LIKE WHERE DO I EVEN BEGIN!?!? | Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare

Greetings Earthlings! Today I’m reviewing the book that I’ve been waiting for months which Lord Of Shadows By Cassandra Clare, the second book in the Dark Artifices trilogy!

because guess whose a emotional

Rating: + A: Perfect book with get characters and fantastic plot line.

Everyone is afraid of something. We fear things because we value them. We fear losing people because we love them. We fear dying because we value being alive. Don’t wish you didn’t fear anything. All that would mean is that you didn’t feel anything.”

OH MY GOD!!! THIS IS BOOK I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOREVER TO READ AND IT WAS SO WORTH IT!! If you didn’t know already, I’ve been posting reviews for the Shadowhunter Chronicles over the past couple months for my review of this book. I have already review City of BonesCity of AshesCity of GlassCity of Fallen AngelsCity of Lost Souls, City of Heavenly FireLady MidnightThe Infernal Devices, Tales from Shadowhunter Academy, and the first season of Shadowhunters which you should check out. SO here it is the review for Lord of Shadows and here’s what I have to say THIS BOOK WAS AMAZING AND PERFECT AND THAT LAST PART FUCKED ME UP REAL GOOD!! I was really excited to read this book if you didn’t know and this book really messed me up let me show you some of my tweets.

Also in other Cassandra Clare unblocked me on twitter. So yay!!! Okay back to the review,  this book was so great, funny, emotional, heartwarming, emotional, and emotional. Oh man this book was just amazing! This book is about the same size of Lady Midnight and it somehow seemed bigger than it really was. Maybe because I read it on my kindle and not with an actual copy of book. The that it seems bigger wasn’t a compliant, I loved it because it made it seem like it would last forever! But it didn’t. Also like turns out this book wasn’t preorder so I had to go buy after I got home from school but this book came out during exam week and I had a french exam the next day so I couldn’t read it. I’m texting my best friend like ‘I really want to read it!’ and she’s like ‘no you have finals, just put your kindle away!’ So I like stuff my kindle under my bed but as I’m trying to go to sleep, I given in and read like 10% of Lord of Shadows before going to bed.

I tried to do notes for this but I was just like there is no time, you only have time to read this book! I’ve been putting a lot of effort into not getting spoiled for this book like Christine Riccio’s review came out *which you have read the book then go watch her review and all of her book reviews because she is amazing and so funny and I so wanted to watch it but I was just no I can’t! Even though I’ve finished the book, I have still haven’t watched her review because I need to get this done. That’s why the title of the review is called I don’t even know where to start because I don’t know where to start with this review like it is all out of order!

This book starts off Kit trying to adjust to being a Shadowhunter and the lost Herondale and he is doing that by following the steps of Jace which is being angsty *in my head I was singing that part! He is trying to steal some pretty daggers from the institute and Jace catches him and they start talking and it was pretty great. Some of the Mortal Instruments gang makes an appearance which is Jace and Clary and Magnus and Alec and their kids which I loved because its just refreshing to have the people from the other books come in.

Jace and Clary are there to help the new Herondale deal with everything like the fact that his dad is dead and everything he knew wasn’t true. Okay can we just talk about the fact that Clary is having dreams that she might die! Like what the hell is up with that? So I told my sister that Clary said no to his proposal and my sister takes my kindle from me and starts reading the scene and then suddenly she is like gasping from shock and I’m like girl what are you doing and then she gives me my kindle back and I’m reading the scene and it’s like what the hell.

I used to have dreams,” Clary said. She was staring out at the path the moon left across the dark water, like a slash of white bisecting a black canvas. “When I was your age. Dreams of things that were going to happen, dreams of angels and prophecies. After the Dark War was over, they stopped. I thought they wouldn’t start again, but just these past six months, they have.”

Emma felt a bit lost. “Dreams?”

“They’re not as clear as they used to be. But there’s a sense—a knowing something awful is coming. Like a wall of darkness and blood. A shadow that spreads out over the world and blots out everything.” She swallowed. “There’s more, though. Not so much an image of something happening, but a knowledge.”

Emma stood up. She wanted to put a hand on Clary’s shoulder, but something held her back. This wasn’t Clary, the girl who’d comforted her when her parents had died. This was Clary who’d gone into the demon realm of Edom and killed Sebastian Morgenstern. Clary who’d faced down Raziel. “A knowledge of what?”

“That I’m going to die,” Clary said.”

Like could this happen? Would Cassie do something like this and kill off the girl who started it all? I have know no idea what to expect from this like what the hell is going to happen! Is Clary going to tell anyone about this? Is she going to tell Jace because how is he feeling about the whole proposal rejection I mean I know they are still together but how long is she going to keep this a secret! What about Simon too? They are Parabatai does he know??? I guess I’ll just have to wait to find out! I was a little disappointed that we didn’t get to see Simon or Izzy in this book like did they get married and if not then can we see the wedding because I want to see my kids get married. If they do get married, is Isabelle going take the last name Lovelace or is Simon going to the last name Lightwood like what is going to happen? Okay I need to calm down next topic.

So Lady Midnight ends with Emma talking to Mark and she’s like we need to fake a relationship and then Mark is like why lie and then it just ends like that. I forgot about that until the book begins and Mark wins a fish at the fair and he gives to Emma and kisses her on the cheek and I start freaking out! Like what the hell, I remember Emma and Julian breaking up because she finds out from Jem that Parabatai that are in love can have strong magic that can drive them insane and they can kill everyone each other and the people they love but I forgot about the Mark part because he doesn’t know about the Julian thing he is just trying to get into a relationship with Emma so he doesn’t focus on Cristina with Diego or Kieran with betraying him. Emma just breaks it off and doesn’t tell Julian why so Julian is so bad about it and he takes a page from how to be angsty kids that says mean shit.

On the topic of confessions, were you planning on telling the rest of Mark’s family why you dumped their brother with no warning?”

Emma looked astonished. “You’re angry that Mark and I broke up?”

“I guess you’ve dumped two of their brothers, if we’re really counting,” he said as if she hadn’t spoken. “Who’s next? Ty?”

He knew immediately he’d gone too far. Ty was her little brother, just as he was Julian’s. Her face went very still.

“Screw you, Julian Blackthorn,” she said, spun on her heel, and stalked back upstairs.”

During this scene I was just like, Julian honey what the fuck are doing! Like all the Julian and Emma moments were filled with tension and I’m like dying over the stuff they are going through. Some of these moments were like the ones from Lady Midnight where there are a lot of almost but there are more actual kisses in this one and then we have the cottage scene! This scene was like the beach scene from Lady Midnight, Emma finally tells Julian everything after Julian admits that he stills loves her and he has never stopped even though he kissed that faerie girl but it turns out that the faerie girl was a shapeshifter and she looked like Emma so that’s why he kissed her. Then they go at it in the cabin and I’m like yes yes YES!!

Julian and Emma decide that nothing is going to stop them from being in love so they decide to find a way to break this parabatai bond. They remember how when Robert Lightwood was exiled his bond with Michael Wayland wasn’t as strong and when Michael died, Robert didn’t even know about it. So they decided that they are going to talk to Robert about Emma being exiled so they can find a way to break this bond and even though Emma would be away from her family and everyone she loves. Now I want them to be together but I don’t know about this ending and with the ending of this book, is it even going to happen? Because with Robert getting stabbed and Livvy dying I don’t know what is going to happen next.

Okay now it’s time to talk about the plot because I’m 1500 words into this and I’ve barely talked about it. Annabel is alive and we discover this at the end of Lady Midnight in the epilogue and we think that Malcolm is dead and that Emma killed him but his body is just thrown into the ocean and they can’t find it and I’m like DID WE LEARN ANYTHING FROM SEBASTIAN!! So we are at the institute with Diana and suddenly Malcolm just appears and is like you will give me a Blackthorn so that I can kill them and raise Annabel from the dead. Julian gets taken by the Seelie Queen and he watches Malcolm kill Arthur then Annabel comes to life and then Annabel kills Malcolm.

And then there are the Centurions, these god awful Centurions. So Perfect Diego is a Centurion and he and Cristina are getting their relationship back on track but then the Centurions come and we met Zara *sighs of annoyance. This bitch can just die because I hate her!!!!! SO MUCH WITH A PASSION!!!!! SHE IS MEAN, RUDE, AND SHE IS JUST LIKE I’M BETTER THAN EVERYONE AND I SAY STUPID SHIT ABOUT GOOD CHARACTERS THAT HAVE NEVER DONE ANYTHING WRONG!!!!!!! She is just like I killed Malcolm even though it was Annabel and she is so rude towards Downworlders and she is just like I heard Magnus Bane put a spell on Alec and I’m like YOU CAN JUST LEAVE!!! When the last part came and they used the sword on Annabel and she admits the truth that she killed Malcolm I was just like HAHAHA ZARA I HOPE THAT KNOCKS YOU DOWN A COUPLE PEGS!!!

I didn’t know what to think about Annabel because she seemed okay at first and she didn’t what to come back to life so they are trying to help her out. So they all come together with Magnus and they are trying to get the truth sorted out but like the day of the thing, Magnus just collapses and I’m like NO MY CHILD DO NOT FUCKING DIE ON ME!! So Kit goes and gets Alec and they have to deal with that and Annabel starts freaking out because they people don’t believe her and they use the sword on her and then she gets upset because they won’t give her the Blackthorn estate and she is just like upset that Magnus isn’t there so she just grabs the sword and stabs Robert! Then Julian and the others are trying to calm her down and then Annabel stabs Livvy!! Precious Livvy!! Adorable sweet Livvy! And the book ends with the family surround other Livvy’s body trying to make sure that she is okay and I’m like dying. I was reading this while I was eating dinner with my cousins and I’m like dying!

Livvy was such a good character and I sad that is she is gone. She had a weird story line with Kit though like they are just hanging out and then she is like just like kiss me and then Kit kisses her. If it were any other couple in the world then I would fine this but considering the fact that every time there is a scene with Kit and Ty, Kit just talks about how beautiful he thinks Ty is! So when they kissed I was just like dude what are you doing I mean you are clearly crushing on Ty hard! I really ship Ty and Kit at first I thought it was weird at first because when they first met they are just fighting and Kit is just he is so beautiful. But now they had do many great moments in this book and I’m like Yes! My favorite moment with them was after Livvy had been attacked in the Shadow Markets and he felt so bad about the attack because in Lady Midnight, Livvy talks about how she wants her and Ty to be parabatai but Ty wants to be a centurion. When Magnus is trying to cure her and he is just a like a parabatai bond could save her and since she doesn’t have one Ty takes the guilt. It’s such a cute scene where Kit is comforting Ty and it’s adorable!

Tell me,” Kit said. Tell me what you need.

“Put your arms around me,” said Ty. His hands were pale blurs in the air, as if Kit were looking at a time-lapse photo. “Hold on to me.”

He was still rocking. After a moment, Kit put his arms around Ty, not quite knowing what else to do.

It was like holding a loosed arrow: Ty felt hot and sharp in his arms, and he was vibrating with some strange emotion. After what felt like a long time he relaxed slightly. His hands touched Kit, their motion slowing, his fingers winding themselves into Kit’s sweater.

“Tighter,” Ty said. He was hanging on to Kit as if he were a life raft, his forehead digging painfully into Kit’s shoulder. He sounded desperate. “I need to feel it.”

Kit had never been a casual hugger, and no one had ever, that he could remember, come to him for comforting. He wasn’t a comforting sort of person. He’d always assumed that. And he barely knew Ty.

But then, Ty didn’t do things for no reason, even if people whose brains were differently wired couldn’t see his reasons immediately. Kit remembered the way Livvy rubbed Ty’s hands tightly when he was stressed and thought: The pressure is a sensation; the sensation must be grounding. Calming. That made sense. So Kit found himself holding Ty harder, until Ty relaxed under the tight grip of his hands; held him more tightly than he’d ever held anyone, held him as if they’d been lost in the sea of the sky, and only holding on to each other could keep them afloat above the wreckage of London.”

So cute! You know what was also so cute, it was Magnus and Alec with their two sons, Max and Rafael. I loved them so much! So when Magnus like passed out, I was just like no you have to live for your kids and Alec so that you guys can get marriage! I need book three like right now and I need those two need to be happy! On another note, you want to know who broke my heart with their love triangleness their names are Mark, Cristina, and Kieran!! So in the last book, Mark and Cristina are sort of starting this thing but then we met Kieran *well remet because we already met him and then they start making out against a tree. In the end of Lady Midnight, Kieran betrays Mark and so Mark breaks it off and Cristina starts dating Diego again. In this book, Mark finds out that Kieran is in trouble and he goes to save him and Emma, Julian, and Cristina come along with him. Cristina and Mark kiss but they still go and save Kieran who doesn’t remember anything at the end of Lady Midnight.

Kieran, Cristina, and Mark become bonded and so they can’t live without each other and Kieran can tell that Mark is hiding something from him which broke my heart because he doesn’t remember anything and Mark won’t break up with him and he just keeps leading him on! There was a lot of tension between the three though and I saw this post on tumblr about how those three would be in a relationship and I would have never had thought that in Lady Midnight but with this book I could totally see it. Now whether it will happen is something that I don’t now about but if it did I would be fine with it. When the Unseelie King gives him his memories back and Kieran remembers, he is so crushed and I’m like crying because he doesn’t deserve it! I love Kieran and even though he has made some mistakes, I just want him to be happy! When he gets memories back and after the fight at the institute, he talks to Mark and tells him that he will testify and then he will leave Mark alone and Mark is like No but Kieran wasn’t there at the whole Annabel show down so I guess he did leave.

That battle against those faerie guys called like the Hunters was epic and if I’m being honest I was kind of expecting someone to die because I saw a tweet that Cassie tweeted which was that like four people died so I was just like who is going to die! No one I loved die…. during that scene they died later on. Oh yeah apart of this book took place in London at the London Institute which I figure probably had something to do with the Last Hours so I was looking for like little easter eggs for that. But I haven’t read that book yet so like I’ll have to goo back and check that. Jessamine’s ghost appears in this and when she did I was like Hey I know you! When she talked about ghosts and then says how Tessa would come to see if Will’s ghost was around but he wasn’t because he died happy. Who else heart broke when she said that? I loved when Kit was looking through the books and he’s just like some idiot named Will H scribbled in all the books. Tessa and Jem weren’t in this but they were mentioned a lot, I’m just wondering what they are up to.

We also met our first transgender character who is Diana and we are also given her backstory which I glad. I mean I had never really know anything about Diana but she is talking to Gywn and she tells him about her past and for the first time we got to see her as a person because in Lady Midnight we just saw her as like the morals of the group and  nothing else but in this we heard her story and I finally got to know her as a person as a character which I loved. What I really loved though was that I can’t wait to see more of her and more of her relationship Gywn because we haven’t seen her with anyone other the kids. We didn’t get to see a lot of Tavvy and Dru in this book, I mean they were still there but not as much as they were in the first book. Dru is in this book more then Tavvy because we flash to her at the institute and she mets Jamie, Perfect Diego’s brother and I felt like something was happening there. I don’t if anything is but something could. Also she grabs this thing that Jamie has and it takes her to Fairy where she sees ash a boy thirteen year old looking boy! CAN YOU SAY SEBASTIAN DEMON CHILD??? If you are confused look up Lord of Shadow theories or Crackpot theories on youtube and watch Emmmabooks and Polandbananasbooks videos and that should explain everything.

Guys this book was awesome and was much more than what I was expecting! I loved it so much this has got to be my favorite book this year! I wonder what will happen next because I’ve been watching a lot of Christine Riccio’s videos and I rewatched her Lady Midnight review and she talked about how just because Malcolm was stabbed doesn’t mean he was really died and then in this book, she was right he wasn’t really dead so now I’m wondering if all the other theories she could have are possible and I’m freaking out about it! Also this review has broken the record for longest review on my blog with 3718 words. I’M SO READY FOR QUEEN OF AIR AND DARKNESS LIKE YOU DON’T EVEN KNOW! Have you guys read this book? YOU SHOULD! What did you think of it? I HOPE YOU LIKED IT! Did you like or did you hate it? YOU SHOULD HAVE LIKED IT! My heart! It hurts! | City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare

Greetings Earthlings! Today I’m reviewing City of Heavenly Fire, the sixth book in the Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare!

Rating: + A: Perfect book with get characters and fantastic plot line.

Heroes aren’t always the ones who win,” she said. “They’re the ones who lose, sometimes. But they keep fighting, they keep coming back. They don’t give up. That’s what makes them heroes.”

This is sixth book in the Mortal Instruments series which if you didn’t know I’m re reading the series for the release of Lord Of Shadows which comes out in three days turns out I got the date wrong so these are going to be late. I have already review City of BonesCity of AshesCity of GlassCity of Fallen Angels, City of Lost SoulsLady MidnightThe Infernal Devices, and the first season of Shadowhunters which you should check out.   After this review I’m done with Mortal Instruments reviews, I mean I will stay review Shadowhunter Academy but after I do other things because I have so much to write about if you didn’t read the crazy beginning to my City of Fallen Angels review.

Okay City of Lost Souls was rough and left me crying but this book, this emotional roller coster of a final book nearly destroyed me! Like it’s too much! It felt like there Cassandra Clare was just beating me with this book. The book starts off with us meeting a new character Emma Carstairs who is our female lead for the Dark Artifices and this is her the day her parents died. We get a chance to know her and everyone else that becomes apart of the Dark Artifices series which is something that I loved and I talked about that a little in my Lady Midnight review.

I love the fact that we had a chance to met these characters when they were younger and experience what happened before the Lady Midnight. I just felt like I had a better connection with them because I already knew them and I didn’t really get that with the characters in this series or the other series. The characters reappear through out the book about it’s mostly Emma and Julian and I also loved the young Emma and Julien moments. Like the sword is used on all the Blackthorns and Emma is trying to stand up for them and she’s like ‘no I saw Sebastian and I stabbed too so just leave them alone’ and I’m like ‘YOU GO GIRL!’.

There is also this moment and I loved it.

We could—” he started, then stopped, swallowed, and started again. “We could become parabatai.”
He said it shyly, half-turning his face away from her, so that the shadows partially hid his expression.
“Then they couldn’t separate us,” he added. “Not ever.”
Emma felt her heart turn over. “Jules, being parabatai is a big deal,” she said. “It’s—it’s forever.”
He looked at her, his face open and guileless. There was no trickery in Jules, no darkness. “Aren’t we forever?” he asked.”

*emma and julian forever! i don’t know how I’m going to get through lord of shadows! because lady midnight was just too fucking much okay!

We have our little shadowhunter gang trying to fight back against Sebastian. Simon and Izzy are dating sort and Clary and Jace are definitely dating but they get do much because Jace has the heavenly fire in him so if they want to get busy then is there a chance he could set Clary on fire *which you know isn’t good. Alec is still upset about the fact that he and Magnus are broken up but let me tell you that doesn’t stop Alec from dropping sass like there is no tomorrow and there are still some steamy and sweet moments between the two. Sebastian is still creep as fuck! Like he is just going through this book killing people and doing terrible things and still being a creepy motherfucker and all I’ve done through out these last two books but in this book near the end Sebastian kicks the bucket.

And it’s heartbreaking!

It wasn’t fair! All I have done through out these books is hate him but then after Clary tricks him into thinking that she is on his side and then she’s stabs him and all the demon blood like leaves him and he becomes Jonathan which was who he was before he was like Sebastian and he is like saying he’s sorry to everyone and I’m like HOW DO YOU MAKE ME CARE ABOUT HIM RIGHT AS HE’S DYING???? WHO DOES THAT? More emotional moments come when like our group is in a demon realm and there is like a demon who shows you what it thinks you want and it literally shows everyone what it thinks they want and I’m screaming and dying fuck it was emotional hell.

Also after Sebastian’s death and they save Magnus, they run into Magnus’ dad *they don’t really run into him they summon and Magnus says that he is going to give up his immortality which will kill me because he’s 400 years old to save the world and Alec is like no don’t do this and I’m sobbing. Then Simon is just like no let me do it and then I’m died because Simon is my child and I’ll protect him with my life!!!

So his memories are taken away and he doesn’t remember anything over the last six books.  But then the epilogue comes and everything is beautifully wrapped up and my kids are happy and Simon sort of remembers somethings. It’s just so beautiful!

This book was the best thing ever. I’ve read like five times and each time still leaves me crying!!! Have you guys read this book? What did you think of it? Did you like or did you hate it? Let me know! I hope you enjoyed this review and make sure to look out for more coming your way. You should follow my book club here and other social media links. DAMN! | City of Lost Souls by Cassandra Clara review

Greetings Earthlings! Today I’m reviewing City of Lost Souls, the fifth book in the Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare!

Rating: -A: Good book with characters that got better and a slow plot line

He’d burn the whole world down til he could dig out you of the ashes.”

This is fifth book in the Mortal Instruments series which if you didn’t know I’m re reading the series for the release of Lord Of Shadows. I have already review City of BonesCity of AshesCity of Glass, City of Fallen AngelsLady MidnightThe Infernal Devices, and the first season of Shadowhunters which you should check out. After this book I will only have one book left to review and then I have to review Shadowhunter Academy.

So this book is emotional as hell. Like it’s a roller coster and I love very second of it. Sort. I mean at some points I was just sobbing loudly that some people would call it screaming and then at other points it was pretty rough and I forget what living was. A lot of stuff goes down in this book and it leaves you crying, screaming, and emotionally unstable but not so much that you can’t read the next book.

In this book Jace is gone and everyone is worried but mostly Clary. She goes out looking for him and finds him but it’s not really Jace. He is being controlled by Sebastian who needs him for something. And all three of them lived in a house together and it’s so awkward because Clary loves Jace but Jace isn’t himself and Jace gets trying to sleep with Clary and get her to trust Sebastian and Sebastian is just being the same creepy guy who he has always been but somehow got even creepy. There’s this scene when he’s talking to Clary and he is talking about how he can feel everything that she does to Jace and I’m like dude she’s your sister I know you’re in love with her but it’s gross and weird.

Your Bracelet,” she said. “Acheronta movebo.’ It doesn’t mean ‘Thus always to tyrants.’ That’s ‘sic semper tyrannis.’ This is from Virgil. ‘Flectere si nequeo superos, Acheronta movebo.’ If I cannot move Heaven, I will raise Hell.”

*i couldn’t find a quote of him being creepy but this will do

Izzy and Simon’s relationship is so slowly repairing for the events of City of Fallen Angels. They are so cute. I love them! The whole scene with them in bed and Simon telling her the story of Star Wars was something I never knew I needed. At least they sort of got a happy ending of this book there is another book to talk about *starts crying a little.

Isabelle waved a hand. “No need to worry, big brother. Nothing happened. Of course,” she added as Alex’s shoulders relaxed, “I was totally passed-out drunk, so he could really have done whatever he wanted and I wouldn’t have woken up.”
“Oh, please,” said Simon. “All I did was tell you the entire plot of Star Wars.”
“I don’t think I remember that,” said Isabelle, taking a cookie from the plate on the table.
“Oh, yeah? Who was Luke Skywalker’s best childhood friend?”
“Biggs Darklighter,” Isabelle said immediately, and then hit the table with the flat of her hand.”That is so cheating!”

Now we have to talk about Magnus and Alec. The destruction of my heart, my soul. MY HUMANITY! So the last book had the topic of immortality was brought up and started causing trouble in Malec’s relationship and Magnus’ ex-girlfriend tells Alec that she can help with him with all this. So she and Alec met up through out the book until Magnus almost dies in the battle during the end of the book and Alec goes to cut ties but then Magnus is there and he breaks up with Alec and it’s too emotional.

Softly, Magnus said, “Aku cinta kamu.”
“What does that mean?”
Magnus disentangled himself from Alec’s grip. “It means I love you. Not that that changes anything.”

*sobbing/ screaming again

I loved this book and I loved City of Heavenly Fire which I can’t wait to review look out for that. I’m sorry if this reviewed seems rushed I’m just busying all the time now. Like I’m writing this when I should be sleeping. Have you guys read this book? What did you think of it? Did you like or did you hate it? Let me know! I hope you enjoyed this review and make sure to look out for more coming your way. You should follow my book club here and other social media links. Like what is happening? | A Very short review of City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare

Greetings Earthlings! Today I’m reviewing City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare!

Rating: -C: Was expecting more than I got. Characters didn’t get any development until halfway.

Or maybe it’s just that beautiful things are so easily broken by the world.”

Okay so let’s just talk for a minute before we get to this review. So it’s May and Lord of Shadows comes out in like three weeks and I still have two books left to review along with Shadowhunter Academy. I got so behind on it but I just finished my re read of City go Heavenly Fire and I plan on writing all my reviews this weekend *remember this is being written at a different then when you are reading it so I’m going back on track. But then suddenly A Court of Wings and Ruin, Always and Forever Lara Jean, and Dark Prophecy are out and I’m just sitting over here crying because my wallet is EMPTY!!!

A lot of books are coming out this month and I can’t get them but then I’m thinking I can just review the other books in the series. But then I remember I have to finish reviewing these books and I can’t review more things without messing up my schedule. I mean I can bank all my reviews but I don’t want to do that. So I’m dealing with that at the moment. And then all this stuff about the Wheel of Time show and I have a lot of opinions with that and it’s been so long since I’ve done a Wheel of Time talk post thing. Then I’m re watching Gilmore Girls so that I can finally do a review!

Okay I’m done.

If someone can give any advice on what I should do because this is stressing me out.

Let’s get on with it.

This is book in the Mortal Instruments series if you didn’t know I’m re reading the series for the release of Lord Of Shadows. I have already review City of Bones, City of Ashes, City of Glass, Lady Midnight, The Infernal Devices, and the first season of Shadowhunters which you should check out. I only have two more books left to review and so little time left in the month of May.

So this is the fourth book in the Mortal Instruments and it’s short. Like it’s 400 something pages which is pretty short after City of Glass and it’s a couple pages shorter than City of Bones and City of Ashes. In my opinion it’s a filler book. A book that is just there to give out information or kick start something for the next book. This is mainly something that I usually see with like short stories or the first book in a series.

This book wasn’t great like City of Glass but it wasn’t terrible. I was just bored with this book and there were somethings that were interesting about it but there isn’t a lot here in this book. I mean Clary and Jace make out a lot while he continues to be angsty and Simon is dating to Isabelle and Maia which was really out of character and I was just like why can’t you just date Izzy because I ship you guys. Magnus and Alec’s relationship starts getting messy when the topic of immortality comes into the mix and I’m like no please don’t mess with my children.

Like I said not a lot happens with Sebastion being brought back from the dead by Lilith and Maureen getting turned by Simon. This isn’t my favorite book in the series but like I said it isn’t a lot to love about it. It does help bring a lot into the next two books of the series which are the best of the series.

I’m sorry that this review is really short but I don’t know what to talk about and I just need to get a review out. Have you guys read this book? What did you think of it? It’s just so beautiful and amazing and how dare these books give me feelings! | The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare series review

Greetings everyone! Today I’m reviewing the Infernal Devices books!

Rating: + A: Perfect book with get characters and fantastic plot line.

I can offer you my life, but it is a short life; I can offer you my heart, though I have no idea how many more beats it shall sustain”

I’m back to doing these reviews *yay! So I was just going to review the books by themselves but I’m running out of time because I’m reviewing all the books in the Mortal Instruments world before Lord of Shadows comes out. I have reviews for City of Bones, City of Ashes, City of Glass, and Lady Midnight. I also have a review for the first season of the Shadowhunters which is a show based. I only have a couple more things to review besides these books, I have to review Tales from Shadowhunter Academy and then City of Fallen Angels, then City of Lost Souls, and then *my favorite City of Heavenly Fire.

This is the prequel trilogy to The Mortal Instruments which you have to read before City of Fallen Angels. I did not know this at the time so I read past City of Fallen Angels and it wasn’t until I was half way through City of Heavenly Fire and it was too late to turn back.

Here is the correct order to read these books.

  1. City Of Bones
  2. City of Ashes
  3. City of Glass
  4. Clockwork Angel
  5. City of Fallen Angels
  6. Clockwork Prince
  7. City of Lost Souls
  8. Clockwork Princess
  9. City of Heavenly Fire

These books follow Tessa Gray who comes to London to see her brother and is then kidnaped and all this stuff happens and she mets Will Herondale and discovers this whole new world of sexy Shadowhunters, demons, angels, and, warlocks. These books are so great. If you have a hard time getting into the Mortal Instruments then just go to these books. It takes awhile to get into this book but not as long, it’s literally the first 100 pages and then bang! it gets amazing.

The first 100 pages for me seemed like a repeat of City of Bones but then suddenly it’s not! Tessa is completely different from Clary, she finds out that she is a warlock and Will and Jem are perfect boys that just too good for this world. I always hate love triangles, they are just pointless and are there to cause drama. I thought that this would be another one of those love triangles but it wasn’t. Usually in a love triangle I hate one of the guys but this time that didn’t happened because I loved all of them. At first I didn’t like Will because I was just like great another bad guy character that authors want me to like. I fell head over heels in love with Jem! He is just so cute, hot, and he plays the violin.

But then by the end of the book I was in love with them both. Will just turned out to be such a sweetheart and I just wanted to protect him and his relationship with Tessa is beautiful.

It’s too late,” she said.
“Don’t say that.” His voice was half a whisper. “I love you, Tessa. I love you.”

Jem is also sweetheart and he really cares about people but he mainly cares about Will because they are parabatai and Tessa because he loves her so much. This is one of the greatest love stories I’ve ever read. It doesn’t really matter if you like Tessa with Will or Tessa with Jem because in the end, she marries Will but he dead and then her and Jem get together. In my opinion it was good for everyone but some don’t agree. It’s just so amazing!

This trilogy is so amazing! Everyone will tell you that and it’s because that it’s true. This is the best mix of mystery, action, demon slaying, magic, fantasy, and romance. And the fact that it’s a trilogy and it got better with every book, clearly says something because trilogies have a bad history of failing at the end. Like the Hunger Games, Divergent *allegiant was the worst, the Maze Runner and a lot more. So the fact that this trilogy was  so strong through out it’s run, so just be enough for you to read.

I recommend this series to Fantasy lover, romance lovers, people who loved the Mortal Instruments, anyone. Everyone go read these books!!! Have you guys read this book? What did you think of it? Did you like or did you hate it? Let me know! I hope you enjoyed this review and make sure to look out for more coming your way. You should follow my book club here and other social media links. This is too awesome to be annoying! | City of Glass by Cassandra Clare review

Greetings everyone! Today I’m posting my review of City of Glass by Cassandra Clare, the third book in the Mortal Instruments series and my bookclubs book of the month!

Rating: -A: Good book with characters that got better and a slow plot line

She could ask for anything, she thought dizzily, anything–an end to pain or world hunger or disease, or for peace on earth. But then again, perhaps these things weren’t in the power of angels to grant, or they would already have been granted. And perhaps people were supposed to find these things for themselves.”

If you didn’t know but you should know by now that I’m rereading and reviewing the Mortal Instruments series, the Infernal Devices series, and the Shadowhunter season one*  up until the release of Lord of Shadows *may 23 baby. I have a review for City of Bones here, City of Ashes here, and I have a Lady Midnight review here. Now I’m reviewing the third book in the Mortal Instruments which is the book of the month for my book club on goodreads.

This book follows right the events of the last book with Clary trying to go to this place from all the shadowhunters go to hang out to met this girl who claims that she can save her mom. Jace is being an asshole to her because that’s what you do when you’re in love with someone apparently. Simon ends up in prison with this guy in that place where the shadowhunters hang out because he got there on accident. Jace called him up and was like met me here then Jace was like hey so Clary can’t come and I need you make sure she doesn’t come then shit happens and Simon ends up in that place. Alec and Magnus are going though some relationship issues and Isabelle is still hot as hell.

If you couldn’t tell I really liked this book. This book just kicks the other two out of the park because it’s great! Well the first part of this book isn’t that great because it’s just Clary and Jace being so fucking rude to each other well it’s mainly Jace but after Clary mets Sebastian she is kind of him back to him. I’m just like you guys keep talking about how much you two care about each other well WHY DON’T YOU FUCKING ACT LIKE???? Seriously like these two just did to get it together. Jace is just being an asshole to Clary I really hated him in this book. He is just like I’m Valentine’s son and I’m upset about so that means I just be a angst asshole. Clary is just trying to save her mother and you aren’t letting her do that why not because you’re an asshole.

And I’m suppose to sit by while you date boys and fall in love with someone else, get married…?” His voice tightened. “And meanwhile, I’ll die a little bit more every day, watching.”

Alec and Magnus are still in a relationship and this in book it’s not at it’s best. Alec has sort been in love with Jace in the last couple books and he is also dating Magnus and Magnus is kind of tired of only being there when Alec needs help so he just ignores him. Then he goes to the place where the shadowhunters go and Alec finds him and he’s just like hey man why haven’t you called me and they get into a whole conversation and Magnus is just like I love you.

Alec comes out in this book and it’s amazing. Like so after that conversation that I just badly describe, Alec tells Magnus that if they survive then he’ll come out to his parents and to be honest when I first read this book I thought that it that meant that one of them wasn’t going to make because whenever people say things like that it means that they won’t make it so I was so scared. Either of them died but after this huge fight Alec kisses Magnus in front of everyone including his parents and it was just amazing.

We are introduced to a new villain named Sebastian who was recently casted for the show. He is going to be played by Will Tudor who was on Game of Thrones.

So many people think that Sebastian is like one of those bad boy villains that we love like Loki but I don’t think that. I think that Sebastian is crazy and insane and he creeps the shit out of me. We find out that he is the one who is really Valentine’s son and Jace isn’t and Sebastian is also in love with Clary and he lets her know it in a very creepy way. The battles in this book are crazy intense! People died like Alec and Isabelle’s little brother Max which is just heartbreaking.

This book was a lot of fun and amazing to read. It kicks both the first and second books asses. Up next I’m reviewing the Infernal Devices which should be fun so look out for that.Have you you guys read this book? Did you like it? Shadowhunters Season One review!

Greetings earthlings! Today I’m reviewing Shadowhunters season one because season two comes on tonight and what the hell I forgot to post this earlier in year!

Rating: -B: Could has better and was too slow and only got good at the end

Shadowhunters is based on the Mortal Instruments books series by Cassandra Clare which I have reviews for City of Bones, City of Ashes, and Lady Midnight out right now. My City of Glass review is coming out soon so look out for that. There already was a Mortal Instruments film and I liked it but no one else seem to but I was really looking out for this show ever since it was first announced and ever since I finished the series. My excited dropped though the more stuff they released because man it looked cheesy as hell and had an actress playing Clary that didn’t seem like the best actress.

I got what I expect. An okay show with Actors and Actress that some I found great like Alberto Rosendo, Matthew Daddario, Harry Shum Jr., and Emeraude Toubia. They played their characters so well and I loved them. Some I thought were okay which is the rest of the cast. I’m sorry to say that because to be honest I like Dom Sherwood, I thought he was good in Vampire Academy and he is not too bad to look. He very once and a while he seems like a good Jace but sometimes I just don’t like him. Clary on the other hand, she hasn’t been in a lot but man I had a little bit a hope that it was just the trailers making her look cheesy. Nope and what the hell is up with her hair?

Why is it orange? It looks like a wig but it’s not!

I have both pros and cons with this show. One of the cons is that it stopped following the books after two episodes. The first two episodes were pretty close to the book and they were pretty good episodes but then episode three came alone and man that was pretty bad. It was just so weird, episode three was my least favorite. I had a test the day after it air so I couldn’t watch but then I started watching and it took me three days to finish it because I just was bored. Jace takes Clary to this underworld bar and has her make out with a vampire and I’m like what???? Then Izzy is ‘hanging out’ with this fairy dude and I’m again like what????? Then we have got my baby Simon who was kidnapped and is now with Raphael and Camille. Alec is off somewhere.

Another thing was they tried to push the ships too hard. I mean come on?? One of the reasons I loved Magnus and Alec is was just watching their relationship grow and there also was a lot of funny moments with Alec trying to hide their relationship. But in the show they just tried so hard to push them together and it was just weird. I didn’t feel that connected to them or that Alec felt the same way for some episodes.  They also did something that I hate which is bring ship names into the show. I don’t find it funny at all I find it like they are trying too hard to be funny.

We also got this weird arrange wedding thing and I don’t get me wrong that kiss was epic and I think Lydia made the right choice with calling off the wedding so that he could be happy. I wanted the City of Glass kiss though after they had before grown and I didn’t get that. We also didn’t get the great Jace and Clary kiss that we got in City of Bones. We got some lame kiss that happened in front of the whole squad and not the romantic one we got in the book.

There were a lot of errors that were in the shows. Like Mrs. Lightwood is like stone cold to Izzy and nice to Jace and Alec but in the books she was nice to Izzy and Alec because they were her kids and stone cold to Jace. Also Lydia is from the Branwell family and she’s like my grandfather ran one of these and I’m like that’s not what happen did any one read the books.

I do have some pros about the show like I said I loved some the cast and how the portrayed the characters. My favorites are Alberto Rosendo and Emeraude Toubia. I love them so much as their characters and they are both very pretty. Everyone on this show is very pretty. I think that the show got better was it went on and with all this new season two stuff showing and it looks pretty close to the books now. They got the Smallville show runners and I’m currently watching that and I really like it.

This is a show where you shouldn’t go in expecting the books because it’s not going to be the same thing. Go into this to look at a different way of the Mortal Instruments because then you should be able to find some entertainment in watching this show. Do you enjoy the show? If you do then are you excited for the second season which comes back on tonight? I hope you guys enjoy this review and are following my book club here and other social media links. Like, Comment, and follow for more rants like these! YAS! | Lady Midnight By Cassandra Clare Review (repost and redone)

Hello everyone! Today I’m reviewing Lady Midnight, the first book in the Dark Artifices series by Cassandra Clare!

Rating: -A: Good book with characters that got better and a slow plot line

There was beauty in the idea of freedom, but it was an illusion. Every human heart was chained by love.”

I have reviews for City of Bones here and City of Ashes here if you would like to get those out. I’m rereading the Mortal Instruments books and Infernal Devices and reviewing along with a Shadowhunter before the second season comes out and Lord of Shadows is released. I wrote this review along time ago and it was really bad. It was like five paragraphs long and I didn’t even talk about the things that I had opinions on. I only talked about a little bit of the plot and then about how much I loved Emma and Julian. Now that my reviewing the rest of the books, I thought that I would go back and fix this review.

I finished this book like a week after it came out because I had it preorder like months before and I had a draft ready for me to start writing and for a review to post but instead I just wrote another different post and reviews. Also for some reason I haven’t been writing that much and I’m on spring break. I’m writing now so that’s all that matters. Last year I read the Mortal Instruments series and it’s was amazing! I became obsessed and this series became one of my favorites. Then I read the Infernal Devices and it was amazingly overhyped but still fantastic! I didn’t love as more then the Mortal instruments as everyone said I would but I love it! When Lady Midnight was available for preorder I PREORDER IT!! *i was going though a mortal instruments and infernal devices withdraw.

Let’s get on with the review!

Lady Midnight is a book that takes five years in the future after City of Heavenly Fire. Our main characters Emma who appeared in City of Heavenly Fire with her parents dying. It take place in LA and it was amazing! For some reason when Cassandra Clare writes a new series, the first book is always my least favorite. I’m not saying that they’re bad, it’s just when the rest of books come out they are always better then the first book *go read my city of bones review, i talk about

This book was so much better then City of Bones and Clockwork Angel. It’s a giant book though and reading all 700 pages were worth it. Emma was a great protagonist for this book. I don’t know if it was because we have earlier been introduced to them at the last book but it didn’t awhile for me to love these characters. Like in the first chapter we have Emma and her best friend Cristina are talking about Emma’s break up with Cameron because the way Emma handle it was bad and then like Emma’s profile picture for him is a llama and seeing that picture of a llama made her really bad and it was so funny.

I knew that Cameron and Emma weren’t going to say together because in the prologue, they are together and there was nothing there. None of that famous Cassie Clare chemistry that we all love and wish we had. But Emma did have that with her parabatai, Julian who is hot as hell and I might steal him from her but I love Emma and Julian! They are so cute and WAY IN LOVE! I mean this quote:

When you love someone, they become a part of who you are. They’re in everything you do. They’re in the air you breathe and the water you drink and the blood in your veins. Their touch stays on your skin and their voice stays in your ears and their thoughts stay in your mind. You know their dreams because their nightmares pierce your heart and their good dreams are your dreams too. And you don’t think they’re perfect, but you know their flaws, the deep-down truth of them, and the shadows of all their secrets, and they don’t frighten you away; in fact you love them more for it, because you don’t want perfect. You want them. You want—”

He broke off then, as if realizing everyone was looking at him again.

“You want what?” said Dru with enormous eyes.

“Nothing,” Julian said. “I’m just talking.”

YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT!!! YOU TALKING ABOUT EMMA, JULIAN!!!! The thing about any Cassie Clare couple is that they go through something that is very hard to go through. Jace and Clary went through when they thought that they were siblings and then we found out they weren’t siblings but Clary has a crazy brother who scares the living shit out of me. Magnus and Alec went through Alec’s coming out and dealing with the fact that Magnus is immortal and Alec isn’t. Will and Tessa went through the fact that she was engaged to Jem and she loved Jem and Jem was Will’s parabatai, Jem and Tessa went through the fact that Tessa was in love Will. Emma and Julian are parabatai and they clearly have feelings for each other but parabatai can not be romantically involved.

They are trying to push through their feelings but as pass books have shown as that doesn’t work well. I really curious about how all this is going to work because the parabatai bond is very strong magic so if they wanted to break the bond what the damage of breaking the bond be? Also what happened to Emma during that fight scene? She was fighting with Malcolm Fade *the shade warlock who wishes he was as cool as Magnus Bane and something happens and she gets strike by something and I think that something happened to her and I need Lord of Shadows right now because I want to know what happens next!!!!

Malcolm Fade is so shady. Like I was reading this at first I like cool another Warlock but then we met Malcolm and I was just like no. I was right though because he is evil! He was trying to bring back this evil chick named Annabel and she does in the epilogue. I watched a review and they talked about a line where Malcolm says something that foreshadows what he does in the end and I just like how did I miss that?

Julian also has a brother named Mark who was taken by the faerie five years earlier and at first I didn’t know what to think about him and this faerie named Kieran but then like five seconds I’m like shipping them like there is no tomorrow. They are really cute and I love them.

I can’t wait to continue reading about them and all the other characters. Jace, Clary, Tessa, and Magnus made an appearance in this book and Robert said something about his daughter’s engagement party?!?!?  There is a short story in the back of the hardcover edition called a long conversation and I didn’t even know about it until I went to Violin and my teacher who I got into the Mortal Instruments was talking about it. I had to borrow her copy of Lady Midnight so that I could read.

In a Long Conversation, Isabelle and Simon get engaged after Simon watches Izzy kill a demon and they are having an engagement party. Everyone is so grown up on and it warms my heart. Sizzy is getting married, Clary and Simon are parabatai, Malec has two kids, and Clary and Jace are still together. So Jace takes Clary aside from the part and he proposes to her and she doesn’t say anything and then they get a call telling them to go to LA and deal with everything that just happened in the Lady Midnight plot. I also need to know about that. Lord of Shadows comes out April 11, 2016 and here is the cover!

There is so much happening in that one cover and it just makes what to read it more. This book is go to introduce us to either the Last Hours or the Wicked Powers I don’t remember which one but it’s one those and it takes place in London. I’m so excited! I have already preorder Lord of Shadows. I had so much fun getting back into the Shadow world and teaming up with Shadowhunters! This book was amazing and I love every minute of it.

It was slow for a the first part of the book but it picked it self up and leaves you with an ending that makes you want more. I think everyone should read the Mortal Instruments and Infernal Devices and then this book because it’s amazing. You should read Tales of Shadowhunter Academy before this because I didn’t and that was a huge mistake. This review is now much better being like 1000 words longer then it was before. An less annoying then the first one | City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare review

Greetings everyone! Today I’m posting my review of City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare, the second book in the Mortal Instruments series!

Rating: +B: Had a weird pace and took me a while to like the characters.

Desire is not always lessened by disgust. Nor can it be bestowed, like a favor, to those most deserving of it. And as my words bind my magic, so you can know the truth. If she doesn’t desire his kiss, she won’t be free.”

I did a review for the first book and you can read that here. I’m doing reviews of all the books in this series and Infernal Devices along with a Shadowhunter before the second season comes out and Lord of Shadows is released. In this book, Clary and Jace tried to deal with the fact that they are sibling that are attracted to each other and that their dad is a crazy shadowhunter who wants to raise demons and stuff like that. Clary  tries dating Simon and Alec is trying to hide the fact that he isn’t having hot gay sex with Magnus Bane, the high warlock for Brooklyn aka the best character ever.

I thought that the first book was hard to get into and this book was much better then the first book but it’s not my favorite. This book still took awhile to get into but it was easier then the first book. I kind of hated Jace in this book because he decide to be a giant dick to everyone which I get because everyone thinks that he is Valentine’s son and that gets in prison and he loves his sister and she goes off and gets another boyfriend. Which I guess is something that is hard to go through. I mean it’s not something that happens to normal people in everyday life.

Most of this book is just everyone trying to work out their feelings. In this corner we have Clary and Jace we found out that their are siblings and it’s weird because in the last book, they had this really hot kiss scene. Clary decides to try and date Simon who has been in love with Clary since like forever. Jace tries dealing with his feelings in a different away as I same before, he becomes a dick to everyone. He gets into a fight in the beginning at a werewolf club and thank goodness for Luke being there because he would have die. They sort of deal with it but they still think that they are siblings so it is still not totally good with them.

Something inside Clary cracked and broke, and words came pouring out. ‘What do you want me to tell you? The truth? The truth is that I love Simon like I should love you, and I wish he was my brother and you weren’t, but I can’t do anything about that and neither can you!”

In the other corner, we have Alec who is trying really hard to fight his feeling for ‘Jace’ even though we know that he means ‘Magnus’ and he always has to deal with family finding out that he is gay. We get a really funny scene where Alec has a hickey on his neck and Jace sees it and Alec tries to hide it and he does a horrible job. There is also a really cute scene where Magnus loses his strength and Alec is just like take me strength and my heart just can’t take it! I LOVE THEM SO MUCH!

“We’re not dating,” Alec said again.
“Oh?” Magnus said. “So you’re just that friendly with everybody, is that it?”

In the other other corner, we have Simon who is with the girl that he has always liked but then we mets a new girl who is a werewolf and then after a events happen where Simon becomes a vampire and Valentine  kidnapped him, Maya, and Clary and he kills Simon. He kills my CHILD! But something good happens, and Simon lives and can walk outside in the sunlight unlike most vampires. He and Clary break up because she’s in love with her brother and he likes Maya.

This book definitely beats the first book but it still isn’t the best. It really picks up in the next book and I can’t wait to review it. After I review City of Glass I will then do Clockwork Angel which I’m so excited to do. Have you you guys read this book? Did you like it? I hope you enjoyed this review and are following my book club here and other social media links. I posted rants like this once a week every week. Like, Comment, and follow for more rants like these!
