drama and it’s brilliant. I love it so much! I recommend this show to everyone because it is so amazing! Have you guys watched this show? What did you think of it? Did you like or did you hate it? Books I Read This Month! | September

Greetings Earthlings! Today I’m talking about the books I read in the month of September of 2017! I made a post for the month of August which you can read here and please do because I had fun doing this. If you are wondering what this is, it’s basically a wrap up that I didn’t want to call a wrap up. I read 12 books this month which was one more than I read last month! I only read one F this month so there’s not as much ranting, ENJOY!

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince by J.K. Rowling

cover-hp-6.jpg

-A: Good story with characters that got better and a slow plot line

I’m currently re reading the Harry Potter books because it’s something I do like once a year and I started off September by finishing the Half Blood Prince for like the fourth time and I loved it. I love this book and I love Harry and Ginny and I hate that the thing happens at the end. You know what thing I’m talking about. Every time I read this book, I always get upset that the movie changes some many things. I mean I love the movie but you took some great moments out. Come now! I don’t really have a lot to say about this as it’s like my fourth time, reading it so yeah.

The Copper Gauntlet by Cassandra Clare and Holly Black

The_Copper_Gauntlet_cover,_UK

+B: Had a weird pace and took me a while to like the characters.

I read book one like a couple months ago and I really enjoyed the first book and I also really enjoyed this one. It’s very crazy though and I meant have to re read it though because I had to re read the first book. It’s a good book and I love all the characters like I love Aaron and Callum and Tamara and I love that he has a giant chaos wolf as a pet and it’s so great! If you like Harry Potter and you like Cassandra Clare then you will enjoy this book because it’s great. I ship Aaron and Callum which is something that has been happening a lot lately. I’ll read Cassandra Clare books and they’ll have two males in the story that have this great friendship and I’m just shipping them and reading into everything! I read Shadowhunter Academy and there’s that story with James Herondale and Matthew Fairchild and the whole time I was just like ‘get together! get together!’. They didn’t get together, they became parabatai and a part of me was like ‘Maybe their the parabatai that messed everything up’ but no I know that’s not true.

A Study in Charlotte by Brittany Cavallaro

a study in charlotte.jpg

D: Nothing seem to happen. The characters had a bad attitude or were boring until the end. Story didn’t know what it wanted.

Can you say disappointed? I was really disappointed with this book. I was takes on Sherlock and I was excited to read this book and I was really letdown by it. This book follows Charlotte Holmes and Jamie Watson and their great parents were Sherlock Holmes and John Watson and they don’t really find like each other but when a murder happens at their school they come to together to find out who did it. I liked the beginning of the book where it sets somethings up but after that I didn’t like it anymore as I didn’t like any of the characters. Jamie and Charlotte were so annoying and so was every other character that appeared. I was also kind of confused about the ending and I don’t even know if we find out who killed the guy like what? This book also has a lot of tropes about teenagers in it like most of time the guys were just objectifying the girls and the kids were all drinking and partying. I’m just so upset that I didn’t like this book! I so wanted to like it. I read the whole thing and I still didn’t like it. If you like this book than I’m glad that you found some enjoyment in it but as for me I didn’t and I wished I hadn’t wasted my time with it and I don’t like I’m going to continue on with this series. Sorry not sorry!

Big Little Lies by Liane Moriaty

big littles lies.jpg

+ A: Perfect story with get characters and fantastic plot line.

THIS. BOOK. OH. MY. GOD! If you read my last Books I read this Month then you know  I was upset that I got Once and For All by Sarah Dessen and not this book and I didn’t go out and buy it. It finally became available at the library! I only wanted to read this book because I would sit in the room with my mom and I wanted to know who died and she wouldn’t tell me. My mom loves Liane Moriarty’s books and she has been telling me to read some of her books for a while now and I’ve finally read it and it was so amazing! I love how you saw the mystery just unfold in front of you and every detail affected what was happening. I was not accepting half of the stuff that happened at the party to happen  like I started screaming and my mom was just like ‘Yeah can you believe that?’ NO I CAN’T MOM! I wasn’t excepting that to happen. I had a thought in my mind that it would that person to die and I was still surprised when it happened and I can’t believe that person did that another thing! I was even more surprised with who killed that person I thought it was going to be someone else but I was wrong and I was so surprised! I’m currently watching this show with my mom. I’m debating if I should make it my November book for Epic Adaptations. If you don’t know Epic Adaptations is a book club that I do where I pick a book and I review it along with the book’s adaptations and then I compare them. Tell me if you think I should make it my book of the month for November because I have October (Handmaid’s Tale) and I think I’m narrowing in on my December book of the month.

The Dreadful Tale of Prosper Redding by Alexandra Bracken

prosper redding.jpg

+B: Had a weird pace and took me a while to like the characters.

This was a book I got at ALA in June or July wow it’s sad that I don’t remember that. I’ve been wanting to read it for awhile but for some I didn’t read it until this month. I read it because it was the Booksplosion book of the month and I never read the book of the month for them because I never have it but last and this month I was lucky enough to have both arcs of those books. I didn’t not like Little Monsters but luckily they picked an Alexandra Bracken book which I was so excited about. If you don’t know Alexandra Bracken has written the Darkest Minds trilogy which I’ve only read the first two books I’m planning on getting to book three soon and she has also written the Passengers duology which I haven’t read yet DON’T JUDGE ME!!!! This book follows a boy named Prosper Redding who discovers that great something grandfather made a deal with a demon and then he broke it and now the demon Alastor is living inside him. I had a lot of  fun with this book and I’m super interested to see where this story is going. Sometimes the characters got on my nerves but it never really lasted long and I went back to loving them and this book was a lot of fun. If you enjoy all of Alexandra Bracken’s books than I recommend this book because you’ll have a good time.

The Bronze Key by Cassandra Clare and Holly Black

bronze key.jpg

+B: Had a weird pace and took me a while to like the characters.

This book….. um.. something happened in this book and I don’t like that it happened. Why did Holly and Cassie do this? WHY? He was my favorite and I loved him but now AHAHAHAHAH!!! If you haven’t guessed it yet my favorite died. They killed him. I’m not saying who because spoilers and I’m pulling for him to come back to life because I love him and I want him back. This book was also very good and I really enjoyed this book. I wasn’t not excepting that to happen. I’m really upset. The characters were still great and entraining and it had some great moments besides that other one. I’m going to read book four but if my favorite does not come back then I will be super upset and just cry and cry and cry. Luckily I like all the other characters so I’m still going to read and finish series when the two books come out because I do enjoy this books and there are super fun. This  really seems like I don’t like the book I liked this book! I’m excited for book four because you know other things happened in this book and I do have to know what the hell happens next.

Fairest by Marissa Meyer

fairest.jpg

+ A: Perfect story with get characters and fantastic plot line.

I really regret the fact that I didn’t read this book until now! Why did I not pick this up when I was waiting for Winter? Why? Past Grace! What’s up with that girl being a weird when it comes to doing things? Fun fact about me I’m homeschool and I like listening to things while I work and I’ve been trying to get into audiobooks so I’ve been listening to them while I’ll do some work. Listening to audio books though for some reason makes things more intense for me so maybe if I read the book it wouldn’t be as intense. Like I was listening to the audiobook of Dumplin’ which for some reason got really intense like I had trouble going forwards at some points because I couldn’t take it and Dumplin’ is contemporary novel! Anyway I regret just waiting around for Winter and not reading this because this was amazing. In case your new here I love books about the origins of villains and this was so great! It reminded me of Lock & Mori and how you watch them slowly become the villains they are known for. Watching Levana slip into darkness and become a power crazy bitch was just so great! I really want to re read the Lunar Chronicles now because I miss this universe! It’s just so great! Marissa Meyer books are so good!

Tower of Dawn by Sarah J. Maas

tower of dawn

-A: Good story with characters that got better and a slow plot line

I’m doing a review of this book which is coming in like a month so like out for that. I have no clue what’s in it as I’ve only written like a paragraph right now so yeah really interesting. I went into this book with low expectations because if you been here for awhile then you know I hate Chaol. He just gets on my nerves and he was so whiny and mean and I have like six reviews for each book and for each review that I have for this series I talk about how much I don’t like him. Luckily my mom read this before me and she said it was really good and that’s always comforting when it comes to books. Sometimes.  I really enjoyed this book, it’s not my favorite. Like Empire of Storms is currently holding that title but this one was really good. If you don’t know in Empire of Storms, Chaol wasn’t in it and this book is what was happening to Chaol during those events of book five. This was going to be a Novella but instead it turned into book six which is nice because I got one more book before the final which I’m not ready for. This book was pretty good and if you are worry about this book because a lot of people are than don’t worry I really think you’ll enjoy this book. I’m excited but I’m so scared to continue on! *thumbs up with a worried smile

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling

deathly-hallows

+ A: Perfect story with get characters and fantastic plot line.

I love this book so much! I didn’t cry this time when reading it because it seems with every time that I read or watch Deathly Hallows I cry but this time I didn’t. I just got really sad because I love this series so much! Deathly Hallows is just such an amazing book and it’s like one of my favorites. It’s so good! I don’t know if you guys know this but I love Harry Potter.

Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo

shadow and bone.jpg

-A: Good story with characters that got better and a slow plot line

I finally read this book and I’m so happy! I feel like I’m in on everything now because if you didn’t know this series an the spin off series Six of Crows which I plan on starting soon are very popular and like everyone has read them. I have read this book before but it was the middle of exam week so I couldn’t come completely get into which made me sad but now that I’ve read it I feel so good and I can’t wait to start book two! I’m really excited to get more into the Grishaverse because this book was good! I might do a whole review for this book or I just might do a review of the whole series depends on how I’m feeling. It’s probably going to a series review. I really enjoy this book and the characters and the Darkling! I love him! He is just so great! I didn’t really like Mal he was kind of like the Jacob of this story. He was just there the whole time and got upset about the things she did and I was like please just shut okay! I’m planning on starting book two soon that should be in next month’s list.

The Thousandth Floor by Katherine McGee

41pq4mRU8wL._SX329_BO1,204,203,200_.jpg

F: Wasn’t a good read and a was a waste of time. Characters were dulled and annoying and so was the plot line.

I think my goodreads review should say how I felt about this book, What’s this new trend of having sibling characters get together? I’m not liking it. Um… this was one of those books where the characters just party, drink, and do drugs and someone dies and two characters who are siblings sort of have a thing. It’s literally a different version of Little Monsters with rich kids in a hotel! The only thing that I kinda of liked was that a different girl who died like I thought it was going to be someone else but it wasn’t.

The Wrath & the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh

the wrath and the dawn.jpg

+B: Had a weird pace and took me a while to like the characters.

The Wrath & the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh is a book that I had heard things about but I never got started on. I only picked this book up because I watched a video with Renee in it and she was so funny and when she talked about her books they sounded so interesting. Then I watched Natasha’s videos and she said that she loved the Wrath & the Dawn books and I was like I have to give her book a try. So I did and I really enjoyed it this book. I liked the characters. The main character wasn’t as badass as I thought she was going to be but I liked the route they took with her because unlike most characters were they set out for revenge they have no fear and are dead set on what they have to do but this girl as fear and they let you know that she has fear and she wants to survive which is a route that I loved that Renee took for this character. The male character if I’m being honest I wasn’t sure if I was going to like because before I started this book I was told that he was a giant dick but he wasn’t. I really liked him and their relationship was so interesting to watch form and I was sad with how it ended. I have book two ready for me to read so hopefully I get that done next month.

And that’s it for September! I’m ready for October like October is going to be great. I’m being Wynona Rider’s character from Stranger Things who are you guys going to be? My goal for October is to read more scary books. But that’s my goal very year and I always fail because I can get scared pretty easily but I’m at least just going to try and read one Stephen King novel. I do want to re read the Alice and Zombieland trilogy….. yes I said trilogy….. I’m pretending like book four isn’t real (all you need to know was that I was lied too). This wasn’t as long as the last one. Maybe because I didn’t read two F’s and I didn’t have a lot to rant about. I hope you enjoyed this review *many reviews and make sure to look out for more coming your way. Books I Read This Month! | August

Greetings Earthlings! Today I’m talking about all the books I read this month! So if you didn’t know, I was going to do my Summer Reads again like I did last year but I read so many books this summer that I just give up and I decided not to post it this year. Hopefully I’ll continue doing this and not give up on it like I did with the Summer Reads thing. This is basically I wrap up which a lot of people do but I’ve never done one because a lot people do them and I like to be away from the crowd and two because I read really fast and I don’t have a life so I read a lot of books very month. But I’m doing this because I have lots of opinions and I don’t review a lot of the books I read which makes me sad. So I’m doing this and I’m not calling it a wrap up because I like pretending that I’m like I have a different idea! *it’s basically a wrap up but i’m in denial. this is a really long intro

Let’s begin!

Windfall by Jennifer E. Smith

windfall.jpg

+B: Had a weird pace and took me a while to like the characters.

I enjoyed this book which was surprising as it was a lot happier then I thought it was going to be. I mean it’s not the happiest book in the world like a lot of the characters have real issues that they go through and it’s sad but it’s a book about a lottery and a girl in love with her best friend and the lottery has an effect on their relationship. Like by that small summary which I was given by watching book tubers, I was just like this book will probably be sad and emotional and angsty and I love me so angsty books. Like everyone hates New Moon but that’s my favorite one the whole series because ANGSTY central. But this wasn’t as angsty as I had hope as I had thought that the lottery would have a negative on their relationship but it didn’t. I did enjoy this book and I would recommend this book to people who are interested in it and like books like this.

Dying to Return by Trish Marie Dawson

dying to return.jpg

F: Wasn’t a good read and a was a waste of time. Characters were dulled and annoying and so was the plot line.

Wow this was really and epically disappointing. You know when you read a series and the first book was AMAZING and the second was ALSO AMAZING! And I was looking forward to reading this book and I started it and um this book was terrible. Okay so the main problem I had with this book was that it completely changes from what the other two books had. The first two books in the Station series is about a girl who commits suicide and she wakes up in this place called the Station where people who committed go after they die and they are given the job to stop others from committing suicide. But then book two ends with our main lead being taking away and I thought maybe they’ll bring her back to life or send her to hell but instead she’s taken to another planet in space……. where they communicate through their minds…… YEAH YOU READ THAT RIGHT! It’s probably explained better in the book but I was too busy being in what the hell mood to try and understand. I couldn’t even finish it like I was so mad and disappointed cause I spent my birthday amazon gift car on this. Turns out there is a book four which I will only read when it’s on sale or free at the library.

Warcross by Marie Lu

warcross

-A: Good story with characters that got better and a slow plot line

So I’m doing a full review which might be out by the time this is out. Probably not. But the point is I’m not going to give my whole opinion on the book right now so that you all will have to read that review. I got this book at ALA as an arc so it’s probably not out yet. It comes out September 12, 2017 so if you are interested in it then you can get then. I have a story with this book. So I went to ALA and I was looking at who was going be there and I saw that Marie Lu had a signing the first day at 10:00 and I was like no way am I missing this. So the next morning I’m ready to go and get my signed book but my family isn’t ready. A couple minutes later we ready to go but then my cousin is like wait I’m not ready give me a couple more minutes. A couple minutes turned out to be 15 minutes and suddenly it’s ten clock and I’m still at the hotel! We finally leave the hotel and i get to center and it’s 10:45 and then there is the sign that says the line is closed. On day three of ALA I’m still a little sad but then my sister and I see a sign that says Marie Lu WARCROSS signing and I’M LIKE YES! Almost missed her again because the Alexandra Bracken signing was long but my mom held my spot in line and I got to met Marie Lu! I very much enjoyed this book which didn’t surprise me as I love Marie Lu her books are so amazing. I honestly thought though this was going to be more emotional then it was. I guess I’m still hurt from the impact that the Legend books had on me *if you’ve read those books then you understand. I did enjoy this book and I would say more but I want you to read my review so look out for that.

A Whole New World by Liz Braswell

a whole new world.jpg

+B: Had a weird pace and took me a while to like the characters.

I love fairytale retellings! They are really great! When I say fairytale retellings I mean new things are added and the story line is changed so that you can still feel the original story but it’s not the same. Which is great if you don’t like some of the elements of the original. I don’t mean the whole let’s copy and paste the original story, change the names and the setting, and instead of losing her shoe she loses something like  her phone, her iPod, her virginity or her fish whatever it’s gone. I read As Old as Time which is also apart of A Twisted Tale series and I really enjoyed that book so I figure I should read another one. The whole point of this series is that Liz Braswell takes a fairytale and adds or changes something from the story and it creates something a interested fairytale. I liked this a little more then I liked AS Old as Time because As Old as Time the half of that book is Beauty and the Beast the movie in book form before it’s changes things up but with this book it changes into a different story faster and even though there are still somethings from the movie but the dialogue is different so yeah. I did think that As Old as Time was a little more interesting then this as sometimes I was enjoying it and sometimes I would be like okay can we just move forward. Oh yeah this is an Aladdin retelling by the way because I didn’t say before.

Heartless by Marissa Meyer

heartless.jpg

-A: Good story with characters that got better and a slow plot line

Again I love retellings and I also love retellings of villains or villain back stories because a lot of time you get to look at them a different way and that’s what you with this book. I feel like I should start with the fact that this was heartbreaking! I always forget when I start books about what villains are like before they become villains that the books aren’t going happy ending. I started reading and I got Lock and Mori flashes backs because I know this isn’t going to be happy in the end because we all know about the Queen of Hearts and how she is crazy for chopping off heads. I love / hate origin stories of villains because it makes you care about them and you watch their lives go down hill and suddenly they become bad people and it’s sad! I enjoyed this book even though I had a hard time getting into it as I remembered what was probably waiting for me. One thing I do like about reading about villains before they were villains is see that final push that shoves them over that psychotic edge and how Catherine it broke my heart. The boy she loved was killed and the guy was going to be freed and married someone she didn’t want to marry after all that her parents are just like ‘are you sure this what you want? because if it’s not then you don’t have to do’ and if I’m being honest I wanted to scream when I read that scene like she told what she wanted in the beginning and you were like NO and now after everything your finally asking that question! I liked this book Marissa Meyer as done it again and I would recommend this book to others.

The Upside of Unrequited by Becky Albertalli

upside of unrequited.jpg

+B: Had a weird pace and took me a while to like the characters.

This was written by the author of Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda which is a very popular book and is being turned into a movie soon so that’s cool and has nothing to do with this book. This book is about unrequited love if you couldn’t tell and it follows a girl who has had twenty six crushes in her life and has never had a boyfriend. Her twin sister on the other has hooked up with people and had girlfriends. The two sisters have a good friendship but once her sister begins a new relationship that has an effect on their friendship. I related so hard to this book as a person who has had a lot of crushes but never a boyfriend. Like I read this while I was backstage at my show and I had to stop because I was going to cry and I had blue and purple paint on my face and if I cried it would have ruined my makeup and people would yell at me for messing it. The one day I wear make up is the one day I need to book cry.  But yeah I really enjoyed this book because what the main character was describing was how I feel whenever I have a crush a someone and they are into someone us or have a girlfriend or just aren’t interested in me.

November 9th by Colleen Hoover

november-nine-9781501110344_lg

+ A: Perfect story with get characters and fantastic plot line.

This is like my fourth time re reading this book. It’s the second time I’ve read it this year. I usually only allow myself to re read a book once a year but for some reason I decide I need to re read this book. If I’m being honest it’s because I finally read Confess which is my September book of the month and once I read a Colleen Hoover book I have to read all of them because her books are like crack and I’ll read them over and over again then I’ll stop and then she’ll release another one and I’m back in the same boat that I was in before. This used to be one of my favorite ones by her but I recently read It Ends With Us and that makes was sad and real so you know I love it. I just like this book because it’s a fun romance with lots of drama. The only thing I have to complain about is Colleen Hoover gives her male characters a giant flaw that you makes me wonder if I should still like them or not. *spoilers because i need to talk about this See in this book we learn that the male character, Ben, sets fire to Fallon’s house before they started dating when Fallon was a teenager and she is injure from it. He didn’t mean to hurt her, he was mad at her dad and didn’t even know about Fallon but every time I read this book I still don’t know what to do with this relationship. Tell me what you think.

-B: Could has better and was too slow and only got good at the end

This was the first book I read by Colleen Hoover and it’s not even my favorite but for some reasons I keep re reading it and I have no idea why. Again I’ve read this twice this year for some reason! The thing about this book is that it’s very cheesy and I knew that they were going to get a happy ending and compared to all of her other books I just don’t love it as much as her other books. I’m being so negative right. I’m not saying I hate this book, it’s a good book with again another male character with a giant flaw and I don’t know if I’m supposed to still like him and feel bad or grossed out. But it’s a good book!

Little Monsters by Kara Thomas

little monsters.jpg

F: Wasn’t a good read and a was a waste of time. Characters were dulled and annoying and so was the plot line.

*sighs I got this book at ALA and I got it because Kara Thomas wrote the Darkest Corners a book that I have not read or planing on reading after reading this book but it was a book that everyone talked about. I picked up this book because it was the Bookplosion book of the month and I never have the book that they pick out and I was like I HAVE A BOOKPLOSION BOOK FOR THIS MONTH I mean I got weirdly happy that I finally had their book of the month. My excited so died when I read the summary and I’m like this sounds like Riverdale and my brain was no put the fucking book down but I was like let’s not judge it just by that. It’s just summary. I’ll give it a try, I mean I did give Riverdale a try and I ended but hating it but this could be different. I could like it. HAHAHAHAHAHA! Yeah I didn’t like this book. Well let’s just start with the fact that it has underage drinking, step siblings hooking up, an ending that I’m not to sure about how really killed that chick, some very questionable friendships. So yeah I guess this could be Riverdale in book form. Like the point is I don’t support the things in this book and I didn’t find the main lead interesting and I wasn’t able to connect with her.

Here’s my goodreads review: Well I was pretty bored reading this and then the ending came and we learn things about then main character that I didn’t like. I didn’t sign up for Riverdale in book form

The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald

TheGreatGatsby

+C: A work in progress. Okay writing, not so great characters and story line but pulled through and was readable.

I went into this book with really low expectations for this book which is what I think made me like more then I thought I would. I had to read this for my english class and I read it like two hours because it’s so short. I honestly I didn’t hate this book, I mean is it the best book in the whole Universe? No I mean the character in this book aren’t that likable and are flawed and Gatsby and Daisy aren’t even that great of couple. Daisy annoyed me so much like every other sentence she’s asking who someone is like even at one point she asks who Tom is and I’m like girl that’s your husband! I found this book okay, I didn’t find any reasons to love but I didn’t find any reason to hate it either so. It’s an okay book.

Once and For All by Sarah Dessen

once and for all.jpg

-C: Was expecting more than I got. Characters didn’t get any development until halfway.

I don’t know why but for some reasons I can’t get into Sarah Dessen books. This is the third book I’ve read by her and again I can’t connect with any of this book. Every time I pick her books, I read the summary and the book sounds great but then I read it and I’m disappointed. The same thing happened with this book it sounded so cute but I didn’t really like it. I couldn’t connect with the story or the characters and did Ambrose and Louana even get together because I feel like they didn’t even have any romantic scenes together. I didn’t really enjoy this book I enjoyed the idea of this book and I wish I had went and gotten Big Little Lies instead of getting this book because I wanted Big Little Lies more but I thought I enjoy this book more so I didn’t get Big Little Lies.

Well that was fun. I enjoyed ranting about the books I’ve read this month. I can’t wait to do another one of these again. Hopefully you agreed with everything I had to say, you probably didn’t let’s be honest. I read two books this month that were Fs. I’ve never so many Fs in one month. Hopefully it’s just a one time thing. Please let it be a one time thing. This was surprising long. I mean 3000 words. Guess I had too much fun ranting. I hope you enjoyed this review *many reviews and make sure to look out for more coming your way. You should follow my book club here and other social media links. I enjoyed this more then I enjoyed Romeo and Juliet! | Still Star-Crossed by Melinda Taub review

Greetings Earthlings! Today I’m reviewing my August book of the month Still Star-Crossed by Melinda Taub!

still star crossed

+B: Had a weird pace and took me a while to like the characters.

In fair Verona, enemies still walk the streets. Two news hearts. Same two families.”

So I feel like I should start with the fact that I started watching the show before I read this book. I’m sorry. DON’T JUDGE ME! I didn’t know that this was based off a book until like episode four and I couldn’t get the book for awhile and then I finally found it the library and then I read it and then I finished the show and it’s now my book of the month so here we are. I also feel like I should say that I don’t like Romeo and Juliet or Shakespeare that much ….. again with the judgment. I’m sorry but Romeo and Juliet is so instalovey and they knew each other for three days and they got married and died. That’s not the best relationship ever. Why do all the weirdest relationships get praised as the best things ever and relationship goals. Like Catherine and Heathcliff, Edward and Bella, Tate and Violet, that Grey guy and his girlfriend *i don’t know their names, and of course Romeo and Juliet. They aren’t healthy! I don’t like Shakespeare because his characters also make the wrong decision instead of DOING THE REASONABLE THINGS AND JUST TALKING!!! Okay I’m done talking about that let’s get on with the review.

This book takes place after Romeo and Juliet have died but instead of the families coming to peace like they did in the book, they start fighting again and it’s even worse this time around. Juliet’s statue is destroy and chaos is going through the streets and the prince Escalus decides that he needs these people to stop. He decides that two of these people need to get married from the families and the two picked are our leads for this story, Rosaline and Benvoli. I enjoyed this story, it’s very fun, it’s filled with romance and action, the relationships are great. This is so much fun and I loved it.

I loved Benvolio and Rosaline’s relationship. It wasn’t instalovely like Romeo and Juliet’s relationship. At first they don’t really get a long but then they do and they start trusting each other and they fall in love and I love it. It’s better then Romeo and Juliet in my opinion. I love when they reunite and she tells him that Ecalus proposed to her and he is like what did you say and she just keeps talking and making him wait and he’s like ‘just tell me what you said’ and she tells that him that she can’t marry Ecalus because she loves him. It’s just so cute! Unfortunately the book ends like the next page after this scene and I’m like I wanted more.

Ecalus is an okay character, he is kind of a dick in this book. I like TV Ecalus better, I mean he has his issues but he was nicer in the beginning. I also like TV shows Isabelle more then book Isabelle but that’s because we don’t see a lot of her in this book. Can we talk about that she is marry to Don Pedro who is a character in Much Ado about Nothing and she mentions Benedick and I’m like I UNDERSTOOD THAT REFERENCE!! I even if  I didn’t like Much Ado About Nothing… again his characters need to talk shit out before completing actions.

I enjoyed this book so much and I would recommend this book to romance lovers and people who like happy making books. Have you guys read this book? If you have did you love it or did you hate it? I hope you guys liked. My review for the tv is coming soon, like it’s scheduled to come out next week. I have so many new post schedule. Like I have the rest August and the first two weeks of September. I’m excited for the next couple weeks. I like that I will do Confess by Colleen Hoover or The Handmaid’s Tale. I might save the Handmaid’s Tale for October as I’m not that done with the show and the society scares the shit out of me. I hope you enjoyed this review and make sure to look out for more coming your way. You should follow my book club here and other social media links. I posted rants like this once a week every week. Screaming because EMOTIONS and a whole lot of Buffy references | The Carnelian Crow by Colleen Gleason

Greetings Earthlings! Today I’m reviewing The Carnelian Crow by Colleen Gleason, the fourth book in the Stoker and Holmes series!

WARNING SPOILERS

C6_J-YDW0AE7Zq2

Rating: -A: Good story with characters that got better and a slow plot line

Oh my god! GUYS THIS BOOK LIKE I DON’T EVEN KNOW WHERE TO STARTED! I’ll start like this hi I’m Grace and earlier in the year I read this first three books in the Stoker and Holmes series by Colleen Gleason and I loved them. If you would like to hear my full thoughts on them then click right here to read the review. I was so excited for this book because the third book was so great and I love this series. The book follows Evaline Stoker, the sister of Bram Stoker, and Mina Holmes, the niece of Sherlock Holmes, and they are back at it solving crimes together and it’s amazing but at the same time this book fucked me and it fucked me up hard.

So I’m just jumping right to thing I want to talk first which was that I was right that we weren’t going to see the last Dylan! He pops up in the last chapter and I don’t get me wrong I was happy to see him but through out the book we are given all this development with Grayling and Mina’s relationship like in the beginning of the other books she calls him her nemesis but she doesn’t and they start began friends and IM LOVING IT!

I became accustomed to the feel of his leg brushing against my skirt, and I discovered I rather enjoyed the slight movement of the muscles in his arm beneath my hand.”

When I read that quote I was just dying because I ship them so much and Ambrose really likes her. He evens asks if she can start calling him by her name and I was hoping for them to kiss or start dating which the dating thing because he asks her out to the ball thing and I was facing palming when Mina was like what case are we going to solve by going to this ball and he is just like um.. we aren’t I asked because I wanted you to go with because I thought it would be nice.

Case. Right. Er…Miss Holmes, I regret to inform you that…och, well…that I had no particular case in mind to investigate tonight. I merely—that is to say—I merely thought it would be pleasant to attend the Yule Fête. With—er you .”

I blinked.

And suddenly, just as my bedchamber had seemed to shrink in size when he’d gone in to investigate the crow markings outside my window, so did the interior of the carriage all at once become much smaller.

Not in an uncomfortable way, but in a very… aware sort of way. A strangely pleasant way .

“I see . I -”

He rushed on, “I do hope you aren’t disappointed, Miss Holmes .”

“No. No, no, no, I’m not disappointed,” I said quickly, aware that my face had become undeniably warmer. I certainly hoped he couldn’t see what surely must be a bright red tint in my cheeks. “Not at all .”

“I’m relieved to hear that.” He hesitated, then continued, “After all, we had discussed perhaps meeting at the British Museum to take in the Japanese woodprint exhibit. And when Lady Cosgrove-Pitt insisted I attend the fête tonight, I…well, I thought of you.”

Now my cheeks felt as if they were on fire, and I shifted on the bench seat in an effort to move out of the small circle of light so as to hide the glow beneath my skin. Though it was so bright he probably could see it in the dark. “I am most obliged, Inspector.”

Oh Mina you are so smart but so obvious when it comes to man. Yeah so as I was saying I like Dylan. He is a good character, a big cinnamon roll, and he also cares about Mina but I can’t see them together. I talked about this in my last review for the three books, I don’t what them together because I don’t think that they are a good match for each other and I think Ambrose and Mina are a great pair and that really shows in this book as they work together and make something really great. But then Dylan comes back and he comes back because 2016 isn’t the same as it was before and he had to come back. I was happy to see him but at the same time I was like no. Dylan baby I love you but you couldn’t have come at a worst time.

Now let’s talk about my baby girl Evaline who is basically Buffy in Steampunk 1890s. I’m sad to say that #giveevalinelove2017 has failed. Evaline had such a sad storyline, I mean it wasn’t the sad I mean just the impact it had on her and the fact that she deserves real love makes it sad. So after the whole saying that if it came to then Evaline would kill Pix and then she hasn’t heard from him and then suddenly her sister in law Florence says that because of finances and Bram working on his novel that Evaline can return home to Ireland or she has to get married.

Evaline,” she began in a hard, impersonal voice. “It’s…it’s more than that. We… Well, Bram has been spending so much extra time working on his novel that he’s neglected our finances. Even worse, some of his investments weren’t very smart, and with the change in laws and taxes and tariffs…well, things are dire. So dire, in fact, that by the first of the year, we will be faced with two choices: go back to Ireland and move in with your parents, or…” She hesitated, then rushed on. “Or you must marry.”

Evaline is just like how ever heard of a vampire hunter getting married and I’m like no one.

It was part of my heritage. Part of my history.

I couldn’t…

But I couldn’t get married, either.

Whoever heard of a vampire hunter getting married?”

Normal girls marry vampires and Evaline isn’t a normal girl, she’s like Buffy and Buffy never married anyone. Also I’m thinking Pix is more her Spike then her Angel. I’m not saying that’s my official opinion but that’s what I’m leaning towards right now.

Evaline starts looking for suitors and she mets this guy named Ned *what a basic ass name but she still holds a torch for Pix and I feel so bad for this because I have a bad feeling that my baby is going to be alone. Buffy ended up alone and that’s because being a vampire hunter is no easy life. She gets engaged to this Ned guy and the what do you know Pix finally returns! I think it’s weird that I finally like Pix and then suddenly he has such a small part in this book. WHY?!?!?!

The book has kind of a sad ending as Dylan and Miss. Alder return yeah she was missing the whole book until the end. Then Ambrose arrests Pix because there was a death and he’s been accused of doing it and both Ambrose and Pix seem so sad because Evaline is getting married and Dylan has returned and he knows that Mina and him like each other and their both upset and I’m like no please don’t have them get all this development and then abandoned it! Please Colleen Gleason! DON’T DO THIS TO ME!! PLEASE DON’T DO THIS!!

Neither of them gave us a backward glance.”

Even though I loved this book, unfortunately there were two things I didn’t really like. For one the writing style seemed different for some reason and I don’t know it really enjoy that and for some reason it has like future Mina and Evaline like interrupting the story and I didn’t remember that happening before. Did I just miss that before in the last three books or is that new? I don’t know I thought it was weird. Also for some reason the feel of the book didn’t feel the same to me. It’s probably because Evaline and Mina aren’t together a lot and that made me upset because they are such a great team together.

Other than that I enjoyed this book a lot and I’m so sad that this series is coming to an end. We only have one more book! I DON’T WANT IT TO END! AND CAN MINA AND GRAYLING GET TOGETHER IN THE NEXT BOOK? AND CAN #GIVEEVALINELOVE2017 A THING? I’m excited for book five and I can’t wait to see how Colleen Gleason wraps the series up. I think I’m going to have to post more then once a week for a while because I have so much to do! Also I have a poll on Twitter for my next book of the month so please go vote on that. The choices are between the Handmaid’s Tale and Still Star-Crossed which is winning. Have you guys read this book? What did you think of it? Did you like or did you hate it? 13 Reasons Why by Jay Asher BOOK review / RANT

Greetings Earthling! Today I’m talking about 13 Reasons Why by Jay Asher, not the show, which is also my July book of the month!

WARNING SPOILERS

AND COMPLAINTS FROM A VERY BITTER GIRL

BUT FIRST A MESSAGE FROM THAT GIRL

HEY EVERYONE! So I need you to read this part before we began the review. I need to say  this because I have a feeling that I might make some people upset for this review. I know that we all have different opinions and the world and I know that I can’t change people’s opinions but I don’t want to hurt anyones feelings. So if you liked 13 Reasons Why then you need to not read this review. I say this again in the review but I’m going to give you this warning now. Okay? Okay. You can continue.

636274955462993937-2016165915_thirteen-reasons-why.jpg

Rating: D – Nothing seem to happen. The characters had a bad attitude or were boring until the end. Story didn’t know what it wanted.

You can’t stop the future
You can’t rewind the past
The only way to learn the secret
…is to press play.”

*sighs deeply of frustration and disappointment about the kids in my generation. So a lot of you have probably heard about the show that claims it is based off this book. It’s not, it just has the same name as the book. If you couldn’t tell I’m very against the show. If you like the show or the book then I think you should leave because it’s about to get mean. I’m sorry.

This is my second time reading this book, I read it the first time in like 2014 and I liked it. I didn’t love it mainly because reading books about suicide has always been a touchy subject for me. I gave it three stars the first time which is a rating I have given to another books that deal with suicide like Playlist for the Dead and All The Bright Places. I thought it was okay book that dealt for a subject that is hard to talk about, trust me I know I’m writing about it and it’s hard. It’s also hard to read. For this book and All the Bright Places, I know that these book have a lot of controversy. Some find them great and these books helped them but for people like me it wasn’t like that.

I reread this book because it is my July book of the month for my book club and because the show had come out and I didn’t remember a lot. I haven’t seen the show yet but I will. I started watching it but I could already see that it was different for the book and mainly because it was popular so I decided that I would wait for the hype to die down before watching the show. Like I said this book wasn’t for me but I still liked it then I reread it and I didn’t like it as much.

This book follows Hannah Baker and Clay Jenson, Hannah has committed suicide and Clay was a guy who always wanted to be Hannah’s friend or maybe something a little bit more but he never got the chance. A couple days after her death, he revives a books full of tapes that has Hannah talking about people who did things to cause her to take her own life and there are seven tapes which are doubled sided, making it 13 Thirteen Reasons. The only people who get them are the ones who have a tape and Clay is on one of these tapes. Now I like Jay Asher and I like what he was going for, I got to read some interview questions that where in the back of his book. He talked about how he went around and talked to girls and what they struggled in high school but the general theme of this book bothers me. Which is that love can heal depression.

This is a trope and an idea that has been passed around through different shows and books and I hate it. Love can help you through depression but it can’t heal depression. This is shown by the fact that Hannah says that no one really seem care enough about her and if they had then she would have been better.

A lot of you cared, just not enough.”

I hate this belief and I hate it keeps coming up in different things. Hannah also blames everyone for taking her own life. Taking your life is your own decision and even though things bit have happened to lead to this decision still you shouldn’t do that. I didn’t like the fact that Clay is blamed for not loving Hannah and not being there for her and it’s said he could have saved her. I just didn’t like it! I did like some parts of this book though. I like *well I didn’t really like but i found it heartbreaking how Clay wanted to be there for Hannah before she died. Clay is a good character and honestly he was the one out of the all the types that I cared about and he didn’t do anything terrible to her. Also even though I’ve complained about Hannah I did like her and she didn’t deserve anything that happened to her *no one deserves to go through that. I mean she got her first kiss and then a rumor went around that she and Justin did more then kiss and everyone at school started believe and then her friends abandoned her and it’s so sad.

Another thing that I liked is the message that our actions and what we do have affects on people that surround us. I mean one of the reasons that I think Hannah does these tapes is to tell everyone about how their actions effected her and her life. I mean Justin started a rumor that everyone believed and then her friends stopped being her friends and a lot of other stuff followed. One of the things that you should think about after reading this book is your actions and how the affect others.

The book also deals with what people think about you and saying terrible things about you and also rape. Near the end of the book, Hannah gets rape by a guy and it’s a really hard scene. Just reading it was hard. This whole book was hard. I’m sorry if you liked this book and it changed your life then I’m happy for you but it didn’t have the same affect on me. I thought this book was okay, I just don’t like the messages through out it. The only message that I liked was that the things we do and say have effects on people. I’ll be having my Spiderman: Homecoming review coming next week followed by my 13 Reasons Why show review. Have you guys read this book? What did you think of it? Did you like or did you hate it? Let me know! I hope you enjoyed this review and make sure to look out for more coming your way. YOU HAVE TO WATCH MIRACULOUS: TALES OF LADYBUG AND CAT NOIR! | Part Two

Greetings Earthlings! Today I’m talking about my new obsession Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir for the second time because I still have somethings I need to talk about and yeah I decided to make a part two!

ladybug

Rating: -A: Good story with characters that got better and a slow plot line

So this is my second review for Miraculous. My first review which will come out before this one and you can read here is 2284 words and I finished it and I was happy with it but then I started rewatching the show again and now I have more things to say so we are doing another review. I don’t know when this review will come out but it will happen after the first post. I’m not going to do a non spoiler part of this review like I do with most shows but because I have a first review with a non spoiler section and nothing has changed when it comes to my opinion of the show so there is no point in doing it again.

Let’s began!

WARNING SPOILERS

IF YOU HAVEN’T WATCHED THE SHOW AND YOU WANT TO THEN LEAVE!

IF YOU HAVE THEN GO READ MY FIRST REVIEW!

Okay so like I said before in my last review this show is cheesy as hell, every episode is basically the same except the villain is different but for some reason I love it. It so much fun to watch and I have watch twice more since I wrote my last review because I love it so much. I’m mainly watching right now because if you read my last writing post then you know that I’m doing CampNaNoWrimo and I like writing to a show and this has become a show that I write to. But still it was so much fun. One of the reasons I’m doing this second review so because I kept rewatching the show and all these other thoughts and feelings popped up and I’m like I need to talk about these things.

First thing I want to talk about is the Agreste family. Now I love Adrien, he is so sweet and I love him and I’ve talked about how good his character is because he has the storyline of a villain or an angsty superhero. He was born into a rich family, his mother is either dead or missing, his father is cold to him, he is not allowed to go outside and when he is he had to have a bodyguard with him, and suddenly he is given this ring that gives him power and instead of using that power of evil, he uses it for good. Also instead of being superhero that wears all black and dresses close to an animal and is used in angsty darker atmosphere.

*coughs loudly

tdk6vh111

But he’s not instead, he is kid who dresses as a cat and saves Paris while telling an insane amount of puns and chases after Ladybug. That’s how you create with a tragic backstory and make them have a heart of gold. You don’t need them to be all mean and angsty and then have them be like yeah I’m really a nice guy who is genius *i can not express to you how much i hate this trope and i can never escape it! it’s everywhere. So like I was saying the Agreste family has a lot of things that aren’t known. We know that Adrien’s mother is not around anymore and this clearly has in a effect on everyone in the family and we know it was recent in the storyline because in the Christmas special, Natalie is talking to his dad and she is like okay this is also Adrien’s first Christmas without his mother so you should spend it together.

So that’s all we really know about his mom. I thought she was dead but apparently according to something I saw she is missing but I have no idea. We know a lot about his dad. He is a fashion designer who is really cold to everyone including his son. For some reason he doesn’t let his son outside with his body guard. I just want to know why the hell a fashion designer’s son needs to go outside with A BODYGUARD? Like what the fuck! Why!! Does it have something to do with the fact that is mother is gone? Is it because he is a teen model and like everyone in Paris is in love with him? I don’t know but I think it is weird! He is like stubborn like in the episode Simon Says the villain of that episode, Simon Says is after him and he is like nope I’m fine in my house. And he gets kidnaped. Yeah saw that one coming.

Here is one thing that I believe that I only mentioned once in the first part and that is the fact that I think Adrien’s dad is Hawk Moth, the main villain behind all of it. So I’m not the only one who believes it. I only think this because if you watch the origins episode you’ll find Hawk Moth looking at his miraculous brooch thing and there is a picture of a woman in there who looks like Adrien’s mom. That’s it really. Also the whole family thing were one is a hero and does the right thing while the other does terrible things and is a villain trope.

Let’s talk about Hawk Moth now! Like I said main villain for the whole show, he finds the  moth brooch and he uses it for villain despite the fact that miraculous are supposed to be used for good and his kwami tells him that he can’t do that but he doesn’t listen and anytime someone gets upset or angry, he creates these things called akumas and sends them to those people, making them villains. One things that I’m curious about is how Hawk Moth uses his superpower and somehow stays in his outfit for like the whole episode. Like if it works the same as Cat Noir and Ladybug then you only have five minutes before you turn back because your Kwamis need a break to get their energy back because Kwamis give everyone their powers. So like how does he do it? Also he needs to come up with a different plan to get the Ladybug and Cat Noir’s miraculous because there are 26 episodes and very episode he tries the same plan but on different people and it never seems work. That’s 26 tries and it is same that more happen in storylines that we don’t see. You need a plan man.

Someone needs to get you a book called how to steal from superheroes.

The kwamis are a good part of the story. Every miraculous has a kwami and Marinette has Tikki who is the cutest things ever and Adrien has Plagg who is lazy and funny as hell. I love them both. Tikki is the cutest thing and she helps Marinette when it comes to making decisions and she tells her what she should do and Marinette never really listens.   She loves cookies and she basically lives in Marinette’s purse which is weird because a lot of people have seen her talking to her purse or seen Tikki sticking out of her purse which was so funny because she just goes meow.

Tikki_the_Cutsie.gif

So Adrien has Plagg who is me. Like he is lazy, only wants to eat cheese, is funny, and sour. The only difference is that he is easygoing and I’m like always stressed out. I want to be Tikki though but I’m Plagg. There’s like no fighting it.

plagg.gif

Also one that I’m curious about this can Plagg and Tikki feel each other when their are with Marinette and Adrien or do they know each other. I feel like they might be able to tell if their is another kwami in the room. Do they know who ladybug and cat noir really are and they aren’t telling them? I also want to know more about the Kwamis past because you know that they are old. Also since there have been other heroes do they all have the same name because in the episode the Pharaoh, we discover that they have been a lot of ladybugs and in the episode origins we see them pick out their names so does everyone have a lack of creativity when it comes to superhero names? I guess isn’t really a name that you can come up with that goes with a red suit with black spots and a black suit with cat ears. And they do have miraculous called the earrings of the ladybug and the ring of the cat.

So season two is coming in like two to three months if they keep their word that it’s happening. Because they first said May but that didn’t happen and I need a season two now. The writes have been giving a lot of shit away for season two like who is getting the bee miraculous, it’s Chloe by the way, and I think it’s said that Alya is getting the fox miraculous but I don’t know maybe that is just fans saying that want her to get the miraculous. I think it’s great idea mainly because I think Alya would be a great superhero and I’m loving the fanart I’m seeing. Chloe on the other hand is a terrible. She is a lot of the time, the reason that most of these people get akamaized and she is so annoying. Another thing that has been said is that Adrienette is happening which I’m excited for and I think the reveal is happening. I’m excited though!

I think we are getting more characters to which is good because I think everyone in Marinette and Adrien’s class has been akamized so unless season two involves only outsiders then we got to met new people. Also I don’t want the whole either Adrien or Marinette get akamized story line. Like I’m not saying that if it happens I’ll become one of those fans who will stop watching the show or send rude ass hate mail to the writers, I’m saying that if it happens then my heart WON’T BE ABLE TO HANDLE IT! I think it would be interesting but yeah I won’t be able to handle it. If it does happen then you’ll probably hear someone scream / crying then that’s me.

So I think I have talked about everything on. Like I said this show is amazing and it’s so much fun to watch. Like I’ve watch it so many times already. I love it. It is really cheesy but I love it so much. You guys should totally watch it. If you have then what did you think of it? Did you like it as much as I did? Let me know! I hope you enjoyed this review and make sure to look out for more coming your way. YOU HAVE TO WATCH MIRACULOUS: TALES OF LADYBUG AND CAT NOIR!

Greetings Earthlings! Today I’m talking about my new obsession Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir! *or miraculous or miraculous ladybug depending on where you live

ladybug

Rating: -A: Good book with characters that got better and a slow plot line

If you are on the internet or Tumblr a lot, then chances are you have heard of this show. That’s how I heard about it. I was just scrolling through Tumblr and I saw gifs of it and I found out what it called and I thought this looks cute. I went to ALA this week and my sister had started watching this show but I didn’t know what the show was called until we were in the car on my way home when I figured out what she was watching. At first I thought it was really cheesy but then I spent the rest of the car ride looking over the sit trying to watch it.

This show is a French animated show that follows the two main heroes Marinette Dupain-Cheng aka Ladybug and Adrien Agreste aka Cat Noir. These two have the powers of the miraculous giving them the ability to transform and get cool powers. The show follows them fighting and protecting Paris along with their Kwamis, Tikki and Plagg, and their main enemy is Hawk Moth really wants their miraculous because Marinette and Adrien have the most powerful miraculous and they are very powerful when used together *I really hope I’m not giving anything away. Hawk Moth puts akumas on people who are sad or angry turning them into villains as a chance for Hawk Moth to get their miraculous because he can’t leave his cage.

Every episode is basically the same thing expect with a different villain changing things up a bit for each episode. Like most kids shows. This show is cheesy as hell and is filled with bad puns but despite all that I love it with all my fucking heart and I’m really obsessed with it and as I’m writing this I’m watching the show for the second time but in a different order. I don’t know what it is about this show that makes me love it so much. Through is only one thing that bothers me and I’m not going to talk about it right now because I’m scared of giving spoilers but if you watch the show then you know what  I’m talking about because I’m not the only one bothered by this which is why it has an -A and not an +A.

I love the characters, I love the cheesy lines, I love the story lines, I love this show in general. If you haven’t watched this show then you need to go watch it right. The whole first season is on Netflix a long with the Christmas special. They are like 21 minutes long and there are 25 of them. Go watch them! Do it! That’s it for my non spoilery part of this review so if you haven’t watched this show then you have to leave because I’m not holding anything because this show fucked me up real good.

WARNING SPOILERS

IF YOU WANT TO WATCH THE SHOW THEN LEAVE

DON’T SAY I DIDN’T WARN YOU

OKAY SO THIS SHOW IS AMAZING and it ruined me. And it’s only a kid show. If you look at the age group of the show on Netflix then you’ll see that it is for 9 – 12 and I’m none of those ages but I’m not the only one so that’s good. I’m on my third time watching on the show. The first time I watched it in the order Netflix has it but then I went on Wiki and the episode aired in different order so I watched the episode in that order which makes more sense. I recommend watching it that way. Now I’m watching them in a completely random order.

We are just gonna have to jump right in from the beginning because I have no clue where to start *by that I mean the origins episode which is my favorite. We are told that there are these things called the Miraculous which can give anyone powers but they have to be given to the right person or else bad shit happens which is how we get our villain for this story. Hawk Moth *or Adrian’s dad if you are like me and you believe that finds the Moth Brooch and uses it for evil. Master Fu has the all the other miraculous he is like we have to get other heroes out there. Like I said before the show follows Marinette is a sweet girl who is clumsy and wants to be a fashion designer and then we have Adrian who is a cinnamon roll and needs to be protected at all time. Master Fu decides to give Marinette the ladybug earrings and Adrian the cat ring and they become superheroes ad it’s amazing.

No one knows that Marinette is Ladybug or that Adrian is Cat Noir and it’s frustrating as hell! Because Marinette is in love with Adrian who she hated at first because she saw him trying to remove gum from her sit and she thought he was putting it on her first so she was like I hate you but he explained everything and she forgive him and fell in love with him but she has no one clue that he is Cat Noir who is head over heels for Ladybug who is Marinette but he doesn’t know that!! To round it up for you, Marinette loves Adrian who loves Ladybug but doesn’t know it’s Marinette who doesn’t like Cat Noir who is in love with Ladybug and flirts with Marinette. We have a love square with only two people. I didn’t like even think that was possible! I still ship them though and I was so excited when this moment happened.

Ladynoir_kiss.gif

I CAN I GET A YES!!!!!! Unfortunately she only did this to get him out of the spell he was under and I don’t think he remembers it. But still it happened and I’m love this moment so much! You have to wonder though she only had to give him a small peck and it had to be true love so just think about that *because she loves him too. I’ve been told according to spoilers on twitter that more kisses are coming on seasons two but I don’t know what to believe. The said that they are between Adrien and Marinette but are they just calling them that because those are their real names or because they kiss and not Ladybug and Cat Noir. I’m still excited though!

One of the things that bother me was how they wouldn’t recognized each other and it’s just not them, it’s everyone. No one can piece together that Marinette and Adrian are Ladybug and Cat Noir. Their disguises aren’t that great. It’s just their masks and their outfits, I mean Cat Noir’s hair changes a bit and his eyes are a little different but still. Nothing changes with Marinette like her hair is the same you know blue hair tied in pig tails. It’s like Oliver on the first season of Arrow where he just wears the hoodie and green paint on his eyes and somehow no one sees his face. At least Oliver changes his voice in the first season. I watched a theory on why people couldn’t recognize them and it made sense. The theory was that when they are transform magic is used on them so that people can only recognize as their hero forms. It makes sense because when Chloe dresses up as Ladybug people thought she was Ladybug despite the fact that she has blonde hair and wears it in a ponytail. But Alya thought that Adrien could be Cat Noir with a costume on so that kind of disproves that theory. I don’t know! Okay I DONT’ KNOW! I hoping that this is explained when season two comes along *if it ever does……

Let’s talk about some of the characters on this show. We have a lot of characters on this show, mainly so that every episode we can get a new villain but let’s start with the main two Adrien and Marinette. Marinette is Ladybug and she is so strong and she is confident and smart and strong mind when she is Ladybug but when she is Marinette she is really clumsy and spends most of her time obsessing over Adrien. I love her because she is really relatable. She’s like a female Peter Parker and I really like that about her. She also wants to be a fashion designer and like stands up for herself against the bitch that is Chloe and I’m like you go girl! So she is the reason that Cat Noir and Ladybug don’t know who they are. In episode seven, they are about to transform back into their real identities and Cat is like I won’t tell anyone but then she’s like none can know who we really are not even us. And I’m like why do you have to be like that and then I realize that I think she is scared of what people are going to say when they find out that she is Ladybug.

There is a big difference between how she acts when she is Ladybug and when is she Marinette like I said before. One of the things about Marinette is like that she really lacks in self-confidence. The began * and i mean origins people she wonders if she can even be Ladybug and even gives up at one point because she messed up once and thinks that she can’t do it right. So I’m thinking and I’m going off a post I saw on Pinterest, that she isn’t scared of people knowing her identity, she scared of people knowing who she is and then them be disappointed. I’m like really scared for that reveal scene which is said to be coming soon. I’m like afraid it’s going to go badly.  Let’s talk about Adrien who is too good for this world. He has the backstory of a villain or a really angsty superhero but instead of being either of those things, he is this sweet boy who just goes around saving the world and saying puns. I love him.

We have Alya who is Marinette’s best friend and then we have Nino who is Adrien’s best friend and they are sassy best friends well Alya is for Marinette. Alya loves superheroes and is a blogger and who basically do anything to get a lead on the story. Like in the origins episode the news is on and you see the villain and Alya is just following behind on her bike and I’m like girl you’re crazy. I enjoy these characters they mean well and want to be there for their friends. They are good characters and I like them better then our other background characters. We have Chloe who is a bitch and I hate her and we have Sabrina who is the girl Chloe pushes around. I don’t like her but it seems like she is getting the bee miraculous next season and I think Alya is becoming the fox miraculous. I’m even with Alya getting the fox miraculous but not Chloe. I hate Chloe, I find her really  annoying. I don’t know how she is going to get the miraculous though because don’t you have to be a good person? What if she think saves someone be mistake and Master Fu is like I’m going to pick her and that’s how she gets it because that would be really funny. I would enjoy that a lot.

Let’s talk about the character I hope to never see again which was Lila. We met her in the season final and she is telling everyone lies and she tells people that she has met Ladybug and she flirts with Adrien and Marinette hates her. She finds this book about miraculous *she didn’t find it she stole from Adrien and she is like I’ll pretend I’m the fox miraculous to get with Adrien. Ladybug is like you lying bitch that’s not true *I’m paraphrasing again and she gets embarrassed into front of Adrien so then she gets akumized and is like I kidnapped Adrien and Ladybug believes it but Cat Noir is like it’s not true but Ladybug doesn’t believe him and I’m like this could be a good time to tell her man but he doesn’t!  I’ve also seen fanart that shows Lila and Marinette becoming friends and I’m no.

I don’t want her around.

 I WANT HER GONE!

SHE’S NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR THIS SHOW!

This show is amazing and it’s so much fun to watch. Like I’ve watch it so many times already. I love it. You guys should totally watch it. If you have then what did you think of it? ITS GOT CRAZY! | Mind Games by Heather W. Petty review

Greetings Earthlings! Today I’m reviewing Mind Games by Heather W. Petty, the second book in the Lock and Mori series!

WARNING SPOILERS

Front-Cover-012216-Mind-Games

Rating: -A: Good book with characters that got better and a slow plot line

We were on separate paths, parallel for now, but still separate, our arms stretched across the gap to keep us connected. But the gap was still there, widening every day that I saw the innocent glint in Sherlock’s eyes and felt the black ash of rage staining mine.”

I reviewed the first book two weeks ago which you can read here. I posted that reviewed the first book on Twitter and Heather W. Petty liked it and replied.

Literally the day after I finished the first book, I was getting ready to write my review and I went on Amazon and this book was like 2.00 dollars and I was screaming in happiness. I finished this book before I finished by review for the first one. If you didn’t know these books follow a young James ‘Mori’ Moriarty and Sherlock ‘Lock’ Holmes. It’s sort of like a prequel to the rest of the Sherlock world, I think. I don’t really know. I loved that first book, it had a slow burning mystery, great characters, and an interesting plot line. I knew that when book two rolled around that it was going to be crazy and it was but in a good way!

That first book ended and I was just left think what the fuck is going to happen next because it ends with Mori saying that she will love Sherlock forever and she will never forgive him and I knew that it was a step towards Sherlock and Mori becoming enemies. In this book, the two have grew in distance. A part of Mori wants to forgive him but that other part of isn’t able to do it and it’s heartbreaking. I talked about in my last review how their relationship was heartbreaking because we all know how the relationship is going to end. That is still a factor to why it is heartbreaking but the main reason is because these characters clearly love each other but they keep pushing each other away. The once cute relationship has now disappear. The two are there for each other but they aren’t as close as they used to be. It’s mainly Mori who is doing this as she won’t forgive him.

I have rescued you, he seemed to say with his every look.

You have only prolonged the inevitable, I countered with mine. Sherlock had stopped my father from killing me. He obviously wasn’t sorry for doing that. But he’d made the call to send police my way, not even knowing if I needed rescue. He’d done it because he didn’t trust me. He didn’t care what would be best for my life or for my brothers’. He just didn’t want me to change. That’s what he’d said. He’d kept me from killing my father in some vain attempt at preserving what little innocence I still possessed.”

Sherlock continues to tried and make Mori forgive him but it doesn’t do anything. They do have one scene in the beginning where I thought everything was back to normal which was in the first chapter and they two are like practicing fight and it was so cute and then they kiss afterwards. I thought everything was okay but it turns out everything isn’t okay as we learn a couple pages after that. This book is a completely different tone from the first book. As the first book was more a slow burning mystery with suspense and light hearted moments sprinkled through out it, this book seems more of a depressing, psychological thriller.

This book has Mori slowly going off into the deep as she being framed as the killer instead of her father. The kids at school are tormenting her from being the daughter of a kill, someone is sending her threatening and mysteries messages, and the police are turning against her and siding with her father. People even attacked her brothers on their way to school one day. No one believes Mori except her brothers, Sherlock, and her mom’s old friend Alice who I loved for the whole book until the end because she ruined everything but more on that later. Like I said how Sherlock and Mori’s relationship has changed so has Mori. After what had happened in the first and the events from this book,  she is slowly turning into a different character. I’m not saying that Mori was some happy little flower in the first book, she wasn’t but she wasn’t like how she was in the book. In this book she was mad, angry and at sometimes she seemed paranoid. This side of her, I think started showing at the end of the first book. Alice even tells her that she sees more of her dad, a killer and a abusive man, in her than her Mori but again more on that later.

At one point, she gets into fight a woman who is accusing of killing people and Mori ends up on top of her with a knife against the woman’s throat and she almost kills her.

In my imagination, I saw hands covered in blood, only this time, instead of my father’s body beyond, I saw Alice dead, and Freddie. I saw Michael and Seanie cowering as our father moved toward them. All of that and more would happen if I went to prison now. And all it would take was a slice to stop her from ruining everything.

You would not be you anymore. I heard Lock’s voice so clearly in my mind right then, I half expected to hear his crunching steps behind me. I gritted my teeth against the sound of it and blinked away the hot, wet feeling in my eyes. I screamed in my mind that he was wrong, that I was already changed, that I had to do this!

But a tremor in my hand moved the knife and nicked her skin, and the blood drop that formed over the wound made me toss the knife aside. I crawled off her and away, until I was sitting in a pile of feathers that used to be Alice’s duvet. I thought Mrs. Greeves might get up and run off when I did, but she just lay there, coughing more than she had when I’d been on top of her. She didn’t even move her hands. She coughed twice more and her eyes were closed. Maybe she was sleeping, I told myself. Maybe she’d fall into unconsciousness and stay there. Maybe I’d already killed her in the end.”

I know it’s a weird thing to say but this was my favorite scene in the whole book. I loved how it was written. Heather W. Petty is such a great writer when it comes to suspense scenes because I’m like on my toes. I was reading this at dinner and we were at a public restaurant and I was flipping out!

Again we are lacking in John Watson in this book but it’s less then last time. I mean we got a scene last time and he is only mentioned one time in this book! His girlfriend though whose dad was a victim of the murders was in this book a lot and I did not care her at all. She and Mori have something that is trying to be a friendship but it isn’t because Mori is losing it and Lily is like not helping at all. Lily is not helping the fact that everyone is saying terrible things about her and at one point she is like we need to reform the group that our parents formed a long time ago and I’m bitch that is a terrible idea! They just killed all the people in the last group. Mrs. Hudson is again only mentioned and it’s about the same amount that she was mentioned in the last book. Mycroft is still in this book and his reasons for being there are sad because Sherlock’s mom is sick and we learn this in book one but not a lot of information is given about that until this one.

Sherlock and Mycroft are at the hospital a lot during this book and Mori goes over there to comfort him and their relationship slow beginning to heal and I’m like something is going to go wrong and I can’t deal with this! But yeah their relationship starts healing and after the events of Mori attacking people and people dying. She begins to think that it is all over and she’s like I love Sherlock and I’m going to be with him and I’m like yes girl go to him! She finds Sherlock but before she can go to him, Mori is attacked. So here is where that bitch Alice comes. Mori wakes up in a cell on some farm and Alice is there and it turns out she has been the one sending everything to Mori, killing everyone, and she is just like I did it for you. She then tells Mori that she is more like her dad then her mother and the whole reason she did this all because she wanted Mori to be her partner like her mother was but then she is like you are a killer like your dad.

Because you’re nothing like your mother.” Alice held the bars and leaned back like a little kid at a playground. “This wasn’t in the original plan, of course. I was going to make you my partner, the way I’d been for your mom. I even tried to teach you. But, sadly, you aren’t like Emily.” She blew her bangs up off her forehead and pulled herself upright again.

“You said over and over that I was.”

“Yes, which is why I sent you the cards. That was my test. Emily would have figured out what was going on ages before you did. But I suppose it’s good that you turned out to be lesser. There can’t be two of us. That won’t do.”

Two of us. I stared at Alice, wondering what in the world that meant.

“But you’re not like her, are you?” She smiled. “You’re like him.”

I knew immediately whom she meant. “I’m not!”

“Oh. Did I hit a sore spot?” Alice offered a mocking pout. “That moment in the hospital stairway I saw the truth. You actually put your hand around my neck. Do you remember doing that? Do you know how many times I watched your father do that to my Emily?”

She is the whole fucking reason that Moriarty and Sherlock become more and more distance. Mori was ready to forgive him and go back to him but then fucking Alice had to go and kidnap Mori and put her in prison! She ruined their chance at happiness! You are probably like maybe she didn’t ruin their chances well I think she did because the book like the first one ends with a line from Mori talking about Sherlock and how she will never cry over him again.

I traced my finger down the divot I’d made, and then I promised that these would be the last tears I’d ever shed for Sherlock Holmes.”

I don’t know what happens next. Book three comes out in November and by the title of the book I think it’s the last one as it’s called the Final Fall.
